What is the best method available to align text for a newspaper using corel. Say i have a layout which has a set of standard boxes. How can i make sure that when i type into the boxes the text automatically aligns itself.
I have recently installed Draw X6 and I was using X5 before. I noticed a default setting has changed for text alignment. In X5, if I selected artistic text that had the property of being left justified, and then if I changed the property to centered or right justified, the text didn't move. In versions previous to X3, and also in X6, the text moves. This is especially frustrating if I want it to remain in place within an object grouping structure.
This is a problem that comes from previous versions. When applying a figure using Wrap resource to a Paragraph Text in columns: most of times the basis of the text is not aligned correctly.
Is there a way to setup vertical alignment of text in a cell for the entire table, when using Table Tool? It is possible for a single cell, but when selecting a table (or multiple cells) this option is not available.
Is it possible to change the alignment of text within a text area?
By default the text is located top left. Horizontal justification can make this top center or top right, but how about bottom left / center / right or even middle left / center / right?
I understand that Alignment Guides options (Ctrl + J) allow you to change the color of the alignment guides. This does not work for me. I'm wondering if this is a known bug or if there's something else in my set up that would prevent me from substituting the subtle, pale blue for something better. When on the options screen, it looks as if it is accepting the color change; but when I go back to document, there is no change. Furthermore, when I open up the option box again, the same darn pale blue is back with a vengeance!
I think the alignment guides is a great feature, one that could be much more useful to me if I could see them better.
Is there a simple way to align 2 objects edge to edge? I can draw 2 lines that are parallel and apart the distance equal to the sum of the 2 objects, then do alignments of the objects separately (Top of one to top of the 2 lines, then bottom of the other to the bottom of the 2 lines and so on) which accomplishes what I want, but is there a quicker way?
Borders usually align through their central axis. For example, if I want an image to touch a border an I use the match position command [eyedropper tool], the border will align according to its central axis. What I want to do is that the border should align by its external edge. I want coreldraw to consider the thickness of the border while aligning things. How can I do it?
i want to write a paragraph and then make sure that the edges line up perfectly .. like how they do it in newspaper columns.
for more detail:
for example, some lines will have regular letter spacing and then the next line might have a smaller word so that it needs to make it the same size as the line about so it makes the spacing between letters a little bigger so that the two lines look the same width
I want to align an object (i.e a rectangle) for example to be in possition x:15cm and y:12,5cm but concerning the edge of the rectangle (or the right/left side of the rectangle) and NOT the center of it.
How to customize the properties of the alignment???
I work for a very large Electrical company in Toronto and we are having problems with one of our major clients (happens to be one of the biggest design construction companies in Toronto).
They designed the job with Microstation and the contractor and sub trades on site all use Autocad. However we have to edit all the original drawings from the designer with Autocad to do the as built drawings and then transfer them back into DGN for the submittals.
However despite all our efforts every time we transfer them in Autocad the text alignment is off. including the dimensions which for what ever reason show up upside down?
Now we are talking about thousands of drawings here so any easy way to convert files from dgn to dwg and have it work out perfectly.
When I go into Multiline Text edit, the edit box is vertical instead of horizontal. So, i must edit in a vertical fashion. Upon completion, the text remains vertical and I must take the time to rotate it to horizontal. I do have WYSIWYG checked, but it still goes vertical if it's not checked. Also, it starts out (before editing) horizontal. The font is Ariel. AutoCAD 2010.
A few months ago I upgraded my aging office workstation to a powerful new system running Windows 8 Professional. CorelDRAW X5 refused to install under Win 8 Pro so I had to upgrade to CorelDRAW X6.
Here's the issue: for the longest time, at least through 10 or more versions of CorelDRAW, it was very easy to align nodes. Just use the shape tool, manually shift+click nodes into the selection and the last node selected would stay locked in place. The other nodes would use the last node selected as the point of reference and align to it.
That doesn't work anymore in CorelDRAW X6.
Now, it doesn't matter which points were clicked first or last. The alignment function always uses the earliest point created in the path as the reference point. And that's just downright useless. I'm forced to drag out guides and snap the points to them -like I'm using an app released in 1990. It makes tasks like technical drawing more time consuming.
Is there some setting buried in Preferences that can restore this very basic but extremely valuable function?
BTW, rival app Adobe Illustrator had finally added controlled anchor point alignment in version CS3 or CS4 (I forget which), but it was a kludge to use -it required extra clicks on anchor points and wouldn't work half the time. The feature seems to be gone in CS6.
I created an alignment style specifically to label typical sections. My label style includes a triangular symbol (XSM) and alignment reference text (XSL) attached to the symbol. The label attaches correctly to the alignment geometry points (POB and POE) but the alignment reference text which should call the alignment name instead shows three question marks. At no point in the process am I prompted to select an alignment which is as expected. The label should automatically populate with the alignment name. The label properties indicate the appropriate alignment as the reference object.

If a balloon style is set to "Linear" the text in that balloon is automatically left aligned. If a balloon style is set to "None" the text in that balloon is automatically center aligned.
Is it possible to create a balloon with the balloon style set to "None", and have the text left aligned in a drawing document. Typically the balloon text is more that one line . The new line in inserted by pressing ctrl+Enter in the override value of the balloon.
I tried to place the text ABCDE inside of one rectangle (drawn by polyline), in such a way that, the text should be exactly at "Middle Centre" of that rectangle.
I could achieve this 90% purely by my own judgment.
Even when, I tried to draw a rectangle just to touch all 4 sides vertices of the text ABCDE, I could not get any OSNAP points on the text to start a line. Can we treat a "Text" object the way we deal with any other geometrical object - Rectangle, Square, Circle, Triangle or Ellipse?
I have a number of textures of marble, stone, rock... much of which I use in construction projects within Second Life where I am a Builder.
I have a small project in the works to produce a stone structure; that has some text engraved into the stone. I have the text typed up in MS Word. But when I copy/paste that into Paint.net; there is no left/right/center alignment; and the text has no 'word wrap'... it just pastes it all as one single reeealllllly long single spaced line... like there is no bounding box to contain it. Further more, I am not sure how I could make it appear as though it were 'engraved' ...
Now I do know how to make/add Layers... I use Paint.net often to manipulate many of my existing Second Life textures that I buy from within Second Life, and upload onto my computer to 'tweak' them. Sometimes I'll add an alpha transparency layer of Spanish Moss to a Stone Wall, for example, then re-upload that back into SL.. and I now have a building with stone walls, and spanish moss hanging over the walls to give it more unique look.
I know I can create a "layer" of Text, that can then be added over a stone or marble texture image...But I can't figure out how to get that text to wrap or center, or appear engraved
How would I acquire these features, is there a plugin that does all this for text?
I've seen this done often in logo designs, but how do you arc text while keeping the vertical alignment as well as a straight line along the top, so essentially just the bottoms of the letters form an arc? I want the end result to look like the text below (I took the image from a tutorial for another program, but it seemed very complicated, messing with each letter node) is there a simpler way in Illustrator CC to achieve this? I know you can type on a path along an ellipse, but that doesn't keep the letters aligned vertically. I'd like for the top to remain straight across, and just the bottom of the letters form that shape of an arc.
I'm attempting to migrate from Fireworks to PS so I can access and learn more features and tools. One of the reasons I like FW is that simple things like aligning objects and layers, for example, to the center, top or bottom of the page is easy. I can't seem to achieve this very simple task in my version of PS CS5. For instance, to center a layer, I'm supposed to select another layer to reference it to? However, when I do this, the align function realigns the other layer I'm using as a reference too. I keep reading that the align tool can't affect a single layer. If this is the case, why have an alignment tool at all? It's a very confusing feature!
My question is this: can photoshop align seperate layers individually? Or should I continue to do that work, layout and design, in Fireworks and then save and import as a .psd file to finish my work in PS? (I know that PS is a great photo editing tool but I'm not sure if it is optimized for graphic design work like Fireworks is.)
Trail version of ProX5. I have made labels in a project and have set the text alignment to "center", but when I switch to the other label, it does not remember my text setting, sets back to left justify. Happens on both labels. Each time I go from one label to the next it asks me to save, I do this, but center justify still does not save.
just wondering if any of you know the command that I can use in order to align my text in papr space. I'm running 2011 and 2013 C3D. I have several callouts that are in a row, and I COULD draw a line straight down and just move them all to it, but that's a very inefficient way of getting this done. At the last company I worked, we had a command in the system simply called LINEUP that would align any text we wanted either horizontally or vertically. If this is a button I can create with code or whatever, I could try to do that too, if necessary. Just might take me a while to do the code, but I know there's a more efficient way of performing this task.
I am using autocad 2000, 2007 and 2013. Once i placed the arabic text with right alignment in my drawing and save and close the drawing. the same drawing if we open in another session/ system those arabic texts are moved towards left without any reason.
But if we double click on the arabic text, then it sit in correct place. What is the resolution for this issue?
I have attached 2 snapshots for ref. one is correct alignment and other is misplaced.
I am trying to update the companies linetypes to utilities the text alignment in linetypes added in the 2012 version. I have added the "U" setting to the linetypes, but don't understand why the text is not centering after being flipped. Below is the overhead line:
*OHL,OVER HEAD LINES ----OHL--------OHL--------OHL----
I've created a dynamic block that simply flips a connector input from a connector output. Like This:
Attachment 26540
But if you put more than three numbers after the L- prefix, the alignment gets screwed up. Is there a way to change text alignment in a dynamic block? Or, conversely, what do the Align and Fit justifications do? Could I make those work for this purpose?
I have a problem with the display of the text string when creating a dimension, been through all the options within the styles manager however no option to display the text to the right of the dim line, it always defaults text to inside the dim line, where the option to toggle alignment of text on a vertical dimension line is ?

when I align a piexe of text to the right, the text moves to the left..I'm changing the alignment, NOT the position.Ok, if I have 150 different texts, every single text moves to the right. This is because all the text are imported, so by default they are left aligned. So I have to re-align every single text's postiton again, one-by-one, to put back in it's place. Is there a way to prevent this annoying behavior?
