I have just started learning Revit Architecture by walking through the Youtube tutorials. The only problem I have had is not having any grid bubbles showing up. Is there somethine wrong with my settings or do I maybe have a simple box unchecked?
View 1 RepliesI am just starting to use revit and in trying to do some tutorials i am having problems with the grid bubbles. The bubbles are so small that there is no visible text inside them and since the bubbles are so small it makes it difficult to adjust the lines and understand which line is which.Â

is this a configuration issue, scale issue, type issue? I havge tried to load grid bubble families but this does not change anything

I've got my grid & bubbles as a separate construct that I bring into my different plans. When I bring it into my reflected ceiling plan, the grid shows up, the bubble's extension lines show up, but the bubbles and numbers/letters contained within are not showing up in the reflected display...
Revit has a propensity to locate a lay-in ceiling grid with a grid intersection in the center of the room. You can use the alignment tool to align the grid with a wall. But I see no way to center a tile in a room. This is often a necessity in a narrow room, to keep the lights centered. Also, installers, when not given specific instructions to the contrary, will often locate the ceiling grid to minimize narrow tiles at the wall. We need more control over the position of the grid.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo when I open a file that's say, 100px x 100px, usually the PS window would be gray except for a 100pxX100px white square, which is, of course, the stage. However, now instead of the gray outer region (whatever that's called), it is showing as if it was transparent. When I drag the doc window to resize it, the stage is "duplicated" randomly while the transparent outer region continues to grow. I've attached a screen shot. The white block below is the stage. The rest is inaccessible. Also, if I use the Type tool, the screen flickers to its inverse with each keystroke. Â

When I set this up in illustrator the grid lines (major) render fine but I am not seeing any division (minor) lines at all. Is this the defauld behaviour in illustrator?
One thing I never liked about Corel PhotoPaint X5 was that a pixel grid appeared when you zoomed in. It is possible to turn this off on a per-document basis, but not globally. Now, I see X6 still didn't fix this.

View 6 Replies View RelatedThis is a recent development. I publish photos to Flickr, Smugmug, etc., and today, I cannot see any of them in the grid view. They DO show up in the filmstrip, but they don't show up in the grid. So, I cannot select, nor can I publish newly added photos.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with grid lines showing up in my print out from autocad, but only in the viewport that has 3D objects in it and displayed in conceptual mode or realistic mode. Don't know what is causing them or how to get rid of them. They do not show up on my screen or in the print preview. They only show up in the final prints and even when printing to a pdf file format. I have printed the same drawing out from other computers that have Autocad 2009 and do not get that problem. My computer has Autocad 2010. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Autocad but that doesn't work. Â

When drawing rectangles with grid / guidelines showing using 960 Grid System (although it happens with other documents as well), the edges of the rectangle are not sharp, e.g. http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/6232/blurred.png - note top and right side is blurred. There are no styles applied.
When I switch off grids / guidelines, the rectangles are always sharp.
Also, resizing rectangles causes loss of sharpness to edges.
Using CS4.
Is there a setting to export the grid lines of ACT ceiling in a 3D view to DWG?

I don't know if there is because I can't even get the grid lines to show in a 3d view. Right now the view shows the ACT ceiling as a simple geometric shape.
I am using 2013 version. (don't find a "lock" under toolbar.I am a student with only AutocadLT experience. I can not find how to offset a grid line.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI created a building section and all grid lines appear. Â I selected all grids that I want to appear in the building section, switched to 2D, and adjusted as desired. Â From that building section I created a callout for a stair section detail. Â In the callout view, some grid lines appear but not all grid lines appear. Â I turned off crop view but they still do not appear.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter creating a series of grid lines. when i try to select any one of them, it automatically shifts the grid line up several feet (in the plan view) and shifts it over to make it an even distance from the next gridline. therefore it is no longer in the correct position (or aligned with the rest of the grid lines). is there a snap setting or something i am missing when i just want to select a grid line without moving it? even with snaps off, it still happens.Â

I am using Revit Architecture 2013 and am trying to create a window family that has different grid options built into the family. Â I have included a copy of one of my window families I am working on and an image for an examples of what happens when I load all my windows into a project and place them. Â Some of the grid families do not automatically adjust to the size it should be. Â But if I click on the window (lets say it as no grids) and then select the no grid parameter again then it will adjust. How I can get these windows to adjust automatically so I don't need to do an extra step to make them look right!?Â

View 1 Replies View RelatedSomething has happened and now I cannot select grid lines in curtain walls. Â I can tab to highlight the grid line (dashed blue line) and click once. Â This used to make the grid line a more solid blue and witness line dimensions appeared. Â Now the cursor becomes a "move cursor" (four arrows), the grid line highlight disappears and there are no witness lines.
Nothing is pinned. Â The vertical grid pattern is not fixed. Â I've restarted Revit and I still can't select a grid line like before.

This problem started when I tried to change a grid line in a curtain wall that I forgot was part of a group. Â It let me select the grid line and when I changed the witness line dimension value there was an error message with no information except for entity ID and a cancel button. Â After that I could no longer select grid lines in this project. Â If I copy and paste a curtain wall from the project to a default (see attached) I cannot select there either. Â I can still select grid lines in other older projects, however.Â

I'm trying to itemize every grid in the project and then export it to a text file. Grids are not an option under the schedule/quantities or material takeoffs. I'm not sure where else to start.
I'm using Revit 2012.Â
I'm having a bit of trouble using a curtain wall BIM model that I downloaded from a manufacturer's web site.

It seems like the vertical mullions are not centered on the grid lines; one side of the mullion is 1 3/16" from the grid line while the other is 1 13/16" away. If you look at the mullion in plan, you'll see the same issue. If you look at the profile rfa file, it appears that the centerline is properly located and locked, it's just in the project file where it's off.

 If I select the mullion in the browser the right-click, Make Element Editable is grayed out.
 If I select the mullion in the drawing area, un-pin it and then right-click, Edit Family is grayed out.
 If i select the mullion in the drawing area then click Edit Type, the Type Properties dialog box shows the two parameters in the Dimensions group, "Width on side 2" and "Width on side 1", that are uneven by the same amount that the mullion is off of the grid line. I suspect that this the issue, but these are both grayed out and I can't locate their origin. If I duplicate the mullion, those parameters are still grayed out.I can save the profile, but not the mullion, which is showing the issue and contains the parameters that I want to change. How I can select and edit the mullion?
There is a way of controlling how much some objetcs extend outside the scope box? The levels, sections and grids extend too much to my taste and the space avaliable in my sheet.
