Lightroom :: 5.0 Fails To Automatically Open Import Dialog When Memory Card Inserted
Jun 16, 2013Lightroom 5.0 fails to detect memory card and open import dialog. This has always worked fine in Lightroom 4, 3,and 2. Same cards, same camera, same iMac using OS X 10.8.4. Manual importing works OK, card is detected just fine.

Oct 31, 2013I was unable to even open After Effects CC when I upgraded to OS Mavericks. Once I realized adobe released a patch for it (the 12.0.1 "trial" update), the program opened. I thought all was fine, until I attempted to import a new video clip. It would not let me even move the clip, let alone edit it, before giving me a "grouping" error, and then abruptly crashing. Today Adobe released the 12.1 update, which seems to be running ok, except the window for importing footage automatically closes once opened. I can no longer just drag a new clip in to my composition either.

Jan 21, 2014I've been told that LR5 automatically corrects blown out highlights upon import, even with raw. Also, I was told that LR5 adds contrast to the file upon import, even with raw. The person that said this corrects for this by decreasing exposure by 2 steps and decreasing contrast by -33.

Apr 5, 2014I did a quick screen capture, and as you can see, the picture on the right (saturated) is the "unedited" version in lightroom, and the picture on the left is the raw file opened (used IrfanView). As you can see, my original file is quite flat, and I like it that way (easeier to edit), but lightroom imports it, and when I click on it to develop, it adds saturation. If I wanted to make it look like the origianl, I have to manually bring down the saturation by ~ -30! Why is Lightroom auto adjusting my images?
I used a Canon 6D to take this picture.

Dec 16, 2013Rather than manually applying lens correction profiles to images by each time having to correct one image and then sync with the rest, I would like LR 5 to automatically apply the appropriate lens correction (either by EXIF info or "default" profile) when importing from the camera (card).

Oct 10, 2012I like to edit my images in Photoshop. why after I upload raw files into LR and using photoshop as external editor, the file opens but not in the PS (photoshop) raw processor. I have to work around this by first finding the image in windows explorer and dragging this file into PS. Shouldn’t the file open automatically in the PS raw processor ?

Dec 5, 2013LR 5.2 was working beautifully, but after shooting a couple videos (.MOV) in addition to normal images (.JPG & .CR2) my LR 5.2 started playing up when I wanted to import the content of my SD card onto my PC.
LR 5.2 (on Win7, 64-bit) stopped displaying ANY images or movies in the import window. It doesn't matter whether the images (+/- movies) are on the SD card (from which I usually directly import), or any folder on my PC that contains images. LR 5.2 however has no problem displaying the images on my PC in the library window (as they have been imported into the catalog before the problem occurred).
I'm now stuck with hundreds of photos on my SD card that I can't seem to be able to import...
Lightroom :: Tiny Previews In Import Window?
Dec 31, 2013I sometimes get full size previews in the import window (when I double click on a picture in the grid), but usually they are tiny and get extremely pixelated when I try to make them bigger. This makes it very difficult to decide if a picture is good enough to import.

Dec 28, 2013Have downloaded L/R5 and am attempting to import for the first time. Source is "EOS_DIGIGTAL" SD card from Canon EOS. All pictures are on the card. When selecting "Import", a new window opens which is a "Copy as DNG" which, during reading all tutorials, is never mentioned. I would like to just import directly from the source card to Macintosh HD. Also, "NO PHOTOS" shows as well.

Jan 20, 2012I have created default settings by serial number for my Canon Mark III 1ds which include enabled lens profile corrections. I then created a user preset with these default corrections. Next I imported a folder of RAW images shot with this same Canon camera with the user profile checked as part of the import. When I switch to the Develop module and check the Lens Corrections panel, I see that although it is checked for each file, the actual make, model and profile are not populated.
Is this a bug or am I overlooking something on import? I understand that in LR 4, you can apply specific lens and camera calibration profiles to camera serial numbers (noise reduction etc too).

Lightroom :: 4 Constantly Crashing When Display Import Results Window
Apr 8, 2012I'm trying to synchronize my folders, and LR4 is consistently crashing when it attempts to display the "Import Results" window. This is on Win7 Pro, using LR4 64-bit. A portion of the pix being imported are successfully stored in the catalog, and the remainder are not. When I restart LR and attempt to synchronize again, the process repeats: find the new pictures (the ones that weren't stored in the previous attempt), start importing them, reach apparent 100%, start to display "Import Results" window and immediately crash.
I'd like to reach the point at which no pix remain to be imported.

I'm trying to figure out how to import text to illustrator automaticly.
I have olny a few parameters: the text, what font to use, the size of the text (the text width and length in mm as if the text would be converted to outlines, needs to be exactly the right size) and the coulor.
Usually its one line of text, sometimes more lines of wich i have the widht and length of the complete block of text
The parameters could be in a cvs-file or something like that, ideally all texts would be imported in one file but it could be seperate files
Texts should be converted to outlines and saved as AI version 3
Is it possible to do this?

I can, of course, right click and go to the dropdown menu and tell it to open in RAW but that is an extra, unnecessary step. There's a saying..."It's not a bug, it's a feature."
