I'm trying to create a Tiled Skirt (150x150mm) profile or pattern to be used as Wall Sweep. Is there anyway to create this profile as the Family Template: metric profile (wall hosted) only allow me to create a 2D profile.
I would prefer to avoid detail lines or Filled region to get the tiles shown as I need to schedule and quantify this element.
Any way to get a wall sweep that's set up in the type/structure properties to follow a wall if that walls profile has changed. For example, in the image below, I've split the wall and adjusted it's profile to create some cheesy angled parapet. How do i get my wall cap to follow along? I thought splitting it and changing it's height would work, but no. And if I change the profile without splitting the wall the wall cap just runs right through the wall, as if the profiel was never even changed.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have tried 2 methods of generating a parapet cap:
1 - Creating a wall style with the sweep.
2 - Added a host sweep.
The problem is that using either method or a combination of both methods doesn't always work. I still end up with some caps that don't miter correctly even after editing. Sometimes, different intersections will miter and others won't.
I am attempting to creating a complex profile of a window frame using the Edit Profile command within Sweep. It tells me that lines cannot intersect. How can I draw more that just a simple rectangular profile?

I have a wall type that has an embeded sweep for the wall base. My project is set up in two phases, existing and new work. A door has been created in the existing phase, and demoed in the new phase. Where the door has been demolished an infill with the base appears, great! In the new phase I inserted a larger door that cuts the existing walland the entire infiil from the demolished door, but the base still remains. How do I get the new door to cut the base that was created as a result of the infill?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a question about wall profiles. I want to make a profile on a wall so I can make Zinc Panels on the wall that are 10" X 20". I've attached a picture of what I'm going for. I'd like it to have a 1/2" spacing between them and with a joint depth of 1" and I'd like to do this is the wall type so that I can use this wall in multiple places rather than having it model-in-place. Anyway I have made a profile that is 1" X 10" so that it can become my panel profile. But when I go to add it to the wall as a wall sweep as I have seen people do I get hung up on how to make it tile up the wall and also I don't understand how to make the profile so that it is 20" wide. It seems by default wide lines are being used. I don't see an option in the family editor to pick thin lines.
While working in the conceptual mass environment, I have inserted a closed profile (1 polyline) from a dwg file.
What I need is to either extrude or sweep this profile as a surface, but obviously Create Form only gives me the solid option.
How do I go about doing this?

How does one draw a complex curved line to act as the path for a sweep in REVIT 14?
I need to create an arch (shown in elevation), that follows a curved path (shown in plan).
Ribbon has been acting strange. One example is when creating a sweep the ribbon will not show the mode options to accept or discard changes while creating the sweep path. I have to cycle the ribbon display options to show the X and check options to complete the sweep path. This is only one example of many different odd things happening.
Sometimes when I am simply drawing model lines the selection options for rectangle, circle etc do not appear until I cycle the ribbon display options. This only started in the last week or two.

I am trying to modify a vertical structural wall in elevation view - change from rectangular shape to trapezoidal (to allow a flat roof to drain to east). Did south wall in one elevation; I chose the wall, and it was outlined in red. I was then able to drag the east vertical edge down by a foot, creating desired slope. I now go to another elevation to modify north wall the same way, but when I choose the wall, it comes up with a blue ball in the center of each edge, with little hash marks on either side, and won't let me modify anything. Also, when I choose the wall outline (with the blue balls), I can't get to wall properties.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor a very long time I have missed to able to edit profile on a curved wall. It seems so basic and yet it has not been possible. So I was very pleased when it was pronounced that this basic option was finally possible in Revit 2012. Alas it is not. I am so very dissapointed because this is a basic feature wich should have been fixed years ago.
Any simple method to edit profile on a curved wall without having to attach wall top and buttom to invisible layers of floors and roofs ect.
i drew a curved wall. now when i select it revit doesn't give me the option of an edit profile button as it would with a rectangular/straight.

I've been successful in creating a wall profile with molding, but only on one side. Looks like this in plan view. (Molding is highlighted and only on one side.)So, I first try to update my wall profile like this:

How do I create simple wall types? I would like to create 2x6 and 2x4 walls with 7/16" OSB on them. I would like to see each stud when I going into 3D and I would like the dimensions to be from face of framing; not the OSB or centerline.

Then I offset this line in the vertical plane. My next step is to offset this second line so that it is not directly above the original line, but offset in the horizontal plane. Most of the interior walls in the house are the same materials and finishes - finishes of veneer plaster painted, but rooms are to be differnent colors. I can make a wall the color that I want, but ALL that type walls become that color. Is there any way to make several different colors of rooms witihout creating literally dozens of different wall types?

I have used this parameter before but am having trouble getting it to work within my family. The only difference is that I created one frame/jamb instead of 4 seperate profiles. The question is, why can't i get the jamb to move within the wall using the exterior wall offset parameter? It seems to move the sash/panels just fine but the jamb is constrainted somehow.
