Nov 26, 2013I want to engrave the text 'TEST' all the way around this clonal object. When I use the emboss tool, selecting the option 'wrap to face,' it gives me an error message that the "face selected is not tangent to the profile plane."
I am using a work plane that is offset from the XY plane. I included a screen shot and the file that I am using (Inv. 2014)
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Cursor Turns To Circular Shape When Open Particular Drawing
Jan 9, 2014I'm running Autocad 2013 Civil 3d, when I open a particular drawing the cursor turns to a circular shape as if it is downloading something, but it is actually not loading anything. This circular cursor does not let you do anything with the drawing, you just have to keep hitting esc until it gives you a fatal error message that says "FATAL ERROR: Cannot write to undo file (probably disk full)" and it kicks you out of autcad. How to get rid of this ciruclar cursor?

Oct 18, 2005If a balloon style is set to "Linear" the text in that balloon is automatically left aligned. If a balloon style is set to "None" the text in that balloon is automatically center aligned.
Is it possible to create a balloon with the balloon style set to "None", and have the text left aligned in a drawing document. Typically the balloon text is more that one line . The new line in inserted by pressing ctrl+Enter in the override value of the balloon.

Aug 6, 2013I am trying to remove a circular shape from a rectangle in illustrator, the retangles width is 10px and the diameter of the circle is 13px, I centre the circle ontop of the rectangle ( or I appear to) but when I use the Shape mode tool minus front, the circle is no longer centred ( see images).
I have tried switching off smart guides and snap to grid and am still having the same problem.
In the above image you can see once I have divided the 13px circle from the rectangle it has moved off to one side.
Also when I am trying to manually place the circle ( rather than using the centre guides ) I can only move it by a large degree it alway moves further than I move the mouse, could this be because of a pixel grid? I do not think I am using this. ( can see in the above image where I am trying to place the circle and when I let go of the mouse, the grey circle is where it lands.
From the 2 images below you can see that there is a 1px difference on either side of the extracted circle I was trying to get centered.
I should mention that the 'Align to pixel grid' in the transform menu is inactive when I am trying to do this, as I initially thought that this may be the cause of my problems, but it made no difference.

I want to create a circular shaped elevator with a circular fence around it that's roughly half the size of an average sized character standing on it. I then wish it import this as a static mesh into UDK.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Cut Two Circular Profiles On XZ Plane
Jan 23, 2013This sheet metal part has two bends, and was created with a lofted flange feature on the XY plane:
It was then cut by two circular profiles on the XZ plane:
When the flat pattern is created, it seems to work just fine as long as the diameter of the circular cut is below a certain value. Once the diameter is increased beyond this value, the flat pattern returns a cryptic error and does not compute:
I know that the bend geometry does NOT pass through the bend axis, so I am left guessing at what the real problem is. I have attached the part. The part currently has the parameter called "Tank_ID" set to 500 in. To see the error, change the value of this parameter to 600 in. For me, the flat pattern breaks between the values of 512 and 513 in.
Why does the flat pattern work at 512, but not at 513, since there is no significant difference in geometry?
AutoCAD Inventor :: Non-Circular / Non-rectangular Pattern
May 14, 2013I am currently trying to model a multi cavity mould tool. The cavities themselves do not follow either a circular or rectangular pattern.I have modelled one of the cavities using a revolve internal to the tool. I have also sketched out on the upper surface centre points where I need the cavities to be.
I was hoping I would be able to copy the cavity feature, select a base point and then use the centres from my second sketch to place the cavities.
I don't seem to be able to find this option. The copy and paste feature will likely work but it is hugely long winded positioning each cavity individually. Any method I might be able to use to model such a part?

Nov 12, 2013I have modelled a disc, which has 6 cylindrical extrusions in a circular pattern on the disc surface. I want to change the number of occurrences (the "placement") to 9 but the "OK" button is disabled. I get the preview od the 9 occurrences, but it will not complete the command.

Jan 14, 2012I'm creating a logo that consists of the word DIFFERENT in text and a shape, a dot (an ellipse) that I want to appear above the I and be vertically aligned with I.
How can I do this?The problem is that I can't see how to identify the point in the text - the centre of the I - to act as the target. I can't seem to get any of the Snap to Object tools to work.
I feel that I should be able to mark a specific point anywhere on a shape or an object and use those points to align.
I suspect that I could achieve the effect that I want by splitting the text characters up into individual objects, than I can align them more obviously but then I set up some other issues with kerning.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X3 :: Text Within Shape While Precisely Keeping The Shape's Outline
Nov 11, 2011I'm working with CorelDraw X3 and want to fill text into a round shape, while keeping it's exact outline. Hence, cutting of parts of words and letters is fine with me as long as the shape is well-defined. Unfortunately when filling paragraph text into a shape, the automatic line breaks lead to a quite irregular shape regardless of font size.
As workaround I arranged a mask in front of background and text but this requires a square paragraph text which is larger than the background. Since paragraph text obviously cannot be cropped with other objects I made the mask size bigger and filled it white. When exporting my document as image everything looks neat, but there must be a better way to do this in CorelDraw itself?
I tried converting the paragraph text into artistic text and cropping this, which works fine for a few words and a small object. But I'm talking around 1000 words here, and trying to crop this artistic text leads to very random cropping results. I guess such a large number of objects and knots is too much for CorelDraw to handle!?
