I am trying to update the companies linetypes to utilities the text alignment in linetypes added in the 2012 version. I have added the "U" setting to the linetypes, but don't understand why the text is not centering after being flipped. Below is the overhead line:
*OHL,OVER HEAD LINES ----OHL--------OHL--------OHL----

I need to show contour lines that have the elevations embedded in the line. Is there any way to create a line type that will allow me to select and/or change the text to be embedded in the line, without having to define a unique linetype for each elevation?

I tired to edit the default linetype file even it doesnot appear in the linetype manger windo.

I am using the DWGPublishToGE tool in AutoCAD Map 3D 2012. I can get the images and blocks to finally show up in a fairly clear manner. I was using earlier versions of AutoCAD before and everything was exporting all choppy.
Now that I have the linework in I was hoping to accomplish two more things:
The line types aren't coming across properly (e.a.: dashed lines are continuous)The text, both within blocks and along the path, only comes in as text. It's not fixed to where it is in the drawing. For example, if I have a block with HH in it the line work comes in normally but the text part of the block does not.
See my two images I have attached. The first is the CAD version and what I am hoping to get to in GE. The second is what is happening in GE.
I’ve got some questions about custom line types:
1.How do I create Custom Line types that have specific TEXT in it? Like -----L-I-N-E-----
2.Then How do I load that Custom Line type every time I open a new CAD File Dwg.?
I need to do it quickly with many text regions. How to make line boundary around multi-line text region corresponding to text mask?

The next thing I'm trying now is to use a leader line without arrows, that works better, you can bend that little rascal all over the place.

we got cad files from an older survey done for a realtor. Everything was in pretty bad shape, with blocks everywhere. Since then the drawings have been cleaned up significantly. But I am having issues with two line types referencing a .shx file we don't have. The line types will not come out in a purge or manual delete efforts. I tried to do a filter by linetype but it continues to feed back 0 selected. I am wondering if the line types are used in a block definition that isn't drawn anywhere on the screen.
Is there a way to determine what linetypes are used in what blocks? Ultimately once the lines that use the two linetypes are located they will be changed to a different one and purged out of the drawing.
i have line types i created for telco and electric...basically a letter T within lines and a letter E within lines. they look just fine in one drawing but now i'm in another drawing started by someone else and i need to use them but the letters are tiny and off center.
View 9 Replies View Relatedim trying to create line types using the MKLTYPE command , im creating the text and the lines and the text in paperspace and im using annotative text (2mm height fixed) . ie: dashed line 100mm "WA" and another 100mm of dashed line (--------WA---------) , I Need this line in any scale to act the same.
Ive tried many times but the text size is bigger then 2mm and the lines override the text.
I have to ask one quetion that in my cad file there is lots of unused fonts & linetype which actual is not in use but still not deeted from that file
View 8 Replies View RelatedWe've having an office wide problem of drawings getting bogged down with, in some cases, hundreds of linetypes. Not sure where the source of the problem is coming from but as we contiunally use the drawings they keep gaining more and more linetypes, like a snowball rolling down a hill, and the files become so large they are almost unusable. The linetypes don't purge out of the drawing and are not connected to anything. I've tried everything I can think of to clear out the linetypes and the only thing that seems to work is wblocking them. Which when we're talking about hundreds of projects consisting of hundreds of files is a lot of work. We do wblock the drawings in a project on occasion to keep the files usable but they just become infected again eventually.
What might work to clean them up on a batch basis? I've attached a file that's infected so you can take a look. This is a file that has never had anything xref'd into it and was created as a brand new file when originally created. At some point over the last 3 weeks it got infected with the linetype disease.
When I import shape files the polylines will not take the layer style I move them to. They stay a continuous linetype. Linetype and Lineweight is set to ByLayer. Only difference between the new lines and the lines drawing correctly is the lines that stay continuous are 3D polylines and the correct ones are normal polylines. What I need to do to make the imported lines accept my layer linetypes?

“Rotate” and “Align” are possible commands to align the text with particular line. Parallel constrain is another option to do so but will make the drawing “busy” with additional parameter.
Equally, what if I need to make a block parallel to a particular line? In this case, the “parallel constrain” doesn’t work! Just I may take the advantage of “rotate” and “align”..What I wanted to know if there is a more brilliant way to get the“text” or “block” PARALLEL to a particular line with a smart tool.
Is there any way to control the line spacing when you have text within a cell of a table? Specifically I want to change the spacing to act similar to 'EXACTLY 1.0' like in the MTEXT editor. Please see the included dwg.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to change the text line width in model space, not the overall text width or the text line width/weight in paper space. Our mold maker wants to measure that on screen and he wants to set the text line width to 0.060”, while the overall text width fixed.
For example, the text “REMOVE FROM BOAT” is 3” wide total from first letter R to last letter T and height 0.4”. That is easy to do. The hard part is that he wants the line in each letter to be 0.060” (1.5mm) wide. I practiced the true type text which is measurable in model space, but that is fixed with for a certain font with a certain size. I can change from one font to the other and get different thickness but cannot change the width freely to 1.5mm as requested.
I have a couple of different files that I'm working on that I want a particular text box left-justified. I will get it left-justified and save the file, but the next time the file is opened the text is centered.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIf I place a dimension and have text above and below the dimension line (using X), and then grip edit the dimension text to move it for space/clarity on plans, the text above and below the line will mysteriously move closer to the line. If I have backgrounds applied to the text, which I normally do, the backgrounds will cover the line. Even without the background, it looks odd next to other dimensions that were not grip edited.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use Mtext quite a bit and I am trying to convince others in the office that it's a good thing (versus single line text in long paragraphs). One of their concerns in the shape of the Mtext. For instance, when you use Mtext, you type into a nice rectangle that you can change the size of. What they have to do on occassion is instead of having a nice rectangle of text, they have to make it like a triangle. So in this case, single line text can be adjusted so that the end of the sentences make an angle.
Is there a way to do this using mtext? Or is there an lsp that will work?
I am trying to import thousands of pictures into Lightroom as I have a mess of pictures do to a long story...But basically I have probably 30,000 pictures in a bunch of folders that I want to import.
One issue I have found is that I don't want to import TIFF, BMP, GIF, or things like PNG. I really only want jpg files or jpeg files unless I stumble across others in another format I haven't found yet.
Can I set something during the import? I have searched the forums and internet, but haven't found anything that mentions this.
How to clean up a mess like this where I have 30,000 pictures but probably only need 10,000 as there are duplicates upon duplicates due to having to move the pictures around in a hurry as I had a mess in my basement during a storm a couple years ago.
I draw an alignment for road. I turned off design criteria and i used data from manual for my country Slovenia. I need spiral in, curve and spiral out on alignment. Finally i got that alignment. Then i insert sample lines along the alignment. Then i saved autocad civil 3d file and shut down the program. When i reopen file, i see that sample lines after the spiral in being erased. Sample lines stayed along first tangent, after that they were erased.
