CorelDRAW X6 :: Vertical Alignment Not Working
Jun 17, 2012The vertical text alignment of text frames has no effect at all.
Whatever I choose (top/middle/bottom/justified) the text will always align on top of the frame.

Jan 18, 2012Is there a way to setup vertical alignment of text in a cell for the entire table, when using Table Tool? It is possible for a single cell, but when selecting a table (or multiple cells) this option is not available.

Oct 23, 2012When I go into Multiline Text edit, the edit box is vertical instead of horizontal. So, i must edit in a vertical fashion. Upon completion, the text remains vertical and I must take the time to rotate it to horizontal. I do have WYSIWYG checked, but it still goes vertical if it's not checked. Also, it starts out (before editing) horizontal. The font is Ariel. AutoCAD 2010.

Sep 3, 2013I'm in the process of going from LDD 2008 to Civil 3D 2012 and I'm having some difficulties with the profiles. In LDD there was a vertical alignment editor for profiles where I could edit the surface profile stations and elevations. Has that feature gone the way of the Dinosaurs or is it in Civil 3D somewhere?
Once in a while the profile doesn't pick up a curb line or a change in elevation. Its just simpler sometimes to add a station and elevation without going in and spending time editing the surface so the profile reads correctly.

Sep 21, 2012Basically, I have two workplanes which are parallel to each other and offset by a certain distance. As illustrated in the picture below, I'd like to constrain points from each plane to have the same vertical alignment as those from the other plane (horizontal too, I suppose, but the horizontal dimension will be the same anyways).

May 18, 2011I'm using Autocad LT 2012 and ortho is only working vertical. Circles appear as straight lines and arcs won't draw at all. If I copy an object or text from another drawing, it pastes as a straight line. I also can't rotate anything except vertically.

Oct 4, 2008My CS3 has been crashing every single time I work with a portrait style image... I don't have any other issues except this one.
I can open the raw file and edit it, but when I create a new canvas and move the file over into the new canvas it freezes and crashes... I can do the exact same thing with a landscape style image and it never even flinches. My computer easily meets the requirements to run CS3, so I don't know what the issue is since it only occurs with vertical images.

Oct 9, 2013For an intersection, I am trying to create an alignment and profile from the Lane (edge of traveled way) of my main road for the intersection lanes to tie to. I just did this yesterday on this same corridor without any issue, but today it doesn't create the alignment correctly. It doesn't actually follow the feature line that I select. The alignment is in orange and the green line is the lane line. Notice that the alignment isn't following the lane line.
What would cause this? It worked fine doing the exact same thing yesterday, but today it's not.

AutoCAD Dynamic Blocks :: Alignment Grip Not Working In Viewport 2011LT
Dec 5, 2011I've made a dynamic block that consists of two lots of attributed text and has the alignment function in it but the alignment part doesn't work when looking through a viewport into modelspace ie i can move it by grapping the alignment grip point - it won't move at all. If i'm in the model tab the block works fine exactly how i made it. I'm the only person in my offie with 2011lt so i don't know if it is my computer or if it is a setting in 2011lt. It works fine in 2011 full and a few other versions around here aswell.

Aug 2, 2012The problem is that when I choose or designate an outline thickness, the horizontal is much thicker than the vertical. I need consistency. Especially noticeable if I modify a font, enlarge it, stretch or skew. I do set the outline to scale with image and also don't outline until I am finished with the modifications.

When I have the text tool selected and click to to start typing, it always types vertical instead of horizontal. How can I change the setting of this? I can't find any options for this in the customization.

Mar 15, 2011How do you generate vertical text in X5? In Photoshop CS5 the text tool has has the option for vertical or horizontal text. I haven't been able to figure it out in Corel. I'm sure I am missing something simple. In the paragraph formatting dialog box there is a vertical text option that is greyed out (not axctive) so it looks like the verical text is intiated using another method.

Jan 11, 2013I understand that Alignment Guides options (Ctrl + J) allow you to change the color of the alignment guides. This does not work for me. I'm wondering if this is a known bug or if there's something else in my set up that would prevent me from substituting the subtle, pale blue for something better. When on the options screen, it looks as if it is accepting the color change; but when I go back to document, there is no change. Furthermore, when I open up the option box again, the same darn pale blue is back with a vengeance!
I think the alignment guides is a great feature, one that could be much more useful to me if I could see them better.

Can I change the Elements 8 format to work in a vertical format to accommodate the larger size possible with a vertical image. It is difficult to manipulate the functions in Elements when the mouse is working in a horizontal mode and you are viewing a large image in a vertical format. If the format of the Elements 8 software can be changes to vertical, any protocol (directions) to accomplish this?

Feb 12, 2013While using the 3D extrude and bevel tool, specifically the isometric preset from the position drop down menu. I am noticing that when I expand the shape (in this case a perfect cube), the vertical paths are not exactly perfect, and are not truly vertical, but off slightly. Is this something that can be fixed or adjusted in the settings, or is this how the tool works?

In X5, if I selected artistic text that had the property of being left justified, and then if I changed the property to centered or right justified, the text didn't move. In versions previous to X3, and also in X6, the text moves. This is especially frustrating if I want it to remain in place within an object grouping structure.

For example, if I want an image to touch a border an I use the match position command [eyedropper tool], the border will align according to its central axis. What I want to do is that the border should align by its external edge. I want coreldraw to consider the thickness of the border while aligning things. How can I do it?

This does not occur when aligning objects, nor text with an object.This only occurs (as far as I can tell) when aligning two or more sets of text alone.
When I enter the align and distribute window the vertical align checkboxes are greyed out with "Top" selected.
It is not possible to uncheck or select any other vertical align option. It is possible to "force" the window to deselect it by selecting "top" in the distribute tab, but this does not make the align options selectable again.
You can workaround this by creating a temporary object to align with your text.
