View 1 RepliesHow do you make a wall that's not rectanglar (in plan view)?
See attached image.
The brown color at the end of the wall indicates the polygonal shape which should be part of the wall.
How do I turn on/off wall elements in my plan view? I'd like just the core structure to show for dimensioning purposes and turn off the sheathing etc.

See attached image. I have read all about structural columns and did not find any solution.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAny way to get a wall sweep that's set up in the type/structure properties to follow a wall if that walls profile has changed. For example, in the image below, I've split the wall and adjusted it's profile to create some cheesy angled parapet. How do i get my wall cap to follow along? I thought splitting it and changing it's height would work, but no. And if I change the profile without splitting the wall the wall cap just runs right through the wall, as if the profiel was never even changed.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a question about wall profiles. I want to make a profile on a wall so I can make Zinc Panels on the wall that are 10" X 20". I've attached a picture of what I'm going for. I'd like it to have a 1/2" spacing between them and with a joint depth of 1" and I'd like to do this is the wall type so that I can use this wall in multiple places rather than having it model-in-place. Anyway I have made a profile that is 1" X 10" so that it can become my panel profile. But when I go to add it to the wall as a wall sweep as I have seen people do I get hung up on how to make it tile up the wall and also I don't understand how to make the profile so that it is 20" wide. I have a screen shot of where I'm editing this too. Below is the link of the site.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am working in a project where I need to represent the reflecting ceiling edges in the plan view. I put the first floor plan as underlay, and selected the RCP projection but I don't see the dropped ceiling lines to select them with the linework command. I have done every thing possible with the view range but I don't see the lines.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was given a horizontal centerline of a 5 mile bike path. We have to stake all the even stationing every 50 feet and all the VPC's and VPT's with vertical elevation. I have created the horizontal profile and also the vertical profile including all the vertical curve information. Is there an easy way to incorporate the elevation information back into the plan view so I can create points that carry x,y & z points that I can transfer out of autocad as a .txt file so we can upload it on our gps equipment?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a finished floor plan with 5.5" thick walls, but now i want to make all my walls thicker without changing the size of my rooms. What i can do to achieve this. I tried locking the wall dimensions before changing their thickness but it still shrunk my room sizes.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI placed walls at 12'0" elevation as they wereconflicting with walls below (overlap). I can't see them in plan view - In 3D iso view they are visible.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems seeing the walls I drew at the foundation level in this project. The walls should be shown but I can't get to see them except in a 3d view. Also, when i intended to draw them, I think I should have done it from the foundation level plan but I could not set the plan view to see the above objects in order to draw from them. I drew it from another level and then I modified their base and top constraints afterwards..
I tried to modify the view range of the foundation level without success.
We have our first project in Revit that we are having to split among multiple sheets because of the size of the building, so I have made 3 dependent views from the main overall view, named them, cropped them and placed each part (A,B, and C) on separate sheets. Now that I am trying to do enlarged toilet plan views, I want to tag the plans with the plan callouts on the 1/8” sheets that are the dependent views, but all the view tags are referencing dependent view A since it is the first dependent view in the list. If I change sheet A to be named Sheet X for instance, all the view tags now reference sheet B since that becomes the first dependent view alphabetically. I want them to reference the sheet they appear in, but I can’t seem to figure out how to do that, even though they are in different dependent views completely and within the crop region, they all default to the first dependent view in alphabetical order.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi have some simple profiles and just want to show the pvi's in plan view on the alignment.
i made a reference label and it works great. now i am trying to figure out if there is a quick way to locate the pvi station on plan view other than doing something like create a point using sta. and offset as parameters hand typing in the info.
I'm working with plan production sheets and having some trouble. My vertical exaggeration makes me want to split the profile, but when I do it, they get glued together. My left vertical grid numeration stays on the middle of the grid and I get a lot of information overlapped. What I need is to put some gap between these, or split'em. Other issue is that the axis offset of my Profile Style isn't being applied, as well as other configs.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to modify a vertical structural wall in elevation view - change from rectangular shape to trapezoidal (to allow a flat roof to drain to east). Did south wall in one elevation; I chose the wall, and it was outlined in red. I was then able to drag the east vertical edge down by a foot, creating desired slope. I now go to another elevation to modify north wall the same way, but when I choose the wall, it comes up with a blue ball in the center of each edge, with little hash marks on either side, and won't let me modify anything. Also, when I choose the wall outline (with the blue balls), I can't get to wall properties.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor a very long time I have missed to able to edit profile on a curved wall. It seems so basic and yet it has not been possible. So I was very pleased when it was pronounced that this basic option was finally possible in Revit 2012. Alas it is not. I am so very dissapointed because this is a basic feature wich should have been fixed years ago.
Any simple method to edit profile on a curved wall without having to attach wall top and buttom to invisible layers of floors and roofs ect.
i drew a curved wall. now when i select it revit doesn't give me the option of an edit profile button as it would with a rectangular/straight.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen creating plan and profile sheets with multiple alignments in the view, what is a common practice in civil 3d?
- Data shortcut all alignments that are in the view into the plan and profile model
- Create a dwg that has all the alignments data shortcutted and xref that into the plan and profile dwg
- Create a dwg for each alignment and xref into an overall alignment dwg via attach and then xref the overall into the pp sheets dwg model.

I'm, trying to update my wall profile so that all of my interior walls have baseboard/molding on them. I've been successful in creating a wall profile with molding, but only on one side. Looks like this in plan view. (Molding is highlighted and only on one side.)So, I first try to update my wall profile like this:
And I either duplicate, or add another sweep to the wall, and make that "Exterior" as to be on the "other" side of the wall. However, after pressing "OK" and "OK" at the wall profile editing box, I get the following error box:
When I click on "Show", I'm shown nothing. When I click on "Enjoin Elements", this same box comes up no matter how many times I click on the "Enjoin Elements" button.
Having problems adding molding to both sides of their interior walls? Am I going about this the right way? Tried to smallify the actual .rvt file, but I can't get it down to an acceptable size for posting here.
I was following a tutorial when he created a structural plan where he'd place his footings. when i tried it on my Revit Architecture 2014, i found out that i didn't have that feature. is there any way i can turn it on?
i'm not sure if he's using revit architecture because he just refers to it as Revit 2014. i made a floor plan below the 0 mark but things will be tidier if i could make structural plan views.
Is there anyway to create a gap in AEC extended wall in 3ds max. I know to create a gap while using doors and windows. But I wish to create a gap without any doors or windows. I do not want to use proboolean also, because I need the properties of Walls too.
Is there any modifier to create proboolean? Can we create a curved wall using AEC extended wall?
I just created a wall sweep on a wall , but I noticed the sweep doesn't adjust to the wall profile, please see the second floor wall in the attached image. Is there anyway to make the sweep adjust to the profile of the wall automatically?

I would prefer to avoid detail lines or Filled region to get the tiles shown as I need to schedule and quantify this element.

View 1 Replies View RelatedCurrently I have created Rooms and a Legend such that I have a coloured Plan View by Room department.
The colour boundaries extend to the centre line of the defining Walls. Is there a way to get the coloured zones to follow the Room boundaries?
I realise I can overwrite the Wall pattern and use a Solid pattern to hide the colour - but this is not what I want ...
I'm currently looking into switching from Vectorworks to Revit due to a job application I'm being offered. What I really want to know is if the following floor plan is possible to make in Revit. I just want floor plans to be with color to better show the different things on it and make them more clear.
I also want to know if it is possible to show symbols in a plan view other than just a rendered hidden line view of the 3D part of it, so I can have a simplified version for the plan view and a detailed object for the 3D. Like you have a 2D-plan component for the plan views and e 3D component for all other views.
