Photoshop :: Why Won't Bridge CS6 Launch
Jul 11, 2012
I've just installed Photoshop CS6 (64bit). I cannot launch Adobe Bridge - I get the message "Waiting for Bridge CS6." and it won't progress beyond this point. I've rebooted the PC, but still the same.

When I attempt to launch PSCS6 from Bridge, it hangs and I get a Run Time error... R6034. At that point all I can do is restart my computer. CS6 works fine as long as I don't try to get into it through Bridge. How to fix?

In PS CS3 there was a preference setting to automatically open Bridge when Photoshop was launched.
This setting seems to be absent in CS5.
Is there any way to get both apps to launch simultaneously?

I've just recently upgraded to CS2 from version 7 as well as upgrading to a new G5 dual 2.7 gHz Mac. I love the new Mac and I'm having a lot of fun with it so far. However, I've set Photoshop preferences to automatically launch Bridge at startup but it opens the Open Script dialog instead. When I launch Bridge and select an image to be opened in Photoshop it does nothing.
I've tried uninstalling Photoshop and deleting preferences but it still doesn't fix this problem. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, have you found the solution. I've looked all over the Adobe site (and here) for an answer but have found nothing.

Just installed CS5.1 a couple of weeks ago. Runs no problem in 64 bit. But 32 bit is a different story..In Mac, Get info, and set CS5 to open in 32 bit, CS5 launches an instantly freezes with the spinning beach ball.I can't do anything expect force quit.Mac Pro, 8 core, 10 GB ram, OS 10.5x
I need to be able to run in 32 bit for plug-ins that are not 64 bit.

purchased the 5.5-upgrade to 6.0 Designpremium. Everything seems to work properly except the bridge, wich won't start as stand-alone - works only as Mini-bridge inside photoshop.
While trying to start the bridge from photoshop ("go to bridge") results in a bridge's crash...
In my former installations (5.0 and 5.1) everything was ok ...

After opening Bridge CS6 (and using mini Bridge), there are no thumbnails showing. I've pointed Bridge to just one folder with less than 5 photos in it and it cannot even display them. I'm running a recent Mac Pro with 16GB RAM and kick graphics card.

Whenever I try to open the Brushes panel, the Bridge window pops up. I know that Bridge is a media manager, so I'm not sure why is it opening. I really need to edit the brushes and I can't find a way to do it. Is there a way to disable bridge or another way to open the brushes panel that won't open bridge?

I have a fully activated copy of Photoshop CS6 64-bit and it has been working fine up until this week. I attempted to launch it earlier today. All that happens is the computer indicates its reading the harddrive then just stops and nothing happens. Further clicking on the shortcut brings up the loading indicator for 2 seconds and then nothing happens.
After consulting the internet, I discovered it could be a GPU driver issue. I checked for an update, installed it, restarted and still no luck.I also booted into safe mode to see if a program was conflicting with it, Photoshop wouldn't launch there either.
PC Spec:
AMD Bulldozer FX-4100 @ 3.6GHz
16GB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia 8600GT (I know it's old, but I've had no previous issues with it and photoshop)
Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Adobe Photoshop CS6 64-bit

Photoshop CS6 will not launch on my Mac running Lion 10.7.4. I've re-installed 4 times. The problem initially happened after installing a popular 3rd party script, (which works fine on my other computers) but I have trasehd those script files plus un-installed & re-installed Photoshop multiple times and it continually crashes on start-up. The error messages I am getting are attached to this message. The start up-screen launches but then it crashes after it says "Loding brushes..."

I tried going into the finder window and double clicking on the launch that way, but same thing...nothing. I also tried to open a photo and .psd file and still nothing. Photoshop was working on Friday (10/19), I installed some updates Friday evening/saturday moring. Bridge does still work.

I've been having an odd problem recently with Photoshop under 64-bit Vista. When trying to open it (whether by clicking on a file associated with it, my desktop shortcut, from the start menu, or on the *.exe file itself), it fails to launch 90% of the time and opens the remaining times at seeminly random intervals.
For each time I try to open it and it fails, though, a new listing of "Photoshop.exe *32" shows up under the processes tab of the Windows Task Manager.
Just yesterday, I did a clean install of Windows and reinstalled CS3 Master Collection, and the problem is still there. I've tried disabling nearly every non-Microsoft service from the MSConfig utility, and it still happens.

I recently re-installed P/S 4.0 which I have been using without problems on this computer for years. I had rebooted the hard drive and when I reinstalled the program for 4.0 it indicated a successful installation. The program appears where it should in the "All Programs" menu, but when I click on it I get an error message: "There is not enough memory (RAM) to launch Phot0Shop." I am running Windows XP Home Edition, SP2, I have more than 500 MB of available RAM, and I have used this program on this and other computers for years. I am also using Norton 360. Anyone else have this problem? Is there a setting elsewhere I need to modify? I even tried installing the minimum version. Same result.

Every time I open Photoshopp CC on my Mac Pro (8-core, 32Gb RAM) I get the spinning beachball of death and the app is completely unresponsive. I have logged out and back in to the CC to no purpose. I am completelt fed up with continually beta testing Adobe's software and paying through the nose for it.
There is also no crash log generated, nor an opportunity to submit one.

One of my users has had Photoshop CS6 installed pretty much since launch with no issues, however since last week just after launching a Windows error report pops up informing the user that it has crashed, however if the user simply moves the error report window to one side Photoshop will continue functioning normally, but as soon as "Don't Send/Dubug/Send Report" is pressed Photoshop closes.
Below is the error information taken from Event viewer - The machine is running XP SP3, 3GB RAM and an ATI Radeon HD 3600 Graphics card.

Running a imac, 10.84 OS. Downloaded and installed CC suites on June 24. Things seemed fine, but 4 days later, I am getting spinning beach balls all over and then my computer wouldn't repair itself or start up.Out of desparation, I took it to the apple store. I found the hardware was good, they reinstalled a fresh OS and wiped everything clean. I backed up from time machine, everything seemed aok, but no such luck, things are not good with CC products.
Currently, I cannot open Photoshop CC "Could ot initialize photoshop because of a program error" even after removing, cleaning and reinstalling it.
I can get Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro to open a pdf file for a second, it then shuts down and tells me "Adobe Acrobat was installed as a part of a suite. To enable Adobe Acrobat, start another componant of this suite (such as photoshop)"-even while Illustrator CC is open and working (the only CC application that hasn't had problems.

Other programs, including Bridge CS4 works fine, just Photoshop. I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium, this is a Dell XPS computer with 8GB of RAM
