Photoshop :: CS6 Automatically Open Certain Image On Launch?
May 11, 2013
Recently Photoshop CS6 has started automatically opening up to a certain photo every time I launch it. I'd like to stop this behavior.
Â
I am on a MacPro running Mt. Lion, all sw is up to date.

When I open an image by double clicking on the file name, or by right-click > open in > photoshop, immediately up pops an image saying "Some Clipping May Occur" or the print dialogue in some cases.
But, if I drag the file into PS and drop it, it does not try to print it. So it seems to be something about actually "opening" a file that makes it want to print. I tried changing the file association to another program then back, but it didn't work. I'm using WinXP

In PS CS3 there was a preference setting to automatically open Bridge when Photoshop was launched.
Â
This setting seems to be absent in CS5.
Â
Is there any way to get both apps to launch simultaneously?

I am running CS5.1 and suddenly Illustrator gets hung up on opening a particular file every time I launch. I do want to open this file, but since I just get the spinning rainbow every time I do - I'm guessing it's corrupt now - I've tried to work on other files. Any other file launches fine, but then it quickly tries to open this corrupt file too, hanging up the program until I force quit.

I just did a reformat, and I used to be able to open DNG's in ACR just by double clicking them, but I can't figure out what setting that was. It was nice to avoid having to right click and select Open in Camera Raw, and just press enter.Â

I have been away for a few months and now, when I go to open a RAW image in CS6, it tries to default to Photoshop, then opens in Camera RAW. This is something new. How do I get RAW images to open automatically in ACR (Adobe Camera Raw)? They did before (two months ago). They do not now. I can, of course, right click and go to the dropdown menu and tell it to open in RAW but that is an extra, unnecessary step. There's a saying..."It's not a bug, it's a feature." No, this seems to be a bug. What happened?

Is there any way to have Photoshop CS5 automatically open files at startup? I have 3 files that I use as "templates", and it would be nice if they launched along with the program.

I have a very large PDF that I need to open in Photoshop (It is a template image). The size of the image is 125.9843" x 91.5354".
Â
However, when I open in Photoshop the image is automatically resized to about 106" x 79". I have tried to manually input the dimensions upon opening the file, however, when I open the file and check "Image Size" the dimensions are 106" x 79" again.
Â
I can open the image in Illustrator at the correct dimensions automatically, and the PDF file itself is at the correct dimensions.
Â
[I am using Photoshop CS5.1]

File-> Open is the only way I can open files with 64-bit.When I clicking icons or right click-> Open With they only open with the 32-bit version. (Even though I've set the default program to 64-bit)
Â
I'm able to open 64 bit by shortcut and it runs very well, about 10 times faster loading time and extremely smoothly for everything I do.
Â
Here is my system info:
Windows 7 Home Premium SP1Â Â Intel Core i5-3330 @ 3.0 GHz (3.2 Turbo) (2nd Generation i5 processor)Â Â 8 GB Ram 1600 Mhz (800 MHz for each 4 GB stick) (1GB shared memory for onboard graphics, 6.94GB useable) Â Â Gigabyte GA-B75M-HD3 Motherboard

I like to edit my images in Photoshop. why after I upload raw files into LR and using photoshop as external editor, the file opens but not in the PS (photoshop) raw processor. I have to work around this by first finding the image in windows explorer and dragging this file into PS. Shouldn’t the file open automatically in the PS raw processor ?Â

I render in 3ds Max and output .exr files. Whenever I open them the dialoge box pops up to ask me if I'd like to assign a working profile or assign a specific profile. Is there some way that I can tell PS to just always assign a working profile so I don't always have to go through that dialoge box?

When opening an image in Photoshop CS6, in order to make the best use of the available screen area for viewing my photos, I have to either press the 'Fit Screen' option, at the top, or double-click the Hand Tool. Why doesn't the image fully fit in the available screen area automatically, when first opening? Is there a reason for images to open by default with empty space surrounding it, or is it an oversight by Adobe, in how the application works?

We have a couple of issues with Illustrator CC on a number of workstations?
Â
1. It randomly switches between open windows; if I am working in one window it will switch to another open window even if that window is put in the dock.

2. Constantly crashes.

i mean, when re-sizing(transform) an image, it automatically blured the edges or the image itself(so the image looks fine), but when i installed the photoshop CS and un-installed it coz its expired already(demo) and installed the photoshop 7 again, the nightmare begins. when i resize an image i saw it pixelated(not good). is there any settings on this?? and when the 1st time i opened the photoshop 7, it tells me to install it on another volume(but i dont have another disk/ partition).

I get 3rd party zip files from our consultants.
They contain the consultant's DWG, plus our office's initial plans in DWG, logos, fonts, etc.
I used to be able to simply Extract the zipped file and then open up the main DWG. Then the main DWG and all associated XREFs would open smoothly. Now, when I open the consultant DWG, none of the XRefs are opening and being placed automatically, and I can only see the consultant's DWG, which looks like a bunch of blips because there's no context.
How I can get things back to normal? One click that will automatically open and re-associate/re-attach all the XREFs needed? I tried attaching a zip file as an example but it exceeds the maximum allowed

Many (weaker) programs allow you to drag an image into a template and have it resize to fit into a specific area. Can this be done in CS6? For instance .... if you designed a 4x6 Christmas card template and it had a (place holder?) for a 2x2 photograph, and you dragged an image into this 2x2 area, can it resize automatically to "fill" just that 2x2 area? This would result in some cropping of just the longest dimension, if the image inserted wasn't a square.

On adobe photoshop, I know that there is a program that automatically resizes images for you.
I'm pretty sure there is program that automatically puts an image on each photo for you, that you choose in a folder.
Ex: How do you put your logo on the bottom of the right corner (or anywhere) on all the photos you put in a folder?

When I'm moving a picture onto a canvas, it is automatically resized to a very small size. I wish only for the picture to move onto the canvas, then still keeping it's size. Afterwards, I wish to resize it myself using ctrl + t but the automatic small size is preventing me from making it better size, and less pixelated. Does anyone has a solution to turn off this automatic resizing?
