May 15, 2012is there a setting that i can have whatever i scan automatically open up in gimp when i scan it...? it would save maybe 2 steps in my daily drill.

Photoshop :: How To Best Open 35 Mm Slide RAW Scan With 4000 Dpi In Camera RAW CS5
Jul 20, 2012I have, at present, set Camera Raw to open files as ProPhoto RGB and as 360 dpi. I want to keep all options open for later use of the files (for albums or enlargements). How do I get the best results so that I do not diminish the quality obtained in the scanning process (where I try to use only ICE and to leave all other editing to PS later - I know that the changes made by ICE are permanent so that I already here do not have a real RAW - but it is my impression that the choice of RAW over TIFF in the scanning is still worth it).
I have also some older scans but these are TIFF's, also 4000 dpi but only 8 bit. I want to get the best result from both types of files.
I plan to perform all edits before I finally save files in various print sizes. I am still quite scared as to make mistakes when resizing so that I get an inferior quality in the new size. I, of course, keep a copy of the original scans safe and unedited. I am also in doubt as to whether I should go directly into PS or via Camera Raw with the scans.
Photoshop :: Can't Seem To Open Scanner To Scan Directly Into Program
Nov 17, 2012So I just finally updated my OS and my Photoshop and just encountered something I wasn't expecting. I have an Epson GT15000 scanner(big one with a feeder) I installed all the drivers and everything and the scanner works fine, but I can't seem to open the scanner from Photoshop to scan directly into the program. I can open the scanner independently and scan it to a saved file and then open it in photoshop. But it only has limited file type options so I'm basically forced to save it as one file so that I can then open it in photoshop and resave it as something else which is kinda a rediculous in between step and also leaves me with extra files that need to be deleted. Since the scanner itself hasn't changed and still functions the same otherwise I'm assuming it's because I'm using a new version of Photoshop. I'm also assuming that I actually can scan in the program, just not in the way that I'm used to. I used to go to import, and the scanner would appear on the menu for me to select it.

Taking a photo has been tried, but it doesn't have the quality I want.

Dec 1, 2012I have been away for a few months and now, when I go to open a RAW image in CS6, it tries to default to Photoshop, then opens in Camera RAW. This is something new. How do I get RAW images to open automatically in ACR (Adobe Camera Raw)? They did before (two months ago). They do not now. I can, of course, right click and go to the dropdown menu and tell it to open in RAW but that is an extra, unnecessary step. There's a saying..."It's not a bug, it's a feature." May 25, 2008When I open an image by double clicking on the file name, or by right-click > open in > photoshop, immediately up pops an image saying "Some Clipping May Occur" or the print dialogue in some cases.
But, if I drag the file into PS and drop it, it does not try to print it. So it seems to be something about actually "opening" a file that makes it want to print. I tried changing the file association to another program then back, but it didn't work. I'm using WinXP

Aug 27, 2012I have a very large PDF that I need to open in Photoshop (It is a template image). The size of the image is 125.9843" x 91.5354".
However, when I open in Photoshop the image is automatically resized to about 106" x 79". I have tried to manually input the dimensions upon opening the file, however, when I open the file and check "Image Size" the dimensions are 106" x 79" again.
I can open the image in Illustrator at the correct dimensions automatically, and the PDF file itself is at the correct dimensions.
[I am using Photoshop CS5.1]

Mar 21, 2013File-> Open is the only way I can open files with 64-bit.When I clicking icons or right click-> Open With they only open with the 32-bit version. (Even though I've set the default program to 64-bit)
I'm able to open 64 bit by shortcut and it runs very well, about 10 times faster loading time and extremely smoothly for everything I do.

AutoCad :: Automatically Open And Reassociate / Reattach All XREFs
Nov 11, 2013I get 3rd party zip files from our consultants.
They contain the consultant's DWG, plus our office's initial plans in DWG, logos, fonts, etc.
I used to be able to simply Extract the zipped file and then open up the main DWG. Then the main DWG and all associated XREFs would open smoothly. Now, when I open the consultant DWG, none of the XRefs are opening and being placed automatically, and I can only see the consultant's DWG, which looks like a bunch of blips because there's no context.
How I can get things back to normal? One click that will automatically open and re-associate/re-attach all the XREFs needed? I tried attaching a zip file as an example but it exceeds the maximum allowed

Oct 10, 2012I like to edit my images in Photoshop. why after I upload raw files into LR and using photoshop as external editor, the file opens but not in the PS (photoshop) raw processor. I have to work around this by first finding the image in windows explorer and dragging this file into PS. Shouldn’t the file open automatically in the PS raw processor ?

They are all data referenced but require me to open the drawing and manually synch the entities each time. This drawings was functioning perfectly until this began just recenlty. AutoCad :: PDF To Automatically Open When Auto Publish Command Is Complete
May 16, 2013We have our options set to Auto Publish on Save (Autocad 2011). On some of our stations, the PDF will pop up automatically. This is what we WANT to happen. On other stations, the pdf has to be found and then opened to make sure it is correct. (this step, which is apparently way to difficult for some people, is not being performed, leading to extra work/time later to complete the project) I had everyone ensure their DWGtoPDF.pc3 custom properties was set to "open in PDF viewer when done" (and when they do a straight plot, it does come right up) It just wont do it when its thru Auto Publish. Mine is one of them that comes up just fine....I have looked at every setting I have and tried to compare with theirs, but it all looks the same.
