I inserted a CAD link "this view only" and I cannot now get it to turn on in any other view. I used this option so I would not have to hide it in every view. Now do I have to delete it and start over inserting it so it shows up everywhere?
View 2 RepliesI had a client send me a word document as a pdf which I dropped into Illustrator to make it print ready. When I pulled the file into Illustrator, two of the embedded links, which happened to be the logo of said client, did not show up. The file is in the links panel and shows it as embedded, I can even see the bounding box when I hover over where the logos are supposed to be. However, when I open the file in adobe reader or acrobat, or even preview, those logos show up. Illustrator showed no errors and none of us caught it so it was printed without the logos.
Is there an explanation for this and how can I check for it in the future just in case it happens again?
why my File Link Manager dialog box is not showing up in 3ds Max 2012?
I have not been using 3ds Max 2012 because it was so buggy upon it's release, and it appears as though that has not changed. Anyway, my 3ds Max 2012 is completely up to date with SPs, HFs, and Subscription Advantage Pack. This is literally the first time I've tried to use it, and it's already going bad; I would have thought by now AD would have had most of the bugs worked out of it.
For some reason on certain cad files when linked into revit. when I hit the align button. the linked filed doesnt properly select the lines, it selects an area near the line, which causes it to not properly line up to the revit line work

I link my site dwg into my Arch central and want the Site to be visible when I link the Arch into other files. I want the Arch to hold the Site link but be able to see the site when the arch in linked into other models. View 1 Replies View RelatedAn architect sent me his revit file, it contains the full model and all the floor plan views and drawing sheets. He has floor plan views set up for each floor and some enlarged views as well. On each floor plan view each room has a tag that contains room name and room number and every door has a tag that contains the door number.
When I create a new file and link in his file so I can then start working, doing what we need to do, adding devices, etc. The problem is, the architect's room tags and door tags dont link in, and if they do I cant see them. I've gone through every possible combination in the visibility/graphics options to no avail.
Room and door info linking in should be a basic function of revit; how could autodesk expect mech, elec, plumbing engineers to create drawings that have zero room and door info?
If it matters, I'm working in Revit 2010.
ive recently started to work with DBLink and access 2013 to make take offs mainly. Today i made a small project to test some ideas and found an inconsistency between the material areas and the area of the element, a wall in this case, to which the material is apllied. I think they should be the same, or at least very close, but that´s not the case when i export to access. I've attached a image with a material takeoff schedule from revit and the correspondent query from access (element type name, element area, material name, material area, material volume, material area/element area). The revit one seems correct, but in access the material area values are very different. Initially i thought it would be due to units difference, like the material area were in sq cm and the element area in sq m, but the relationship between them isn´t 10, as you can see in the calculated value. Then i added the material volume to the schedule and query and the results on access are even more strange, i can´t even imagine where this values came from.

We are new to Revit, and have done a couple of projects in Revit. We have separate models for arch, mech and elect (no struct, this is done outside our office). We currently link models to each other as needed, the architect will link mech and elec. The mech eng. will link arch and elec and so on. Mention the use of a blank model onto which you link all models. I never got a chance to ask the individual how they use it or how it would benefit the process.

I wanted them to create a drop-down list of materials within the family to allow a user to select from the list of materials. This is accomplished by using a nested family - the inserted family has the materials defined. The drop-down list appears just fine in the properties, but we aren't able to apply it to the extrusion. I have tried inserting each family type and using the Label parameter, but Revit won't allow the link.

The wall foundations are shown cut, but I cannot get the isolated foundations to show cut. I verified by wall sections that both foundation types are definitely passing through the cut plane.
View 9 Replies View RelatedA new phenomenon today after updating R14 yesterday with the 'rvt2014ur11' patch, though this might not be connected. My revision clouds, after finishing the edit and clicking the big green tick, disappear! The revion number and note is added to the bottom of the sheet but no revision cloud. As annotation objects visibility is on, there is no annotation cut off on a sheet view and they do not show up when the 'Reveal Hidden Elements' is chosen.

In order to see beam in my architectural layout, we are changing the cut plane value in the view range. With this step I can see the beam but not the cut pattern of the beam..very weird. Also, one more thing, just to check I copy pasted beam modeled in revit 2011 in revit 2013 and I could see the cut pattern. So is something wrong with 2013 beam revit family?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have inherited some Revit files, all of which have a ground floor and ceiling plan (hence an associated level).
The levels do not show the in elevations (or sections for that matter). It is not a view setting, I have checked this, nor are they hidden by category or element. I have added new levels and these are visible. The levels exist, I just cannot view them or select them.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a file that I have applied different floor finishes to different rooms based on flooring patterns and hatches - they are not visible in the floor plans . Funny thing is if I make a seperate room outside the project in the same view and assign it flooring patterns - it does show up all the floor finishes. The only reason I can think of is phases. View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a model and i created a new level as normal, propogated extents etc but when i created as section North to South (Vertical) in the model the level does not show. When i create a section from East to west (horizontal) then the level appears fine. I've tried creating many sections and this is always the case. If i select a level in the section and click on select all instances in entire project the number includes the additional level but i can't see it. It is not hidden in the view, not on a different workset or anything unusual...
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am using Revit 2013 and have built a material library for the company I work for. It has been working fine up until about an hour ago. Now when I try to open up the material library I created it says "No assets in this library". I can't figure out why there is nothing there. And I don't want to have to recreate all my materials I already created! I can still find the file in my folders and it says theres 3930 KB of information in the file. I included a picture of what my Assest Editor and Asset Browser show when I try to open my library.
