I'm trying to create a 3 digit grid bubble that will align vertically along an elevation, but my grid bubble in use within the project insists on the text being horizontal... Is there any way to force the alignment to vertical...?
View 2 RepliesI've created a non-symmetrical curtain wall mullion profile. When I assign that profile to a vertical curtain grid line, it is flipped in the project. In the attached image, you can see that the brace on the right in the family plan view is on the left in the project plan view.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe are looking for a column grid bubble dynamic block that will allow us to place horizontal or vertical grid lines while the text in the bubble remains in the upright position.
Another thing we need is to allow for column lines close together without overlapping bubbles. In other words, we need to have the ability to have a diagonal line from the bottom or side of the bubble to the column line which allows us to have all bubbles aligned no matter how close the columns grid lines are.
The attribute in the bubble has to be able to have XX.X to fit within the bubble with the first to X's to be either Alpha or Numeric and the last X to be Numeric only.
Can this be made to be Annotative too?
I'm trying to edit some existing alignments. When I create new entities, they do not show up in the alignment grid view. Why is this?

Launching alignment grid view/alignment entities,
I’m wondering if there is a way to launch alignment grid view/alignment entities (attached) without the need to first launching “alignment”? This dialogue box is quite essential in editing the values of radius, degree of curvature and deflection angle for the selected curve.
I want my leader line to always have an 'invisible extension' that goes through the centre of the bubble (unlike the attached image)
how do I do this?
Is there a way to tweak the boundary of callout bubble?
For example, if my wall section is cropped in to a L shape that includes the footing. Can the callout boundary looking like an L shape as well instead of a big wide rectangle?
The vertical text alignment of text frames has no effect at all.
Whatever I choose (top/middle/bottom/justified) the text will always align on top of the frame.
When I go into Multiline Text edit, the edit box is vertical instead of horizontal. So, i must edit in a vertical fashion. Upon completion, the text remains vertical and I must take the time to rotate it to horizontal. I do have WYSIWYG checked, but it still goes vertical if it's not checked. Also, it starts out (before editing) horizontal. The font is Ariel. AutoCAD 2010.
View 5 Replies View RelatedRevit has a propensity to locate a lay-in ceiling grid with a grid intersection in the center of the room. You can use the alignment tool to align the grid with a wall. But I see no way to center a tile in a room. This is often a necessity in a narrow room, to keep the lights centered. Also, installers, when not given specific instructions to the contrary, will often locate the ceiling grid to minimize narrow tiles at the wall. We need more control over the position of the grid.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm in the process of going from LDD 2008 to Civil 3D 2012 and I'm having some difficulties with the profiles. In LDD there was a vertical alignment editor for profiles where I could edit the surface profile stations and elevations. Has that feature gone the way of the Dinosaurs or is it in Civil 3D somewhere?
Once in a while the profile doesn't pick up a curb line or a change in elevation. Its just simpler sometimes to add a station and elevation without going in and spending time editing the surface so the profile reads correctly.
I have a problem with the display of the text string when creating a dimension, been through all the options within the styles manager however no option to display the text to the right of the dim line, it always defaults text to inside the dim line, where the option to toggle alignment of text on a vertical dimension line is ?

the vertical grid is not showing up even though is turned on in view style! tried different things but nothing seems to work, and the horizontal grid doesn't clip to the profile even though i select the option! it goes way up until profile frame!

Basically, I have two workplanes which are parallel to each other and offset by a certain distance. As illustrated in the picture below, I'd like to constrain points from each plane to have the same vertical alignment as those from the other plane (horizontal too, I suppose, but the horizontal dimension will be the same anyways).

The only issue that my project manager and I have with it is that the profile lines themselves run from station limit to station limit, and therefore the profile lines run through the vertical (elevation) numbers. Is there a way to adjust the vertical (elevation) grid marks to clean this up?

i have an issue in with my created sheets that does not show vertical alignment data. everything on the bands shows up nicely but the lines, curves and labels profile are missin.

Can I turn off the begin and end vertical grid of a profile? Currently it can be turned off using the GRID AT VERTICAL MAJOR, even though I'm starting/ending my profile view at stations that are neither major (100') nor minor (50').

Is there a way to setup vertical alignment of text in a cell for the entire table, when using Table Tool? It is possible for a single cell, but when selecting a table (or multiple cells) this option is not available.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI need to model a wall in plan which has a section that is inset on one side. The inset having beveled faces. I have achieved this using a vertical wall reveal with a profile to suit the shape of the inset. This works very well until I place a door in the centre of the wall where the reveal has reduced its width, the reveal disappearing and the door appearing in a full width wall.
Does this mean that a reveal cannot be used in this way and that I should find another way of modelling the reduced width wall? See drawings below:
My problem is trying to move the project model to a new elevation some 1000+ feet higher than the 0'0" schematic design elevation. When using the "shared" solution, it will work for the model but not for the Topo as the topo is also tied to the Project base point, so when one uses shared it also moves the topo map 1000+ feet higher. I'm trying to find a way where the project elevation can be adjusted to the base point elevation so both topo and model elevations coordinate with each other. It's a 4 level project with many exterior retaining wall levels. I'm almost to the point of doing a full copy of the project to the clipboard and then importing it at the level 1000+ feet higher.

I tried using two 'half joints', but as soon as I align them I lose the option to snap to the side of the reveal in the center of the joint. The attached image shows both attempts. No matter what I try, an error message comes up saying "can't rotate element into this position".Have tried creating new panel, renaming it, etc. The panel seems to have a constraint of some sort that I cannot override.
