I have a problem with the PSD file, size 228 MB. When electricity turned off, my computer shut down then I turned on it and opened the PSD again but there was only one locked layer filled in black and no other layers. I can not see other layers that was saved before. and here is red line on the top. How can I return my works back?

View 2 Replies View RelatedYesterday while I was editing a project in After Effects I used the command-E within AE to open the selected filein my AE project in Illustrator. Everything was fine, I was able to move things across all exisint layers without changing the file layer organization structure. When I went to save the file, everything seemed to go fine and the asterisk went away indicating it saved the file. When I went back into After Effects, AE told instantly gave me an error: "After Effects error: File exists but couldn't be open for reading: "/Volumes/media/CRISP/Motion/_AIs/dining room.ai"/ (3 :: 0)". But when I go into that exact volume destination, the file is missing and I can't find it anywhere. The volume is a server on the network I use here at my job. The server has never had issues with deleted files or not being able to save files onto it. It is always on and connected.

Despite AE telling me it exists still but it can't open it, I can't find the illustrator file anywhere on my Mac or media server. I've done advanced searches with hidden files being visible and I've even looked in a couple hidden folders ".ExampleHiddenFolder" and I still can't find the file with a matching name or extension. I've even tried use the command-option-shift-open within Illustrator to see if I could open any visible file. I just can't find it anywhere and I don't know why Illustrator would just go and delete my file. Yesterday the Recent Files within Illustror would indicate that I had recently opened a dining room.ai file but when I would click on it to open it to try and recover it, AI said it couldn't locate the file. Now today the file history doesn't even show up in my recent files anymore (it is still the last file I opened in AI).
I was trying to save a large file as a Photoshop PDF and my program crashed. I was lucky enough to have saved this file in both a JPEG and PNG format onto my desktop but now once I move the files back into Elements, I have no history and no layers?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just finished working on a file for a client and saved it to the compressed zip folder that it was sent to me without decompressing.
Photoshop seemed to save to the folder without problems but when I went to go to open it again, my work was gone and all that was there was the original file. Did PS save my work someplace else and not tell me, or was it not saving at all despite not giving me any permissions errors?
I was working in Photoshop CS5.1 (OS X 10.7.5) and the original image I started with was saved in TemporaryItems, long story short I spent 4 hours working on an illustration and saving the .psd files versions in the same TemporaryItems folder, planning to move all the files tonight. Just came back to it and the files are gone! I may cry pixel tears, desperately running out of swear words.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have cdx5 (fully patched) running on a windows 7 pro x64 machine (c++, directx, updates all current) that has an issue when saving a file to a mapped network drive. The file will save error free but when you try to open the file again at a later date it gives a c++ runtime error (this application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unexpected way).
If i save the file locally then move it to the network share it seems fine. It can be opened and edited with out issue.
CDx5 needs to save to the mapped drive as the server runs onsite and offsite backups. There is a large volume of files that are changed/created daily. Saving locally and then copied to the server manually is also not an option as the user cannot be relied upon to ensure the files are copied to the server.
I have a capstone lab project due tomorrow for my graphic arts class and I made a HUGE mistake!!! I created an image using 20 something layers and did SAVE AS as a .xcf image (with all layers open). Part of the project was to save in different formats: .xcf (with open layers), a .png, and a .jpeg (optimized). So, I did the first save and then flattened the image to SAVE AS a .png with a different file name.
Long story short, I was tired and had way too many images open at once. When I was closing all of the images I accidentally saved the changes (flatten image) to my original .xcf (with open layers)!!!! Now, my .xcf that is supposed to have open layers only has one layer...the finished project!! I tried going to the file properties to restore a previous version, but it says that no previous versions were found! I also downloaded a norton "unerase" utility, but maybe I am not scanning properly to locate the file!?!
when I am trying to synchronizing to central I get a message twice saying "inches to the fourth power." then another message saying "file not saved."so then I find myself having to exit revit and start over with a new local file.
I did notice that when one person had a view or sheet open that I needed to work on that is when the error came up the most. so when the three of us would complete a task we would have to synchronize right after that task e.g. if I had several lights to place on the RCP I would place one light and synchronize and then place another light and synchronize. If I tried to do too much or waited too long to synchronize the error would come up.

Kept getting a nag screen that updates were available for Autodesk 360.
I logged in and updated it. The update required a restart of LT. When it restarted my saved workspace was gone, replaced by the AutoCAD LT Classic.
When I click the down arrows beside the Workspace Control box my saved one isn't listed.
Where did the saved one go? What's going on here? Why are updates messing stuff up?
When a raw file badge shows that the file has been changed, I use Metadata Save to File & for the large majority of my images, the badge goes away and Metadata Status Changed does not show the file. For some of my files, however, the Save to File command doesn't work properly. If I am only displaying files with changes, the file briefly disappears, then returns. Even if I go to Windows Explorer and delete the xmp file, then again Save metadata to file, it pops up again with the badge saying it needs to be saved. I'm using Lightroom 4.3 64 bit on Windows 7.

I finished, saved my front and back as a .pdf everything is good. When I save the document as .psd again and close the file, the next time I reopen, it has 0 layers, everything is flattened. I've never had this happen before and am scared to close down the file I am working on for fear that it might not return.

I had this happen once already earlier today on a seperate business card. I knew I saved my final copy as a .psd and when I opened that .psd up again to find that there were no layers, but one flattened image. Is my PS corrupted? Or did I miss a simple check box somewhere?

This is the original document I'm working on. I saved 2 .pdf files from this .psd...For Good measure I save the .psd above as a "test" and then open it up in another window. Notice how the thumbnail has a curved triangle shape. Also the file size is only like 9 mb...very small for my normal size
Ok, so I open it up, and this is what I see. One flattened picture. No layer masks, layers...anything.
I downloaded CS6 for the MAC and have been using it fine, come to use Photoshop 6 on my PC upstairs and a PDF which has been saved now opens on the PC but as one layer not the 20 layers that it is built up from.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI frequently save layouts I do in Photoshop as PDF's. Lately I very often will discover the text does not display correctly in the PDF. One or two lines of text will display as white with a thin black outline, rather than as the basic solid black I'd specified.

I work on a Windows 7 machine with the current version of PS. The text is on layers when I save the file to PDF (from PS), but I do not include the layers in the PDF, so they should be flattening down.

I noticed a few weeks ago when it was also doing this that I updated the program a day later and the PDF's were not exhibiting this issue. But, now it's starting again.
I have a single file with couple objects on different layers. When I copy/paste into other files, the objects seem to be grouped and layer information disappeared. Can I move around objects with layer setting as well?

I have a client who insists on receiving final files as PDFs saved as Illustrator Default with Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities ticked. This wasn't an issue until I upgraded to cs6. In cs6 I'm saving the native file as cs5, and then saving as PDF with the following options:

The client is able to open the PDF in cs5 but the layers are all flattened into a single layer. Is there way to Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities for any version other than cs6?

Is there any way I can open it again in CS5? Is there a file converter I could use. I just need to basically open the file agian in CS5 so I can continue to edit the certificate. I have tried opening the file with CS5 and CS6 and I get this message:

When I send a file to Ps from Lr, edit that file then save it, Lr puts that file at the end of the line instead of next to the file I was working on. When you have 600 photos in a down loud, it is a pain to scroll through the photo's to find your place again.Â
Is there a setting to force the saved file back in line next to the file that was edited in Ps?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm running Windows Vista 64. I create a project in Photoshop CS. I save it. The file is stored in this path: C/Program Files x86/Adobe/Photoshop CS. If Photoshop is running and I click on Open, then navigate to this location the file appears and will open. However, if I try to navigate to the file by starting with My Computer and going to the exact same location as specified above the file does not appear. I've tried searching for it via Search, going through my entire computer and got nothing. And worse, sometimes I will Save a file in Photoshop and then go back to it a few days later and it is not there. I think the problem is where Photoshop actually saves the file. My 1st scratch disk is set to Startup. What does this mean? Is this dictating where Photoshop is saving the actual file?

"The drawing has not been saved yet, please save the drawing before creating data shortcuts" Only I have saved, this still occurs after either a full or quick save.
Shutdown Civil and reopen still gives the same message..The problem seems to be when you are saving to any other version of Autocad than R2010. Save as R2010 and it works.Mike Evans

I believe that I understood that metadata for .png format isn't supported, but I thought that .gif was. (Test case is easy: open .gif file, add a Title and Description, save, and re-open - information is gone).
