I don't seem to be able to run a set of my custom programsn that I have been runnning since R2009.
I get the untrusted location dialogue box, the commands have demand loaded into the registry but when I run I get unknown command or nothing happens and no text on the command line.I have tried Rebuilding the code to target R2014 and also turning off the trusted switch all to no avail.
I've made some custom tool palettes that are on the network. I just have them pathed in the options, and set up as a group for users to access. Civil 3D is real sluggish when it comes to using these, and switching between the tabs, and trying to load them up. But Vanilla AutoCAD loads them and switches between tabs no problem. Is there a variable specific to C3D that needs to change to make it work more like it does in Vanilla AutoCAD?

R2013 is stating on start up that the Geotechnics module has been loaded and displays the Tab for it.But I haven't installed the Geotechnics module for 2013 yet and it doen't work.
I am trying to load hatch files from StoneCAD. In the past I have been able to take hatch patterns from various sources and locate them in a file within AutoCAD LT, then use them without issue.
I have never touched a .pat file or written anything in notepad or word, just simply copied the .dxf files to a file on my computer and was able to use them through AutoCAD LT 2009. Recently I had to reload the software and I can't figure out where I would go to put these hatch files.

One of our Autocad Map 3D 2011 users is having the problem that custom fonts aren't automatically loading anymore, and when they use a command that draws a line with a custom linetype it is always drawn as continuous. This is a recent problem and the fonts used to load automatically as well as the linetypes drawn correctly. It isn't a problem with the linetypes not being loaded in the drawing because after using the custom command they are able to go to the layer and change the linetype to the correct one fixing the problem.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have added a few custom autocad commands that are specific to my scenario. I created Ribbon (and Menu for classic mode) for these commands and they are working fine. The only issue is that these Buttons (Ribbon and Menu for classic mode) are not loading the images(icons). All I get is a cloud image for both commands.
I have used 16X16 for small image and 32X32 for large image. Both are bmp files. These are attached to the custom Autocad command that I am using. The commands themselves are working fine, except for the image which is not displayed. In short, what can be the possible reason for images not showing up?
"xref object blow up max on loading scene" thats all I can add only into the scene I have a CAT rig, some cylinders with skin,cloth,ffd modyficators. After importing and xref object i close max. Then, when I am trying to open max with xrefobject i get an error. I unchecked the "automatic update" option, with to effect- still max cant open the scene and gimme an error.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWe have been using Custom profiles for many years. We have always had issues that just after we install, we have to reload the custom profile to get it in place. When I say reload, I mean we launch the program the first time with a /p <profile name>. (The path to our custom profile is in the string launch string.) Seems to default to a random profile, or something we don't recognize. The process here is we are pushing out installs to 200 users and don't want each user to set one of the defaults current, delete our custom one, reload our custom one and set it current.
Once the profile is loaded the next times opening all is well. Because, of course, it was last used.
What am I missing or misunderstanding? We see the profile exists in the registry before we reload. The custom profile we use is an export.
Under Lens Corrections in ACR I get the following error message : "Unable to locate a matching lens profile automatically." How do I install the known profiles as I believe the lenses I use are well known and are in the adobe list of common profiles?

The problem is that my Palette title is now "gtPalette" which I do not want. However if I change
PaletteSet("gtPalette", MYGuid)
to
PaletteSet("GunTech Cogo", MYGuid)
Then what occurs is that when Acad (actually I'm using Civil 3D 2012) start it trys to execute a command called 'GunTech' and then one called "cogo'. Cogo being a valid Civil 3d Command brings up the Cogo dialog. If I then type the command gtPalette it appears in the correct location.
Currently on my development PC the first code works perfect and brings up a palette that even has the correct title of "GunTech Cogo". this info has presumable been saved with the GUID in my previous attempts to get the code to work.

After installing SP1 2014 Autocad started to crash by loading DLL that contains Civil 3D libraries. In the same time Civil3D works perfectly. Is there a way to load some DLLs when starts Civill3d but not Autocad?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having a issue when I open a drawing with a profile or a surface xreferenced into it, the profile drawing or the surface drawing needs to be reloaded every time in order for it to appear. This becomes very cumbersome when we try to publish a set and have numerous plan and profile sheets and then the profile doesn’t appear. We have six identical machines in our office with Civil 3D 2013 on them and out of the six two of them have this happen on a regular basis. If I were to go over to the other four machines, there are no issues when we open the drawing or publishing. Is there a setting in AutoCAD that we are overlooking?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've previously posted about poor performance across our WAN, and working with Toolspace open. I have suspected that maybe the drawing wasn't loading completely, so whenever I did certain operations, C3D needed to go back across the WAN to the server for more of the drawing, or maybe just to read some portion of the drawing file, where the request was getting delayed by latency in the server.
Anyway, today, I copied a drawing file to my harddrive and opened it. As expected, the drawing loaded fairly quickly, except for having to go out to the server to syc the references and xref'd drawings. But once loaded, everything worked the way it is supposed to. I can turn on the contours, and it just happens. I can open the drawing settings, and then close them, and I instantly have control back, all with Toolspace open.
Now, C3D may still be needing to go back to the drawing for whatever it is that it needs, but being on my harddrive, it can get what it needs very quickly.
My question is: Why doesn't C3D completely load a drawing into memory? We now have 64 bit systems with access to gobs of memory.
Can load or install a *.dat file into civil 3d 2012. i have a file form the army corp of engineers that will draw a structural shape in autocad but i can't seem to load the file in autocad or civil 3d.

In 2013, I had created screen menu layout for Lite Users, where I placed the old Standard and Express Tools Menus along the top of the CAD window, just below the Ribbon. To do this I would Rt. Click in the Grey area (just below the Ribbon and above the CAD window), and then be able to choose menus from the AutoCAD, CIVIL, or EXPRESS menu groups.
In 2014, when I Rt.Clk. in the same area, I'm not given a way to select menus to add - as in 2013.
Is there another way to manually load the Standard AutoCAD and Express menus to the screen, in addition to the Ribbon, etc?

I am creating the stations and elevations in LISP and want to send them to the "Profile" program. I have seen in a C# program the use of an Array to send the data. I would like to do the same. eg.
LISP - (profile_sample sta1 elev1 sta2 elev2 sta3 elev3 ...etc)
VB - What is the code to pass this data to the Profile Sample program?
I am VERY new to VB programming. I have trouble giving up LISP.
We just discovered data at our office, and I am pretty stoked about them 90% of the time. We do have one problem with them though. We are doing a small road, with 10 or so alignments and a few pipe networks of 40 pipes and structures. 1 surface, and that is about it. I made a cross sections sheet with our design file xrefed and data references to everything in it. Now it won't open. I can copy it to my local hard drive, run a recover, and then open it, save it back, add in all the data references and redo labels, but I can't open it from there.
Is there some way to have it open without syncing?
my animation takes around two seconds to load within my browser. Is there a way to display a loading symbol such as spinning circle, that will show the animation is loading, then disappear once it is ready to display?

what other programme you can open survey databases in? Up until about Civil3D 2011 you could open them up in MS Access, but the type of database has been changed and I can't do that anymore.
The reason I want to do this is that opening the database in Civil3D does not expose all of the contents of the database eg. prism constants. I would like to see the entire contents of the database.

I'm currently working on a site which is almost 95% complete. The loading time for the site is approx 7-10 seconds which seems to be slow. I have placed a preloader but that doesn't seem to be coming up while the site is loading.
Is there anyway to speed up the loading time. Like some code that will tell it load specific number of frames first and then load the rest in the background?
I have compressed the images that are being used but cannot compress further as they may lose the quality.I've got the preloader working and now it seems to be showing up while the site is loading. Is there any way to speed up the loading time.
