In PS CS3 there was a preference setting to automatically open Bridge when Photoshop was launched.

Is there any way to get both apps to launch simultaneously?
For no reason that I can think of, When I click on a single image in Bridge to preview or to try and select multiple images to load as layers or merge to HDR, the first image clicked opens in ACR. How can i Stop this?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've just recently upgraded to CS2 from version 7 as well as upgrading to a new G5 dual 2.7 gHz Mac. I love the new Mac and I'm having a lot of fun with it so far. However, I've set Photoshop preferences to automatically launch Bridge at startup but it opens the Open Script dialog instead. When I launch Bridge and select an image to be opened in Photoshop it does nothing.
I've tried uninstalling Photoshop and deleting preferences but it still doesn't fix this problem. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, have you found the solution. I've looked all over the Adobe site (and here) for an answer but have found nothing.
Recently Photoshop CS6 has started automatically opening up to a certain photo every time I launch it. I'd like to stop this behavior.

I am on a MacPro running Mt. Lion, all sw is up to date.
There are 4 jpgs that launch automatically when I launch photoshop PS6. They are beinf stored somewhere else and have been renamed by the system. On a new MacPro 3.2 Quad, running 10.7.5.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am running CS5.1 and suddenly Illustrator gets hung up on opening a particular file every time I launch. I do want to open this file, but since I just get the spinning rainbow every time I do - I'm guessing it's corrupt now - I've tried to work on other files. Any other file launches fine, but then it quickly tries to open this corrupt file too, hanging up the program until I force quit.

There is not an AutoRecovery folder or .psb file anywhere to be seen in the Photoshop or Adobe library folders, and I have looked everywhere. I have a brand new imac w/ OS x. I have tried searching everywhere for the file and folder, even in places that make no sense. I have searched my entire computer, even visually looking in every folder.

I have read a few message boards and apparently the file should be where it is supposed to be (file path above) and deleting it will solve this issue, but I cannot find it.
I have had this problem intermittently for years with different versions and different computers, but this time it is not going away. I need to use the 64 bit version for large files, but it keeps crashing in several different ways.

1- I open the program from the desktop. It shows the spash screen, shows the workspace for a couple of seconds, and then crashes with the message:

I am using the latest version.My video card drivers are totally up to date.I am using a decent computer with 16 gig of ram.I am opening the program as an administrator.I have reset the prefrences too many times to count by deleting the prefrences and holding down ctrl+alt+shift at startup.

2- If by some wild stretch of the imagination I get the program to start with totally cleared prefrences and running as administrator then the program will crash about 75% of the time when using "Save As".If I try to do anything special like create a new folder to put the file into then the chances of a crash increase greatly.

3- If I try to open up a file from Lightroom, even if the files are opening every other way, Photoshop will crash very often.

What is going on here? I have made no changes to my computer, have not installed any new programs, and, as I stated earlier, have everything updated. I even stopped using plugins a long time ago because I did not want to take the chance that it was going to cause this fragile program to crash, so all plugins are uninstalled. Why does this keep happening? When this has happened before everything will work fine for months and then suddenly I cannot get the program to open. When it does open again, for seemingly as unknown a reason as when it stopped, it will work anywhere from a few minutes to another couple of months.

This seems to be a problem that tons of people have, but I have not been able to find any answer other than "Delete Settings" or "Run as Administrator" or "Update *****."Â What can I do to keep this from happening and to fix it when it happens?
In Photoshop CS5: when you closed an image, you'd automatically go back to Bridge, where you could open the next image.

Now you close an image, and you stay in Photoshop with a blank screen.

You have to go to the dock, and click Bridge.

How can I get the CS5 way back, so I don't have to do two unnecessary steps each time?
Before I installed CS6, I removed CS6 Beta and my copy of CS5 using tools provided by Adobe. When I run Bridge, I notice that for each of the Open With apps shown, they are listed twice.
When I choose a JPEG or raw photo it opens with no problem, but when I open a PNG, I have to choose open with since my Mac will open it in PREVIEW. When I choose open with PS, it loads and opens a second Photoshop even though I have it open already.Â
Using CS3. Bridge has error message "Adobe Bridge has encounted a problem. Needs to close" It never opened. No problem in the past. Using WIndows XP Pro on a Dell.

We are going fine with Dreamweaver but then we needed to learn how to manipulate images. In particular make new logos for the site and create images for uplaoding from the camera.

We can't open jpegs completely. We get a transparent background or just a part image. Must be something we are doing wrong I guess. It looks fine in Bridge but really isn't loading well in Photoshop.

We have made a members login page which appears to be working but as you can see unfortunately we badly need to create a logo and make some images for their site which isn't created yet. Bridge will not longer allow me to open photo files directly into Camera Raw, saying a "qualifying" program must be open; I have Bridge and Photoshop CS 6.5 Extended open.Â

When I put the CD in the CD drive, I would get a dialog box asking "Open With" and listing all the different programs that are in the computer like Adobe CS3, Adobe Bridge, Windows Media Player, etc. I highlight "Adobe Bridge" then "OK", and then click on that drive in my folders list and the pics open up in Bridge. My problem is that I (stupidly?) checked the box at the bottom of the dialog box that says something like "Always open with this program". Now when I load in the CD, that dialog box doesn't come up and the pic files don't come up in Bridge, even after going to that drive in my folders menu and clicking it..

I use one for sharpening with the following steps:

1. Convert to Lab Mode
2. Select Lightness Channel
3. Open Unsharp Mask Dialogue Box
4. Convert back to RGB Mode

The "Dialogue" box is correctly toggled to "on" in Step # 3

However when I execute the Action, the Dialogue Box for USM doesn't automatically pop up, as it did in CS4 - but if I click anywhere on the screen, it then does.

I tried recreating the same action in CS5, but it has the same problem - the Dialogue Box for USM doesn't open by itself, and only does so after I click anywhere on the screen.

Trying to open a DNG or a NEF file causes ACR to lock completely. The only way to quit is to Force Quit. I am a MAC user, Mavericks, long time PSCC user. This problem just occurred. It is not a plug-in conflict.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have upgraded my Elements 9 to Elements 12. I used to be able to open a raw file directly into the raw editor in Elements 9. With Elements 12 I click to open the raw file with Elements 12 but Elements opens into the basic editor with no picture opening. I then have to select Open Camera Raw from the file menu and select the photo again. The photo then opens. Is there a setting i can change so that elements 12 opens directly into the raw editor?
