i have an issue in with my created sheets that does not show vertical alignment data. everything on the bands shows up nicely but the lines, curves and labels profile are missin.
see the attached image. you can notice from the image that there is no a signle data..
I created a road centerline profile and corridor and then created a profile of the two curb lines from the corridor. The road profile that I made has a vertical curve in it but the curb profiles do not show that information, just grade breaks every 25 feet based on the corridor sampling distance.
I would like to have the vertical curve information on the curb profiles.
Using Civil 3d2012, Is it possible to change the alignment label style set after the alignment has been created? For example, for an alignment that was created with alignment label set X - change the label set to alignment label set Y? It seems like this should be pretty easy, I must be missing something obvious.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI using a data reference/shortcut to properly label an alignment in paperspace. However when I reference the alignment in and apply the labels the aren't the same as the original alignment that I am referencing. Is there a setting where I am supposed to apply a new beginning station.
Also it seems as though the stationing(distance) isn't even matching up 1:1 with the original drawing. For example in the original base drawing my alignment starts at 10+00 with the next PI at 14+76.98, but the stationing on the reference alignment starts at 0+83.33 with the very same PI being labeled as 1+23.08. So the very same distance is 476.98' in the real design and the drawing it's being referenced in, but the stationing of the referenced alignment shows it as 39.75 Units.
I've attached a screen of the beginning of the alignment.

i have created a data band in profile view that should show a created profiles elevation, but some of the the data fields are missing irregulary. Also in the data band that shoud show the diferenece betven the tow profiles - EG and the new profile the data is missing. The EG profiles data and the surface are ok all is shown.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI noticed when you put in vertical parabolic curves onto the profile tangents it will ask you if you want length or k.
however depend on which one you specify. it will hold on to that value when it comes to changing the tangent locations. for what i am doing now i want k by default. but accidentally i put in length because i just went through all the pi's quickly to put in the curves. but i see no control which allows you to control which type to hold. this is a property inside the vertical curve but it's not exposed to user. once you create by length that's it. until you delete the curve and re enter using k then it will hold k.
I have a profile that has a 25' VC (please see attached jpeg) and want to put my PVI Station and Elevation but it doesnt fit in 40 scale (I need it to be in 40 scale). Is there a way I can only change the style for small vertical curves without changing my other styles?

I am using C3D 2011 but could not find that option when creating sample lines in a station range.
I have alignment with 2 curves at the beginning and end that I want to keep. It has a few PIs in between ke that are not supposed to have curves, but Civil 3D added them in (very short 200 ft radius curves), but I need to take all but the first and last curves out.
I tried setting Constraint Editing - toggled OFF lock all parameter constraints. Then I went into the data and tried to change the parameter. Can't get the curve out. Is there a way to convert a PI from one with a curve to one without a curve?
I can't afford to redraw this alignment - it's being referenced via Data Shortcuts to multiple drawings being used by me and my designer / already has my design profiles and existing profiles attached to it.
How to do this? - Delete the curves and make them PIs only? (without curves).
I'm in the process of going from LDD 2008 to Civil 3D 2012 and I'm having some difficulties with the profiles. In LDD there was a vertical alignment editor for profiles where I could edit the surface profile stations and elevations. Has that feature gone the way of the Dinosaurs or is it in Civil 3D somewhere?
Once in a while the profile doesn't pick up a curb line or a change in elevation. Its just simpler sometimes to add a station and elevation without going in and spending time editing the surface so the profile reads correctly.
i've made a serpantine curve that starts from one line of alignment and end on the other line.
i wanted to know how can c change alignment direction when these two feature line and alignment meet each other in order to change the alignment path?
When i try to Add a Alignment Table for curves , and everry time i select the aligment or it's lable , it tells me that no Item Found,now what exactly i'm supposed to select ?

Ok I am attempting to add a floating curve from the end of a simple straight alignment. No matter what I do the curve is created from the left end of the alignment. I first created an alignment from objects. I tried reversing the alignment and it still comes from the same point. I tried creating an alignment and drawing the objects using a fixed line. Still from the same point. How do you get it to create the floating curve from the opposite end?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an alignment file that is xref into multiple dwg files. For the one file, however, the curve plots as "continuous", while the tangents plot as "center". In all the other sheets it plots fine. The alignment styles are good. Looking at it on my screen it looks fine. The xref is on its own layer (not zero or some random layer). All the psltscale, msltscale and celtscales are set to 1. The ltscale is set to .5 (set to 1 doesn't change anything). What am I missing??

I created a new alignment based on a survey topo. The first half of the alignment shows the sections/chainages but the second half does not. My alignment should be line, curve, line, line, curve, line, line, curve, line but when I check the design editor, it only shows the 5 elements. When I check the sub entity it appears some are not assigned numbers which have generated a warning symbol.
Why are the last 4 entities not recognized?
I am currently trying to design a roadway with a reverse curve in it. I am having trouble getting my corridor to model my assembly correctly as it is showing the roadway as the generic assembly and is not adding the superelevation that is shown on my alignment. I have done the following:
1) created an alignment with superelevation wizard - superelevation diagram shows up correctly
2) Created a profile for this alignment
2) created an assembly (Road layer is LaneSuperelevationAOR) in which the right lane is set to use SE on the right outside lane and the left lane is set to use SE on the left outside lane
3) Created a corridor with the assembly and set the width targets to the offset alignments (I.e. the lines that are the edge of pavement)
The corridor does not show the superelevation values based off of the alignments superelevation that it has calculated. I did get the supers to show when i tied the Future EOP to the existing surface, however i do not want it to tie in, I want it to just show the values that were calculated.
Is there a way to get this to show without referencing an additional profile? Also, on my first curve i want to keep the right side at a -2% slope and raise the left side to 2% slope (RC). Is there a way to limit the calcuations to only use a reverse curve?
How can I have an offset alignment that I created be the current label so when I start to pick offset of my current alignment I do not want to have to go back and change the label style to my own label style.

When I make profile sheets the vertical scale (text) if off by 4' (below). I checked all the settings and they appear to be correct. When I make a profile the scale is correctly shown.

But it didn't really work. I can export the XY but not the Z in the report manager.
So my questions are.... How can I create a new report to incorporate the Z? Or is there another way to do it?
I should add I also tried the "Incremental Stationing Reporting" from the Profiles Report... However it doesn't recognize the profiles I've created? I get the "No FG profiles in....." even though there are?
For some reason when I try to "Create Reference" to bring in my Alignment, Finished Ground and Existing Ground I get three different alignment data shortcuts instead of them grouping into one. I am trying to find out where in my workflow this all went wrong.
I have a .dwg that just has my alignment files in it. Then I make a new drawing and data shortcut in those alignments and Surface. I make my profiles and then create the data shortcuts for those. I start a New drawing and try to reference the alignment and profile and I get duplicated that aren't grouped. If you take a look at the two .bmp's you can see what happens.
The Purple highlighted area is how I want it to show up and that one worked just fine. Same work flow. The yellow is what is giving me a hard time.

Is there a way to have a block (called test, for arguments sake) within this block we have text (attribute / fiield or whatever).
Now I have an alignment that has stations set every 10 units and on those stations I have inserted the block "test" as part of the alignment label style.
I can get the block inserting correctly, rotation the direction I require etc but what I need is for this block to report the station number.. ie 10, for the first 20 for the second and so on.
Is this possible?
