We are about to issue the drawings, but we do want to put a transparent text(confidential and provilaged) on top of our drawing. We do want this text to be transparent.
Is there any way to put a transparent text in Revit other than adobe?
Currrently, we print floor plans to pdf's, open them in Photoshop and make them part transparent and part semi-transparent so that we can overlay them in various visual tools. Is there a way to create pdf's or images where the background is completely transparent and and solid patterns within the floor plan that are semi-transparent?

We are trying to put a gray tone over the existing area of the plan. what is weird is that I did the exact same thing to another view & it works perfectly with the region in the background & all the wals & doors showing up correctly. I can't figure out what is different between one view & another.
I've tried changing the filled region to be "moved to back" but nothing changes. if I override the graphics of the element & change it to be transparent the it goes away all together.
I'm wanting to create transparent text over a picture with only the outline of the text showing. So basically, I need to only see the stroke of the text and have be picture show thru from behind.

Walls: Only the window glass shows through.Concrete Roof: Everything shows through as if transparency is set at 50%.
I have a demolition plan where everything is showing up transparent and the floor pattern can be seen through casework, walls, etc. I have checked all the visibility/graphics for the view, the phasing, the object styles, and I can't find anything that indicates why everything would be transparent. I have another project where all of the settings appear to be the same that shows up correctly.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Floor Plan View and it was modeled up everything good displays and prints correctly (drawing 2 on the attached pdf) . I have another Floor Plan View which was create via duplicating the first one - therefore the majority of the drawing is the same. However, the filled region through the center of the duplicated view is obscuring the other modeled objects when it is printed.
The region is set to transparent (as can be seen when it is viewed on screen) the filled region has been sent to back, and the other objects are all on exactly the same layers in both documents (as they are identical apart from other noting which has nothing to do with the actual filled region).
why the filled region would be obscuring the objects in one drawing and not the other? The only way I can find to get the objects to print which are "covered" by the filled region is to turn the region off, which defeats the purpose as it is there for a reason? This happens with hard copy printing and also to pdf. Printer is set to raster printing .
We have a structure model linked into our architectural model, where some structure will be located within the wall. The cut pattern of structure is not always showing on top of (opaque) the wall cut pattern. Sometimes the cut pattern appears transparent with the wall cut pattern running through the structural member.
I tried playing with this in a fresh project with just a C channel in a wall. Sometimes it shows opaque and sometimes transparent depending on the position of the channel in the wall. I would try making the member flat at different elevations and sloped at different elevations and they all had different graphic display behavior. Then I tried duplicating the wall and channel to have two sets to play with simultaneously. Modifying the elevation or slope in one would actually change the graphics of the other, when the other didn't move.
I've tried checking/unchecking the following parameters within the project and family without any effect: structural material, structural, show pre-cut in plan, and always vertical. Not only am I assuming that the structural cut pattern should be opaque over the wall's cut pattern, but I can't even identify what is causing it to change with different elevation/slope settings.
I will attach 2 screenshots. The one titled opaque is the desired effect.
In Revit 2013 - Some elements are displaying as transparent in the 3D Shaded view. All the glass elements are showing through solid parts of the model in 3D shaded view. See the attached image.

So what I thought I'd do was create a separate layer, write out "Samantha", and then somehow make the text transparent and then show both layers. However, I can't do it! If I select the text with the magic wand and delete it, that works, except that there are holes in my name (the 3 as!). So, 3 of my letters aren't properly formed that way. I tried to copy the middle of the as to another layer, to change them to white, but I can't do this until I rasterize the text. After doing that, I can't magic wand select it.

The idea is that I can change the background image or color to give the site a fresh look without recreating each of the buttons. I would like to make them TRULY transparent but the text always comes out badly pixelated. Is there a way to stop this without using a matte color around the text? I need to figure out some way (using masking?) to have the text be on the opaque layer and then knock it out like a die-cut so that it creates a hole in the opaque layer (where the text was) and ends up revealing the background layer beneath.
I need to be able to create text so that the text is transparent and it reveals a collage of photos underneath. The box AROUND the text needs to remain white....so that ONLY the text is transparent. The effect would be that the text would appear to be cut out of the photos behind it.
So in other words, I need to end up with a big white box that has text on top of it. Then the text in that box is transparent and shows photos underneath both layers (including the white)
