View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to do some minor animation with a shaded solid model. I have tried mslide and a script... this make s very jerky, flashing animation.
I tried a lisp routine to move the object in small increments, again the motion is very flashy and slow, as it appears to struggle perhaps with the shading.
I noticed doing a move command, and moving the same object manually, dragging the object around the screen with a mouse makes for pretty smooth motion. Way better than what I was doing.... Is there a way to do this programatically?
My firm is starting a project....the Structural side is going to be don in Revit 3d and our Mechanical side uses Autocad w/Cadworxs for our 3d package. Is it possible to export the Revit steel drawing and import that model into Autocad as an xref?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am very new to Revit (3 days) but am having an issue with the graphics display. When I start a new project from any of the preinstalled templates, the shaded views (with or without edges) do not show any shading and only display HLR. When I create a new family, or open a project from the tutorial downloads, the shading works. Is there a project setting that I am missing? Creating a render of the view shows proper shading/materials, just in the design phase it does not show.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow do I get my part to be transparent in the "Realistic" view like it is with the"Shaded with edges"? This is what it looks like with the view style set to "Shaded with Edges". Notice how it is transparent and you can see thru the part.
Now when I switch to "Realistic", I get this. Anything that is behind this part is not visible.
I want to be able to see thru the part when in the reallistic visual style.
Currrently, we print floor plans to pdf's, open them in Photoshop and make them part transparent and part semi-transparent so that we can overlay them in various visual tools. Is there a way to create pdf's or images where the background is completely transparent and and solid patterns within the floor plan that are semi-transparent?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a solid gray filled region that is set to be transparent that is not being transparent. We are trying to put a gray tone over the existing area of the plan. what is weird is that I did the exact same thing to another view & it works perfectly with the region in the background & all the wals & doors showing up correctly. I can't figure out what is different between one view & another.
I've tried changing the filled region to be "moved to back" but nothing changes. if I override the graphics of the element & change it to be transparent the it goes away all together.
When I zoom in or zoom out the model, normally the dimension will follow the model too.But now in Autocad 2013, even the model size change, the dimension still remain unchange. why? Is there any setting I miss out? URL....

I have a demolition plan where everything is showing up transparent and the floor pattern can be seen through casework, walls, etc. I have checked all the visibility/graphics for the view, the phasing, the object styles, and I can't find anything that indicates why everything would be transparent. When I apply an Vray material to my linked Revit file the material appears extremely large and I cant fix it either by playing around with the scaling of the material or UVW-mapping. I have made sure that both my Revit model and 3DS max are both set to mm.
The scale of the material applied in Revit has the right proportions etc. Its just when I apply a new Vray material it goes wrong.

You may want to check the active view, its Parameters, and Visibility settings. View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to model a parametric simple unit in Revit. So, I decided t use the generic family template. I want to model a rectangular unit with exterior wooden wall and interior steel frame. I have three problems
1- I have imported structural column profile into the family, but my problem is that I cannot align the section to two reference line. For example, I want to align the top of the column to the top exterior wall, and align the left side of the column to the left exterior wall; but I can just assign of these sides.
2- I've imported structural framing family in my generic model, but I cannot assign a parameter to the length of the beam, and the length is constant, and I can change the length just in 3D view. Do you know how to assign a parameter to the length?
3-I couldn't use the predefined walls it the family, so, I used extrusion. But I couldn't use the Revit windows family on the extrusion walls. Is there any way to use the predefined wall systems in Revit to be able to use the windows families?
