I'm in Autocad if I use the "open" command and go to a file directory there are several subfolders that we have to save drawings in before we make changes to them. If I copy and paste from one folder to the next while in the open dialog box it copy the file fine but the next time I try to open any drawing file the program goes unresponsive and crashes.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAll other controls work fine until i use the grey scale tool. All other options/controls become inactive including close and minimize. I have to use ctrl+alt+delete to exit.
The main reason I use grey scale is to be able to use the arbitrary rotation tool. Is there away to use arbitrary without using grey scale?
When deleting RGB photos from my laptop, this function locks the program, but this does not happen on my desktop cs6.

I am using autodesk autocad civil 3D (Metric). When I am importing point from text file it comes with different scale which is not to 1:1.Actual scale is 1: 3.280 which is exactly equal to 1m :1 ft ratio.
So, my guess is, X,Y,Z coordinates are importing to autocad civil 3D is in feets and measured distance points in meters.
I am having trouble importing a field book file.......I click the option to import survey data, verify the survey database then select the field book option but at that point Civil 3D does not alow me to browse to select a field book file.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble processing point code to correctly string the survey points. I have tried three methods of coding and each method has a draw back which isn't really acceptable to me, as it either means more work in the field or more work in the office.
Method 1: I code my points TOP 1 B, or TOE 2 or NS.
When doing this method the survey points don't string correctly. Because of the space delimitation inbetween TOP & 1 Civil3d only recognises the code TOB and doesn't pay attention to the string number. So all the points with the same code get stringed regardless of the string number. Please see file "TOP_1_B_CODE_STYLE.png" and you will see that TOP 1 E strings to point TOP 2 B.This will create a lot of work in the office breaking all the survey figures so they appear correct.
Method 2:I code my points TOP1 B, or TOE2 or NS. When doing this the points don't get coded correctly. Because the code is TOB when I import a point with the code TOB1 it doesn't recognise the code, and puts the point on the default layer 0. Please see file "TOP1_B_STYLE.png" and you will see all of the TOP1 and TOE1 are white and one layer 0. This will make a lot of office work changing points to the correct layers.
Method 3: I code my points without a string number, and only pickup one line at a time. So I would start picking up a toe of bank by TOE B then finish it on TOE E. See file "TOP_B_TOP_E.png" to see the result.
This does get the result I want but it really makes field work procedures slow. It would be very frustrating doing a detail survey of a road and having to walk each individual breakline.
I want to be able to use Method 1 but to have all points get stringed correctly. I have read a pretty good post about this here where the outcome is that all points should be put on layer 0 by default (I can't find it again though!). For me though that isn't a very good option as I often have both design and asbuilt in the same drawing, and need to be able to turn off groups and not have the associated points left on my screen.
I have a Civil3D file with Drawing Settings = WGS84 UTM-Zone44 North Map3D coordinate system = WGS84 UTM-Zone44 North a USGS DEM from HYDROsheds data set (tile = N40E80) also note this DEM is a folder of multiple ADF files when using FDO provider the DEM comes in just fine but it lands in the wrong location thousands of kilometers away.
When I load the same shape files into ArcMAP10 with spatial reference as WGS84 UTM-Zone44 North everything lines up perfectly.
The header prj.adf file is this:
PROJECTION GEOGRAPHIC
UNITS DD
DATUM WGS84
PARAMETERS
so how do I make it come into Map3D correctly?
I am trying yo model river corridor with 4 locks on it. On every locks different between levels is about 2-3m. I it is possible to create profile perependicular to bottom of river. How to create it?
Another question how to later connect surface. I mean Existing ground and corridor intersect. Ho to prepare later for render Existing ground with cutted corridor river? where I am below EG.
I am tryiny to import coordinate file like I have so many times and the Select File box keeps telling me "No point file format match found". I click the proper file format and it shows in the Preview box but the OK box will not go dark so I can clcik on it. The file is a CSv and tried making it a txt with no luck. Using 2012.

I am battling is bringing in LiDAR files from ArcGIS. I have tried TXT and ASC, and they both seem to only maintain the elevation to the nearest foot, as you can see in the attached image.
What is strange, is that when the file is brought back into GIS, this issue is a problem. Is there a setting for reducing the amount of units when importing data? The text file as I shared has data to the thousandth.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I received a DVD with an eps file on it from a graphics company. I was informed that I could open it in Illustrator and start editing the individual graphics within the file. But when I open it, it is just one image and won't let me edit it.
There are no locks on the image layers.
The graphics company told me that it was originally created in Indesign and then saved as an eps, so I don't really know what to do now.
It won't open and let me edit in any of the Adobe programs. I need these graphics to edit!
Recently purchased a new plotter thats 32 bit. Problem is, my Win 7 is 64 bit, holy smokes! so the two wont work together.I cannot even download the plotters installation process. Was told that Corel Draw can bridge the two correctly so I am leaving Letter Art and joining the Corel Draw family. I have a few questions concerning this matter. First, can Corel actually bridge these two? Second, Letter Art saves their files as gnt, showing up in My Documents as sym (go figure) so knowing that Corel can import all types of files, can they import pcx, sym and/ or gnt as well?

I am unable to use the file command open, new etc. I click on open and nothing happens no file box opens. As soon as you do anything else the program says not responding and you have to close it down. View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a document with the necessary combination of bitmap and vector. After importing textures 300dpi (A4/24bit/jpg) the reaction slows down the program significantly, to the inability to continue working in it. Texture takes 40mega while in memory, but in my opinion it is not quite so much, it should not materially affect the normal operation. I am using CDrawX3, I tried to open it in a version 9 or 10. The fastest I came subjectively is CDraw Designer v10. But he still falls.I tried adjusting the amount of RAM for Corel or lower resolution bitmap import at 150 dpi. It's practically the same. It does not even mention the interactive transparency, or weld/trim operation, etc. I think, that the X4 or X5 are the same. Every year new version seems the same old software with the polished exterior. I'm used to work in Corel for technical drawings with lot of combination of bitmaps and vectors but unfortunately it will want to look for something else?
View 13 Replies View RelatedOpened AutoCAD LT 2012 on a home laptop which I have used multiple times. The mouse is unresponsive in the drawing space, regardless of paper or model space. I am missing my crosshairs and can't pan or zoom. I can click on menu's, ribbon, command prompt or otherwise as long as it is outside the normal workings space. I can not close a drawing unless I close the entire program. Finally, I have to click in the command prompt space in order to type a command. I tried rebooting and it appears my last resort may to repair or reinstall the software.

I want to use the "Profile Sample" program supplied with C3D to create an alignment and profile. I am creating the stations and elevations in LISP and want to send them to the "Profile" program. I have seen in a C# program the use of an Array to send the data. I would like to do the same. eg.
LISP - (profile_sample sta1 elev1 sta2 elev2 sta3 elev3 ...etc)
VB - What is the code to pass this data to the Profile Sample program?
I am VERY new to VB programming. I have trouble giving up LISP.
I don't seem to be able to run a set of my custom programsn that I have been runnning since R2009.
I get the untrusted location dialogue box, the commands have demand loaded into the registry but when I run I get unknown command or nothing happens and no text on the command line.I have tried Rebuilding the code to target R2014 and also turning off the trusted switch all to no avail.
We just discovered data at our office, and I am pretty stoked about them 90% of the time. We do have one problem with them though. We are doing a small road, with 10 or so alignments and a few pipe networks of 40 pipes and structures. 1 surface, and that is about it. I made a cross sections sheet with our design file xrefed and data references to everything in it. Now it won't open. I can copy it to my local hard drive, run a recover, and then open it, save it back, add in all the data references and redo labels, but I can't open it from there.
Is there some way to have it open without syncing?
