I just bought elements11, installed it and imported photos from folders, when i wanted to check/change preferences the program hung up 'loading' . my computer meets system requirments according to the box.
View 6 RepliesI have Elements 9, running on a Windows 7 64 bit PC.
In organiser if I select Preferences from the Edit menu or by pressing Ctrl-K a small window comes up saying loading, but the preferences window never shows. Windows Task Manager shows that Elements is still running and the processor load is about 15-25% and so it would seem it is trying to do something. So far I've left the machine for over an hour and the loading window never goes. The only way to close Elements is to use End Task in Windows Task Manager.
I've tried deleting the preferences file in /Users/User name/roaming/Adobe/Elements Organiser/9.0/Organiser/. I've also tried uninstalling, deleting all of the Adobe Elements files within the roaming profile and reinstalling. Neither of which has worked. Apart from this Elements works OK and I can access the Preferences in the Elements Edit programme.
I have just installed the latest update and this made no difference.
I could definitely access the preferences window when the software was first installed. The only thing I can think of that has changed (apart from the usual Windows updates) was the installation of a trial copy of Lightroom 3, which I've now uninstalled.
When I click on the organizer to view pics the program just keeps running and I am unable to do anything. What can I do to fix the program?

But, upon trying to open Photoshop this morning, I get these two messages:
Could not load actions because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered.Could not initialize Photoshop because the Preferences file was invalid (it has been deleted). - although the file was still in the AppData...Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings.
Tried to 'restore' Preferences:
Keyboard - CTRL ALT SHFT upon clicking PSD iconSaid 'Yes' to allow changes to systemStill received same two messagesRemoved the Adobe Photoshop CS6 Prefs.psp Restarted Photoshop, still received same two messages. Tried resetting, CTL ALT SHFT, again still same two messages.
Read Adobe thread to 'rename' the Actions Palette.psp, but keep it in the folder:

Have installed new Elements 9 and Premiere 9. All works well, except can't get into organizer without hanging up on this message, 'Restoring People Recognition Data'. It shows 2% progress and just hangs there.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI created a short project of two clips of 640 x 480 avi clips with no transitions in VideoStudio Pro X4. I created a media file output and chose the option "same as the first clip." The file created was about 39 MB. Everything was good.
Then I created a media file using the option "Project Properties" and the file size ballooned to about 354 MB, even though I set the Project Properties to the same values as the original clip!!
I need to use Project Properties. Otherwise, when I add transitions, during the transitions the video size changes to widescreen for some reason and the picture looks stretched out from left to right, until after the transition, when the video goes back to 640 x 480.
How can I use the Project Properties option when creating the final media file and not get huge files, or how can I use the "same as the first clip" option and keep the transitions the same size as the first clip (640 x 480) instead of switching to a wide screen mode?
I don't seem to be able to run a set of my custom programsn that I have been runnning since R2009.
I get the untrusted location dialogue box, the commands have demand loaded into the registry but when I run I get unknown command or nothing happens and no text on the command line.I have tried Rebuilding the code to target R2014 and also turning off the trusted switch all to no avail.
"xref object blow up max on loading scene" thats all I can add only into the scene I have a CAT rig, some cylinders with skin,cloth,ffd modyficators. After importing and xref object i close max. Then, when I am trying to open max with xrefobject i get an error. I unchecked the "automatic update" option, with to effect- still max cant open the scene and gimme an error.

The computer is a new HP desktop with Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 operating system. My Elements 8 does everything I need except for the photo sharing so I don't really want to purchase a new version.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using Photoshop CS6 for awhile now on a very stable iMac i5 with 16GB RAM on Snow Leopard but recently its behaving very badly. I am having problems with very minor tasks like transform, open, save, move, etc. Photoshop gets hung up and the wheel starts spinning. Typically this is a font related problem but I've done every maintenance task known to man and still having issues. I've deleted prefs, cleared out brushes, action, tools, repaired permissions, my fonts are all clean, has nothing to do with time machine or background tasks (that i know of) yet it still runs slow. This is definitely not a slow video card problem, I have an ATI Radeon HD 5750 1024 with 16GB of ram and plenty of hard drive space. I've ticked off the "Use Graphics Processor" restarted and the problem persists....
SO, i thought maybe i need to update my OS and get up to speed with the new cat, Mountain Lion. Maybe its just not cooperating with Snowy cats anymore. I completed the upgrade last night and I'm still seeing beachball working on 72 dpi PSD files. I've worked on 3GB layered files in the past with no problems.
I am trying to install Photoshop but it get stuck and the system is hung near at 80%, I waited for more than an hour, tried many times but the same result. My system is a P4. 3Ghz 2GB DDR2 RAM.

All I can find is 'Preferences - allows you to change the Camera Raw preferences'. There must be a reason for having a preferences dialogue icon/window in Camera Raw, the button is right up there next to the rotate buttons.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to save my work in PSE 9 it crashes every time. I've removed preferences by pressing shift, control, option after launching the program. The window came up if I wanted to remove preference I clicked yes. Restarted my computer and relaunched PSE9 still crashes.
I've also removed the twain plug in this way: Program FilesAdobePhotoshop Elements 9Locales<locale>Plug-InsImport-Exportand you will find twain plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere else.
I dragged it twice to my desktop but the file still seemed to remain in place (even though I had 2 new copies on my desk top), so the third time I did it, I clicked it and moved it to trash. Again, I restarted my computer and relaunched PSE9 and it still crashes when trying to save.
When I run PSE 11 Organizer and try and edit the Prefences a DOS screen flashes and the program crashes.

I'm trying to create my own set of Patterns in a .pat file.It doesn't work as the instructions say.But with an immense amount of effort, going about it in a roundabout way to get past security nonsense and locked files that weren't locked, I managed to create a .pat file with my Patterns in the proper folder. I couldn't do this directly. Instead I added my Patterns to an existing .pat file with the idea of later deleting those that aren't mine and restoring the original .pat file to its original state.However, I can't load my .pat file or any other .pat file. That is, the Load function doesn't work, so I can't have my own Patterns in a .pat file that I can access.I've tried to load the ,.pat file using the Preset Manager, using Layer > New Fill Layer > Pattern, and using the Paint Bucket tool, but the selected .pat file doesn't get added to the list of .pat files that can be used. What is the Magic Word to get a .pat file to Load?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am having PSE 11 "stop working " when launched. Seems to be related to corrupt catalogs. If I delete the catalog, then I am able to open up the Organizer. However, when I build a new catalog, it oftens crashes. I have disabled all the analyzer functions but keeps recurring. I have been successful in building a small catalog consisting of approximately 400 JPGs. However, larger catalogs aren't successful.

New to Revit. Using 2012. I'm trying to add a double hung window to a wall and get the following error message:

I just bought a new laptop in July. Got Elements soon after. I have been taking digital photos since 2006. I have over 7,500 photos. I have used all of my online storage.
1. How do I get Photoshop to look at my hard drive for photos?
a. How do I use the online storage as a backup of, say, photo albums?
2. How do I get Elements to stop loading ALL 7500 photos every time I open it?
I'm using DSL, so you can imagine how incredibly SLOW EVERYTHING is in Elements.
I'm still trying to figure out how to organize everything. I stopped using it for a few months becuase I got so frustrated. But now I've scanned in more photos (75) and I have to finish my mom's scrapbook. I've read parts of Elements for Dummies, but I still don't get it.
Any solution to the endless pinwheel in 11 Editor (updates installed)? I load a previously created PSD file, move a few layers around and the endless pinwheel appears. Have to Force Quit.
