Trying to open a DNG or a NEF file causes ACR to lock completely. The only way to quit is to Force Quit. I am a MAC user, Mavericks, long time PSCC user. This problem just occurred. It is not a plug-in conflict.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFrom LR5.2 edit in Photoshop locks up LR and PS doesn't open. Only Task Manager frees up LR.This started happening out of the blue in the middle of a day working like this and not doing anything else.
It also happend six months ago with LR5.0. Then, it freed up when I removed a program I'd installed so assumed that was the cause. This time, I removed anything updated or installed in the past day but no effect. Also update ACR. No effect.
Searching this forum it appears similar problems go unresolved so particapants clearly give up and presumably the situation corrects itself ultimately. Or maybe it never does!! Who knows? Certainly not Adobe who never respond here. They shift responsibility to their customers to provide support for each other. Amazing cheek! Imagine if a motor company did that!! Oh, your car needs servicing, take it round to Joe Bloggs and leave it on his driveway...
I can't afford these hiccups and the lack of interest, concern or care from Adobe is galling. They are so big and ubiquitous that they feel they can ignore their customers. And they do and they get away with it.
There is no crash report. With Bridge CS5 everything works fine. (Opening RAWs with minibridge CS6 works file too.)
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just installed 2012 with the Inventor pro suite. when I tried to open multiple dwg's it locked up on certain dwg's and I got the error " no cavas click on new canvas". I read an existing post that said
"I went into the CUI, current workspace, removed the Sketchbook Designer from showing in the Ribbon"
I could not find this in my cui current workspace and is this the best solution?

CS6 locks up when I open a RAW file. Doesn't matter how I open the file. Other files open fine. This just started happening and I haven't changed anything on my PC. I'm running Windows 7 and have plenty of RAM.
View 4 Replies View RelatedBefore I installed CS6, I removed CS6 Beta and my copy of CS5 using tools provided by Adobe. When I run Bridge, I notice that for each of the Open With apps shown, they are listed twice.
When I choose a JPEG or raw photo it opens with no problem, but when I open a PNG, I have to choose open with since my Mac will open it in PREVIEW. When I choose open with PS, it loads and opens a second Photoshop even though I have it open already.
Using CS3. Bridge has error message "Adobe Bridge has encounted a problem. Needs to close" It never opened. No problem in the past. Using WIndows XP Pro on a Dell.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWe are teaching 3 young 8 year olds Dreamweaver CS6 and Photoshop CS6 (recent installations). We are going fine with Dreamweaver but then we needed to learn how to manipulate images. In particular make new logos for the site and create images for uplaoding from the camera.
We are new to photoshop CS6 but wouldn't expect the issues we are getting right now.
We can't open jpegs completely. We get a transparent background or just a part image. Must be something we are doing wrong I guess. It looks fine in Bridge but really isn't loading well in Photoshop.

We have made a members login page which appears to be working but as you can see unfortunately we badly need to create a logo and make some images for their site which isn't created yet. Bridge will not longer allow me to open photo files directly into Camera Raw, saying a "qualifying" program must be open; I have Bridge and Photoshop CS 6.5 Extended open.

However, I can open the pictures in ACR 7.4, but again, those images will not open in Photoshop. View 18 Replies View RelatedI've been retreiving picture files from CD's and saving them to my computer through Adobe Bridge in CS3. When I put the CD in the CD drive, I would get a dialog box asking "Open With" and listing all the different programs that are in the computer like Adobe CS3, Adobe Bridge, Windows Media Player, etc. I highlight "Adobe Bridge" then "OK", and then click on that drive in my folders list and the pics open up in Bridge. My problem is that I (stupidly?) checked the box at the bottom of the dialog box that says something like "Always open with this program". Now when I load in the CD, that dialog box doesn't come up and the pic files don't come up in Bridge, even after going to that drive in my folders menu and clicking it..

I used to work with CS3 where double-clicking in Bridge on a psd-file would open it in Photoshop. Now, when I double click in Bridge (CS6) it opens a "quick time pro" file, which I definitely don't want. When I use the right mouse to "place in Photoshop" it does so, but then automatically converts the file into a smart object, which I don't want either. What need I do to open a psd-file in Bridge as normal psd-file in Photoshop?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Illustrator CS6 on a Mac OSX 10.7.4. Every time I choose File - New... or press 'cmd n' it locks up and I get the dreaded spinning ball cursor.
Opening a file by double clicking on an ai file in finder is fine.
I use mac OS 10.8.5, LR5.3 and PSCC.
I sent an image from LR5.3 to PSCC (via edit in PS) where I edited it and then saved it, under a new name, back to the same folder in the LR catalog. It does not seem to matter if I save as TIF or as PSD, I get the following message:
I can the choose SYNCHRONIZE FOLDER by R clicking the folder in lightroom and the image is promply displayed in the LR grid.
This is a recent problem. Don't know what I might have changed in preferences for either application.
So I received a DVD with an eps file on it from a graphics company. I was informed that I could open it in Illustrator and start editing the individual graphics within the file. But when I open it, it is just one image and won't let me edit it.
There are no locks on the image layers.
The graphics company told me that it was originally created in Indesign and then saved as an eps, so I don't really know what to do now.
It won't open and let me edit in any of the Adobe programs. I need these graphics to edit!

Most of the time I export photos from lightroom archive if I want to use a pic. Now I found that I can't load/edit this files in PS. Open yes, pic is to see, but there will be alwway a ring and I can't do anything. The only I can do is killing PS by TaskManager.
Open smaller pics ist just fine. So I found: convert the LR-Jpeg by another programm to 96ppi. Open it in PS an make it to 300ppi, edit the one and only layer, save it as usual Jpeg. Now it es a big edited Jpeg picture. (But doesn't make sence to change the sizes therefore) But if I try to edit this again, I will get the same hanging PS after it was opened.
Maybe it is an issue for large files in PS? And has nothing wih my LR-exported files to do?
