How do I purge or delete the printers/plotters from the list in the plot set up dialog. I have several that go to the same machine but are not config'd correctly or just simply not used. Can I get rid of them so I don't have to sort through when plotting?
Also, what about the list of sheet set ups in the plot dialog?
I created some new custom line types using express tool featute in autocad and I saved it with a .lin extension. It is only available in that drawing itself. How I canget those line type in all my new drawings.
I tired to edit the default linetype file even it doesnot appear in the linetype manger windo.

how to purge PDF files from your Drawing? I tried using the Image command, but it doesn't list PDF underlay's anymore. I've tried just using the purge command but it doesn't show up there either. The way I know it's there after I delete it is, (1) The drawing file is STILL really slow and (2) it shows up as a required file when I do an etransmit. Which also makes the etransmit file huge as well.
how to purge them without wblocking the file to itself?
I have received some architectural models which were modeled in AutoCAD MEP and only have walls modeled as type Standard. Is there a way to transform Standard walls into cavity walls etc., giving wall makeup as you go - or do I have to re-model in order to get quality 2D cuts?
Having something very strange happen out of the blue.Have wall types like lightweight block (Component Priority = 300) and stud gyp walls (Component Priority = 500) suddenly cleaning up w/ each other.
Hasn't been happening before when base lines extend to each other, but suddenly on this new project they are.
I am expanding on my modeling w/ this project. I taken another step in 3D modeling w/ ACA and am extending walls vertically to multiple floors and referencing the base floor plan into (below) the base file of the second floor. Everything is working as I expected and set up EXCEPT for this one thing. Hard to point to this as the difference because I'm having this issue on the first floor....where the reference issue is not part of the equation.
Also, know there is a way for my lightweight block walls on the second floor to clean up/merge w/ lightweight block of the exterior walls being referenced in...but can't find where that "check box"/switch is. Found it many moons ago, but didn't need it then.
I need to show contour lines that have the elevations embedded in the line. Is there any way to create a line type that will allow me to select and/or change the text to be embedded in the line, without having to define a unique linetype for each elevation?
I am using the DWGPublishToGE tool in AutoCAD Map 3D 2012. I can get the images and blocks to finally show up in a fairly clear manner. I was using earlier versions of AutoCAD before and everything was exporting all choppy.
Now that I have the linework in I was hoping to accomplish two more things:
The line types aren't coming across properly (e.a.: dashed lines are continuous)The text, both within blocks and along the path, only comes in as text. It's not fixed to where it is in the drawing. For example, if I have a block with HH in it the line work comes in normally but the text part of the block does not.
See my two images I have attached. The first is the CAD version and what I am hoping to get to in GE. The second is what is happening in GE.
What type of line are you using to show electrical wiring in a house, I've used the arc line and I really don't like the flexibility of that, it want bend like I want it to. The next thing I'm trying now is to use a leader line without arrows, that works better, you can bend that little rascal all over the place.
we got cad files from an older survey done for a realtor. Everything was in pretty bad shape, with blocks everywhere. Since then the drawings have been cleaned up significantly. But I am having issues with two line types referencing a .shx file we don't have. The line types will not come out in a purge or manual delete efforts. I tried to do a filter by linetype but it continues to feed back 0 selected. I am wondering if the line types are used in a block definition that isn't drawn anywhere on the screen.
Is there a way to determine what linetypes are used in what blocks? Ultimately once the lines that use the two linetypes are located they will be changed to a different one and purged out of the drawing.
i have line types i created for telco and electric...basically a letter T within lines and a letter E within lines. they look just fine in one drawing but now i'm in another drawing started by someone else and i need to use them but the letters are tiny and off center.
I am trying to update the companies linetypes to utilities the text alignment in linetypes added in the 2012 version. I have added the "U" setting to the linetypes, but don't understand why the text is not centering after being flipped. Below is the overhead line:
*OHL,OVER HEAD LINES ----OHL--------OHL--------OHL----
im trying to create line types using the MKLTYPE command , im creating the text and the lines and the text in paperspace and im using annotative text (2mm height fixed) . ie: dashed line 100mm "WA" and another 100mm of dashed line (--------WA---------) , I Need this line in any scale to act the same.
Ive tried many times but the text size is bigger then 2mm and the lines override the text.
We've having an office wide problem of drawings getting bogged down with, in some cases, hundreds of linetypes. Not sure where the source of the problem is coming from but as we contiunally use the drawings they keep gaining more and more linetypes, like a snowball rolling down a hill, and the files become so large they are almost unusable. The linetypes don't purge out of the drawing and are not connected to anything. I've tried everything I can think of to clear out the linetypes and the only thing that seems to work is wblocking them. Which when we're talking about hundreds of projects consisting of hundreds of files is a lot of work. We do wblock the drawings in a project on occasion to keep the files usable but they just become infected again eventually.
What might work to clean them up on a batch basis? I've attached a file that's infected so you can take a look. This is a file that has never had anything xref'd into it and was created as a brand new file when originally created. At some point over the last 3 weeks it got infected with the linetype disease.
When I import shape files the polylines will not take the layer style I move them to. They stay a continuous linetype. Linetype and Lineweight is set to ByLayer. Only difference between the new lines and the lines drawing correctly is the lines that stay continuous are 3D polylines and the correct ones are normal polylines. What I need to do to make the imported lines accept my layer linetypes?
I am trying to import thousands of pictures into Lightroom as I have a mess of pictures do to a long story...But basically I have probably 30,000 pictures in a bunch of folders that I want to import.
One issue I have found is that I don't want to import TIFF, BMP, GIF, or things like PNG. I really only want jpg files or jpeg files unless I stumble across others in another format I haven't found yet.
Can I set something during the import? I have searched the forums and internet, but haven't found anything that mentions this.
How to clean up a mess like this where I have 30,000 pictures but probably only need 10,000 as there are duplicates upon duplicates due to having to move the pictures around in a hurry as I had a mess in my basement during a storm a couple years ago.
i had been using autocad for almost 10 years now and i always have the newer version for my line of work.
i am having trouble with the excessive styles that shows whenever i copy and paste then the problems occur after that most often. copy paste problems, fatal errors, and my computer hangs most of the time.
I have recently started working on a project in metric and have a weird (to me) issue when I try to plot. There are literally hundreds, of scale options in the Scale popup, most of which make no sense to me. I know that I need 1:25, or 1:100 to fit on the page I am printing to. How do I remove or filter out all of the others such as 1:100 3_1_1_1_1_1? I don't even know what that notation means.
I know that there was a command that would convert single line text to multi-line text but I can not find it. It use to be tt2mt or something like that.
I can not find this command in the help either. Did they get rid of this command like zoom center?
how to take multiple single line text and add them together into one multi-line text?
I'm having a problem with excessive pixelation when using photoshop filters and masking. I've done this process 100's of times, and now this editing technique is creating patches of pixelation. Technique wise, I am on a second layer; I've applied the diffuse glow filter; then I mask the layer; select specific areas I do not want glowed; feather the selection; and then I brush away the effect from my selection. Results wise, the feathered areas and the brushed away areas appear to have holes or patches of the background layer coming through. Usually this is a smooth transition look. Now it's patchy and overpixelated somehow. I'm getting the same affect if the picture is jpg or psd. It is also doing it with just basic curves.
I am baffled why one of the files I modify on a weekly basis (for a weekly coffee shop newsletter) seems to have grown excessively over time. It is 12 pages of 8.5 x 11 size and back in January of this year the file averaged about 12 MB. It has since grown to over 400 MB, but remains at 12 pages. It contains a good mix of text, graphics and bitmaps (all B&W) but nothing that would justify such a huge file size.
We currently use CorelDRAW 15.0.0.486, SP1.
My system is an Intel Pentium G620, 2.60 GHz with 4.00 GB of RAM on 64 Bit Windows 7 Home Premium, SP1.However, I save the file over the network to an AMD Athlon II X3 440, 3.00 GHz with 2.00 GB of RAM on 64 Bit Windows 7 Pro, SP1.
I have tried deleting pages and eliminating elements in the file but it refuses to drop below 400 MB for a saved file size.
I have a Canon EOS 450D and started taking photos in RAW and edited the photos afterwards with the PS RAW editing function. Often, the result on the "RAW screen" is good enough and I do not open PS CS5.
The following happened (I edited nearly 100 photos like this, but printing them was a disaster!). Image during editing in RAW:
Settings:
Setting under image in RAW:
Printing photo- a scan:
Watching the photo for the first time in PS:
What went wrong? Did I sharpen too much and if so, why did the picture still showed very nice on the "RAW" image? The size of most of the photos are more than 10 MB.
how to increase the size of a picture without it getting too pixelated to identify what the image is. The problem I am having is I had to take a screenshot of a picture online and I need to identify specific wording on a small item in someones hand. I tried clicking on resize image and unchecked re-sample image but that is not working either.
I'm using Win 7, 64-bit on a new PC with 16-GB of RAM and plenty of power. I've been editing 40 and 50 MB DNG files for several months with no difficulty. I recently scanned over 1500 old negatives (on a Plustek 7600i) and then imported these tiffs into LR. Again, there were no problems encountered.
I was editing one of these tiff files (27.68 MB) and eventually started to remove all the dust spots and scratches. At first, all went well. However, when I got up to a few hundred of these spot removals, LR4 slowed to a crawl and eventually crashed. The slowdown and crash only occurred whenever I attempted to open this particular tiff and activate the spot removal tool. All other photos opened and edited without problems.
I then tired the same spot removal on a different tiff from my scanned bunch, and encountered the same kind of slowdown and eventual crash of LR.
