I have a demolition plan where everything is showing up transparent and the floor pattern can be seen through casework, walls, etc. I have checked all the visibility/graphics for the view, the phasing, the object styles, and I can't find anything that indicates why everything would be transparent. I have another project where all of the settings appear to be the same that shows up correctly.
View 1 RepliesI have a renovation project that I have entered the building in a existing phase. I used the demolition tool to show work removed on a demo plan. I created a new construction plan and set the phase to "New Construction and the phase filter to "Show previous + new" . The problem is that all work to be demolished appears as existing and new work appears on the demo plan as existing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a solid gray filled region that is set to be transparent that is not being transparent. We are trying to put a gray tone over the existing area of the plan. what is weird is that I did the exact same thing to another view & it works perfectly with the region in the background & all the wals & doors showing up correctly. I can't figure out what is different between one view & another.
I've tried changing the filled region to be "moved to back" but nothing changes. if I override the graphics of the element & change it to be transparent the it goes away all together.
I am working in a project where I need to represent the reflecting ceiling edges in the plan view. I put the first floor plan as underlay, and selected the RCP projection but I don't see the dropped ceiling lines to select them with the linework command. I have done every thing possible with the view range but I don't see the lines.

I made an alignment, profile, build an assembly with it's constraints (2:1 until a certain elevation and then 3:1 to the existing ground), and made a surface from that corridor.
Now i wanted to know this : How do i generate a polyline with the assembly information ?
Using : Autodesk Civil 3D 2012
OS : Windows 7 - 64 bit pro
I have 7 manholes in my network, only 3 of them are visibile in the model tab though.
There is structure label on all of the manholes
I can use select similar to mark them and i get "Structure (7)".
I can even see them in the object viewer.
AutoCad 2011 & Civil3D 2011. Product Version 3.

Currrently, we print floor plans to pdf's, open them in Photoshop and make them part transparent and part semi-transparent so that we can overlay them in various visual tools. Is there a way to create pdf's or images where the background is completely transparent and and solid patterns within the floor plan that are semi-transparent?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI made the building, and after I had to change the elevation levels, and after I did this, I copyed some furniture from the level 1, to the level 2. Some of the furniture was copyed the right way, but all the chairs from the plan are missing. I tought maybe they've been deletel, but I try put new chairs, and they also don't appear in the second level only. When I went to 3D view, i saw there are there, at the right level where they should be. I dont know why they don't appear in plan. And also I noticed the interior walls are grey, and not white in the plan. Also, when I go to ground floor, and put underlay level 1, I see the chairs there in the underlay, not at level 2. I made this print screen maybe is easyer to understand. [URL]
View 2 Replies View RelatedQuestion #1: To my Sections Sheet, I am adding a Key Plan of each floor to show where the sections are cut. I duplicated a plan of each floor and renamed it "Floor # - Key Plan", and added the view to the Sections Sheet at a small scale, and now I am using a 1" = 80'-" scale for these key plans. I am able to hide all the unwanted annotations elements, but I notice that some like the "UP" and "DN" of stairs, which are very large, do not go away without erasing the stairs also.
How can I leave the stairs at this small scale but without the associated annotation?
(I also notice that this happens with elements like Washer (W), the Water Heater (WH), etc).
Question # 2. Related question: Do Revit has a "Key Plan" creation fuction to automate this work?
I was following a tutorial when he created a structural plan where he'd place his footings. when i tried it on my Revit Architecture 2014, i found out that i didn't have that feature. is there any way i can turn it on?
i'm not sure if he's using revit architecture because he just refers to it as Revit 2014. i made a floor plan below the 0 mark but things will be tidier if i could make structural plan views.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have one of the floors in our building doing something wacky. The 5th floor reflected ceiling plan looks fine so I create detail plans for the suites at a different scale. this new suite blowup has what looks to be the same suite but everything is greyed out and when i switch from coarse detail to fine detail it doesn't do a thing.
The orignal full reflected ceiling plan looks fine. The line are black. The detail swithces back and forth... I can;t figure out what the problem could be. I used the same process on other floor and everyting is OK. The View Ranges are the same and everthing else in the properties seem the same too.
If i draw a beam in plan view en define the height, the beam disepare. Is there a posibility that the beam is in place and you can see a dash dot line and two dashed lines in plan view?

In Revit I duplicated my floor plan to create my electrical plan. I can add my recepticals and switchs but it won't let me add light fixture. Do I add the light fixture to ceiling plan then some how move them to my electrical plan?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just discovered the rafter framing extensions for revit. It is very handy but at places where there is a hip/valley the rafters are shown until the hip/valley. at all the other places (where there are ridges) they are cut at the place where the roof is cut.
I found another thread where they say to change the visibility settings of the rafter family what I already did before but it does not change anything in my floor plan.
I'm currently looking into switching from Vectorworks to Revit due to a job application I'm being offered. What I really want to know is if the following floor plan is possible to make in Revit. I just want floor plans to be with color to better show the different things on it and make them more clear.
I also want to know if it is possible to show symbols in a plan view other than just a rendered hidden line view of the 3D part of it, so I can have a simplified version for the plan view and a detailed object for the 3D. Like you have a 2D-plan component for the plan views and e 3D component for all other views.
My template don't have Floor Plan and Level.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSomehow today all the doors and cased openings dissapeared in my first floor plan.
They show up in the 3d views, sections, and second floor plan, but not in the first. I have checked the visibilty settings, and they are all checked and correct, and I have checked the height of my floor cut, which is adequately at 4 feet high. Additionally, if I make the detail level "fine" then the casings will show up around the wall but the wall will not show the door cut. The doors show up in a previous version of the model, so I'm not sure what has happened to cause the dissapearance.
I have fixtures on the reflected ceiling plan showing up in the foundation. How to stop this

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've created custom railing terminations and applied them to a handrail. They appear in every view extept plan. Railing extensions show fine. Railing Terminations don't. I am including screenshots & the families. Visibility is on for all views and all detail levels. Linetype is set to solid in Object Styles and VG. View Range is fine. Cut plane is way above the railing and bottom is unlimited.
The weird thing is that the extenstions appear in blue when the railing is selected. But they dissappear otherwise.
We are using structural steel framing familiies which are sloping in section. Where the view range cuts, the framing does not and the entire member is visible including above the cut plane.
The members are set to cut in plan in "Visiilbity Settings." The view is set to "Fine."
I need to create a wall the has a profile (in plan view).
