Of late I've been having difficulty with trying to open some of my PSD and TIFF files from within Bridge. I have the same problem from the Open Recent sub menu under File. I get a notification that pops up saying it can't open the file "...due to program error." This is a fairly recent problem I'm having.

View 1 Replies View RelatedBefore I installed CS6, I removed CS6 Beta and my copy of CS5 using tools provided by Adobe. When I run Bridge, I notice that for each of the Open With apps shown, they are listed twice.
When I choose a JPEG or raw photo it opens with no problem, but when I open a PNG, I have to choose open with since my Mac will open it in PREVIEW. When I choose open with PS, it loads and opens a second Photoshop even though I have it open already.
Using CS3. Bridge has error message "Adobe Bridge has encounted a problem. Needs to close" It never opened. No problem in the past. Using WIndows XP Pro on a Dell.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWe are teaching 3 young 8 year olds Dreamweaver CS6 and Photoshop CS6 (recent installations). We are going fine with Dreamweaver but then we needed to learn how to manipulate images. In particular make new logos for the site and create images for uplaoding from the camera.
We are new to photoshop CS6 but wouldn't expect the issues we are getting right now.
We can't open jpegs completely. We get a transparent background or just a part image. Must be something we are doing wrong I guess. It looks fine in Bridge but really isn't loading well in Photoshop.

We have made a members login page which appears to be working but as you can see unfortunately we badly need to create a logo and make some images for their site which isn't created yet. If I can keep them from games and from Minecraft then we will make progress
It needs to be ready soon so that I can get a domain for them and host it on my Dad's servers.
Bridge will not longer allow me to open photo files directly into Camera Raw, saying a "qualifying" program must be open; I have Bridge and Photoshop CS 6.5 Extended open.

However, I can open the pictures in ACR 7.4, but again, those images will not open in Photoshop. If I use the Mini Bridge in Photoshop, everything works fine, It seems there is a problem in the link from Bridge CS6 to Photoshop CS6.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been retreiving picture files from CD's and saving them to my computer through Adobe Bridge in CS3. When I put the CD in the CD drive, I would get a dialog box asking "Open With" and listing all the different programs that are in the computer like Adobe CS3, Adobe Bridge, Windows Media Player, etc. I highlight "Adobe Bridge" then "OK", and then click on that drive in my folders list and the pics open up in Bridge. My problem is that I (stupidly?) checked the box at the bottom of the dialog box that says something like "Always open with this program". Now when I load in the CD, that dialog box doesn't come up and the pic files don't come up in Bridge, even after going to that drive in my folders menu and clicking it..

I used to work with CS3 where double-clicking in Bridge on a psd-file would open it in Photoshop. Now, when I double click in Bridge (CS6) it opens a "quick time pro" file, which I definitely don't want. When I use the right mouse to "place in Photoshop" it does so, but then automatically converts the file into a smart object, which I don't want either. What need I do to open a psd-file in Bridge as normal psd-file in Photoshop?
For no reason that I can think of, When I click on a single image in Bridge to preview or to try and select multiple images to load as layers or merge to HDR, the first image clicked opens in ACR. How can i Stop this?

Certainly I have tried some basic troubleshooting hoping that it will fix the bug (saving the file and Restarting PS, restarting my computer) but it still couldn't do anything.
I have thoughts of asking the tutorial owner regarding this matter but I have doubts since I believe that there is a high possibility that it is the program itself which is malfunctioning.
my photoshop is acting really weird. i thought i ahd fixed it but i obviously havent. the thing is, my text size wont go bigger then 18px. and i have no clue why.
when no windows are open i can set it to whatever size i want, but when i click new file or open, it goes right back to 18px.

I am currently taking web design with the centre for distance education and am trying to do a fairly basic assignment with photoshop. So, I am being asked to first create a layer with an orange fill to it. Then I am asked to create a layer mask, I am then asked to put an image behind the orange which I am then asked to use the brush tool with black to see through the orange colour and through to the image. I am having no problem with this until I am asked to change the brush colour to white and go over the previously bushed areas and restore the orange colour. When I do this nothing happens.

This was very useful because it allows one to hide certain elements or, more importantly, choose which element appears on top when two elements (e.g., two data points) overlap without having to break the graph.
I can't seem to do this in CS6. Is there a new trick I need to learn here or has this functionality intentionally been deactivated?
I'm relatively new to Illustrator (I'm a fine artist not a graphics professional) and having some difficulty with preparing pdf files for screen printing positives.I passed some of my photos through Vector Magic anf got a 3 color vector pdf.I converted the colors to global spot cmyk.What I need to do is get each color onto a separate layer. I don't have a postscript printer and would like to have everything prepared before I take artwork to a print shop to get screen positives printed.For some reason when I go Select > Same > Fill color (and either cut to a new layer or select inverse and delete on a duplicated layer) I'm not getting everything showing up. It looks like the document needs to be flattened or something, though I have tried that with no effect.

just upgraded from CS5 to CS6 (originally had CS3) now when trying to load images which were loaded in 2002 when using CS3 I get an error message 'windows cannot find C:Program files(x86)Adobe PhotoshopCS3Photoshop.exe Make sure you typed the name correctly then try again' I assume that there is an association with a file that no longer exists how can I change this?
