i've got a drawing that locks up when switching from model space to paper space, and i've determined it's the contours causing it. i guess during regen it can't work with the contours. if i freeze the contours it doesn't happen.

I am trying yo model river corridor with 4 locks on it. On every locks different between levels is about 2-3m. I it is possible to create profile perependicular to bottom of river. How to create it?
Another question how to later connect surface. I mean Existing ground and corridor intersect. Ho to prepare later for render Existing ground with cutted corridor river? where I am below EG.
I have a new machine that locks up when doing basic tasks. Things such as pedit, switching tabs, undo. I am beginning to think that it is hardware related because the same drawing work perfectly fine in older machines

This is the first build with a SSD and this Video Card. I have the AMD V4900 in two other machines and they seem to be adequate but wanted a better card for this build.
Each time I attempt to import a USGS .adf file the program becomes unresponsive and locks up
approx 450,000KB in size
Recently upgraded to Civil 3D 2013 and drawings opened up fine. Now today any drawing that opens shows the plan view as last saved but then after loading takes the drawing and shifts it into a 3d view similar to a crossection. Is there a setting somewhere that has been changed? I noticed after a windows 7 update was preformed.

At least once a day, upon starting up Inventor 2013, it locks up at the introduction display(with the progress bar). I just installed Inventor 2013. Inventor 2012 did not do this.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am running Inventor 2013 with vault 2013 on a brand new system. Everything was working great for a week or so, then inventor started to lock up during checkin. It would lock up with even a small simple part. I had the IT department try to remote in and change settings, with not luck. Then they "rebuilt" the system over again, this got things working for about another week and after that the problem started up again.

Autocad 2012 LT locks up when using the copy and move commands. This last for a minute or more then starts working again. The rest of the computer works fine while this is going on. Intel i7 2600 16 GB ram Nvidia G force GTX 460 video card, Windows 7 Home Edition with SP 1 and latest upgades.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThis morning I opened AutoCad LT 2005 and was going to print a map with multiple layers. Everytime I tried to open the layers tool AutoCad LT 2005 would lock up. I would go to the task manager and it showed that it was still running but I could not do anything in the program. I closed Autocad LT from the task manager and opened up a blank document and tried to view layers and it locked up once again. I re-installed AutoCad LT 2005 from original disk and still I have the same behavior.

I can go back 2009 version and have no problems inserting the same raster. The raster is a Mr.Sid format file
I have an assembly I've been working on for a while. It was fine until after opening it one day, any changes I make cause inventor to freeze up for several minutes before completing whatever it is that I was trying to accomplish. Most of the changes are with constraints (adding parts and constraining them or changing constraints that were already in place), but I even tried to just rotate a part and Inventor locked up. I'll get the green loading bar at the bottom right corner, and it will run through a couple of times before it stops. The freezing seems to be tied to this assembly only, but I'm trying to find any other way to fix the problem before having to completely restart the assembly. I've worked with bigger assemblies before and have never run into this problem.

They know that if they are opening a file for messurements and the like they should just open read only so someone else can go in and revise. WIth one user she opens the file as read-only and its still not allowing others to open it normaly. Anyone else can open read-only and a second person can go in open it regular. We have a mix of LT 12 and 13 and i think 1 full version of 12. But we tested with drawings between just two of the LT 2012 computers, and the result is the same.

Our company as a .ctb file that has been in use for some time. I have upgraded to 2013 and now...
When I open up old files that contain sheets and page setup.
If I attempt to "Modify" or "Create New" Page setup "Page Setup Manager" goes into lock down and freezes everything.
I am unable to change the setup to re-assign the proper .ctb.
I checked with a new document and I am able to access and use the right .ctb.
This is duplicated on everyone of the machines in our office that has 2013 running on PC.
The one machine with Autocad for Mac 2013 works just fine.
right now we out of four computer, we only have one computer running 2008 that do any printing or PDF'ing.
I tried changing the .CTB to an .STB, with no success. Changing the color space does not appear to work.
Is there a problem with my .ctb file that makes it not compatible with 2013?
I 'm in the middle of our annual Autodesk software upgrades to the 2010 releases. One of my power users is having a problem with Inventor locking up everytime he selects the Annotation Ribbon Panel with an IDW open. I was able to reproduce this problem on the same workstation under my admin account. I tried to repair the installation and that did not work.

I just installed 2012 with the Inventor pro suite. when I tried to open multiple dwg's it locked up on certain dwg's and I got the error " no cavas click on new canvas". I read an existing post that said
"I went into the CUI, current workspace, removed the Sketchbook Designer from showing in the Ribbon"
I could not find this in my cui current workspace and is this the best solution?

View 7 Replies View RelatedCurrently running Photoshop CS6 and a trial version of HDR Efex pro 2 downloaded from the official Nik website. The issue is simply this:
1. I click Merge multiple images or Merge to HDR Efex pro 2 in the file menu.
2. The program becomes unresponsive.
I can't select images, no box pops up for it. It just hangs..I can force quit with task manager and I can alt+tab to other windows, but the HDR efex 2 box and photoshop program can't be clicked, moved, or used at all. It is highly frustrating and I've reinstalled numerous times. I've also loaded up an old copy of CS5 that I had and the same thing happens.
I've recently reinstalled windows and previously CS 5 + HDR Efex worked fine, but since the reformat it now does this.
I have to task manger my way out i have updated PS the dialogue box does not come up. it is PS not the printers.

I have been working on an invitation to party, and have saved it multiple times. I got it to look the way I wanted, exited the program, but this morning when I try to re-open it, the entire program locks up. It it saved in the PSP format. The thumbnail looks good, but for some reason I can't get the thing to open.

Task manager says "not responding." Re-booted several times however locks up at the same point near the end of the start-up screen load.
View 6 Replies View RelatedNot having any other issues with my new system other than Photoshop CS. This has happened four times now and the last time was a trip. Running CS on a Mac dual G5 with 1GB ram...working on two image files approximately 20MB each.
This happens when saving a file...the spinning rainbow wheel of death will just spin and spin and I can't get access to Photoshop again. Can't force it to quit and it will eventually lock up my system so bad that I have to use the manual shut down button on the front of the system.
Yesterday it did this and the spinning wheel came up and my monitor went to sleep! Could not wake it up, then the fans kicked into overdrive and they kept getting louder and louder like the processor was cranking away on something. I had to force the computer to shut down again.
Any ideas what's causing this? My RAM allocation is set to 50% in Photoshop, so it should not be a ram issue and there are NO other programs running.
i do a couple of brushstrokes, especially with brushes larger than 50 pixels, the program locks up my computer. It worked just fine before, but then my video card broke, and i had to use my onboard card that takes 32 mb's out of the computer RAM. When i tried to use a friend's card, photoshop worked just fine! I've tried photoshop 6, 7, cs and cs3, none of them work, they all crash.
View 2 Replies View RelatedProblem just started. When I try to load PS7 it works fine until it gets to "sorting font list" then it locks up and won't load any further. I loaded PS6 just fine. I have both installed.
My OS is Win 98SE, 512 RAM. I have been having problems with motherboard and am running system in DOS. Need a new PCI card or motherboard. Could this be the problem? I have had the motherboard problem for about two weeks. But I have been running PS7 all day today several times without a hitch. I have not tried reinstalling yet. Wanted to check here first to see if problem has occured with someone before and they found solution.
From LR5.2 edit in Photoshop locks up LR and PS doesn't open. Only Task Manager frees up LR.This started happening out of the blue in the middle of a day working like this and not doing anything else.
It also happend six months ago with LR5.0. Then, it freed up when I removed a program I'd installed so assumed that was the cause. This time, I removed anything updated or installed in the past day but no effect. Also update ACR. No effect.
Searching this forum it appears similar problems go unresolved so particapants clearly give up and presumably the situation corrects itself ultimately. Or maybe it never does!! Who knows? Certainly not Adobe who never respond here. They shift responsibility to their customers to provide support for each other. Amazing cheek! Imagine if a motor company did that!! Oh, your car needs servicing, take it round to Joe Bloggs and leave it on his driveway...
I can't afford these hiccups and the lack of interest, concern or care from Adobe is galling. They are so big and ubiquitous that they feel they can ignore their customers. And they do and they get away with it.
How can I draw points in Civil 3d using GPS coordinates?
Is it any way to input the coordinates manually if i have only a few key points, and then superimpose my topography or other objects? or should I insert a data file to get the points first? How can I upload the data file from my GPS tool, and how to figure out in which format to insert it?
I would like to draw with using the GPS coordinates itself, NOT the northing and easting( X,Y,) is it possible?
I have a drawing that was working fine yesterday but today every Civil 3D command takes several minutes (3 or more). I have two very small surfaces and two cross sections. I deleted 3 grading objects.I've run audit and recover, audit found some errors it fixed but recover didn't find any. I have shut down and rebooted. I just tested a similar drawing and it works fine.
