View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to ask if how to place a hand drawn picture inside the 4 view of the 3ds max development kit. I just want to create an animated character of my hand drawn picture. The sample figure of that is in the attachment file or on the link option.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a cartoon line drawing. The black outlines are anti aliased so the edges of the lines have different grades of gray pixels on them. When I use the fill tool, and adjust the fill with the opacity and tolerance sliders, (I think that's what they're called in GIMP), I still can't get what I want. Only some of the gray pixels are colored in. Others are canceled out. Completely covered by the color, erasing some of the line.
Or some pixels remain uncolored. Just gray instead of a combination of the gray AND the fill color. What I'm looking for is an effect that looks like I placed a colored gel shaped like the cartoon character over the drawing. All the different shades of gray pixels should still be seen. Even the ones that are lighter than the fill color. With a gel, those pixels would appear darker, even though they were lighter than the fill color without the gel over them. The darkness of the color PLUS the added darkness of even the lightest gray pixels should make all the pixels appear darker. And the line would appear complete. Not partially erased.
Is it at all possible to get this effect?
I've been trying so hard to achieve the look of this picture. I am not sure how to get the outline like if it's hand drawn and also the shadow that goes on the outline. Not sure what tools I should use to get the outline and shadow look that way. I already tried several brushes but I haven't found anything like this one.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there's any easy way to make lines to appear less precise as if they were hand drawn with a pencil?
eg.
I have seen brush strokes, but they only really provide a texture rather than a variation in the line as far as I have seen.
I hand drew some pictures of rats that I have to use for a video pitch assignment. I'd like to add some fur using the live effect found in the Eye Candy 4000 plugin. I have disabilities and drawing in Xara is very difficult. Is it possible to add a live effect to a picture without having to draw over it using the program? I also drew smiling cheese that I'd like to add the gradient glow live effect to.

I have designed a logo for a company rebrand which they are really happy with; the only thing is that one aspect of the logo is a kind of 'swirl stroke' (URL... ) which I had hand-drawn and modified in Illustrator. They would like this aspect of the logo to appear less hand-drawn, and be as symmetric and clean as possible (ie. in no way hand-drawn).

View 12 Replies View RelatedHow to simulate the following hand-drawn picture with Illustrator brushes and fills?
The situation would be... somebody would create a new vector drawing (i.e. made from a photo reference) with outlines and fills. With some easy steps he should be able to turn it into a vector drawing that resembles this style. It should be easy to do... maybe 2 or 3 steps. It could also work with add-ons or plug-ins or something (should work with CS4 upwards).
I designed a logo for some family friends, and the main part of the logo is hand-drawn, and it is made of multiple (a TON) of strokes. The company is getting t-shirts made, and the t-shirt company contacted me to get a "vector file with the fonts outlined." I know quite well how to do this on actual fonts, but how to outline a series of strokes.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've created a hand drawn vector in Adobe Ideas and imported it into Illustrator CC. I've used a basic example below to test this method, but I want to be creating more complex hand drawn vectors in the near future. You can see the same line in the 3 images below. The third image shows a close up of the line where it's surrounded by 2 paths. Any way that I can merge the 2 paths in the third image into 1 path?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a logo comprised of hand-drawn letters that exist as outlined vectors in my .ai file. I am trying to find out if there is an easy way to make each letter a bit “thinner”. I have been achieving this for digital purposes by adding a stroke to each letter that matches the color of the background it will be used on. This workaround has been effective in getting the look I want but becomes problematic when preparing files for printed applications (t-shirts, stickers, etc.)
Is there an easy way to somehow “thin-out” the letters equivalent to the amount of girth that the stroke appears to take off of each letter?
How to change black and white hand-prints into color for some art work for my kids. I am already able to switch between black and white between the foreground and background, but not able to change all of the black "color" to a different color including all the minor lines on the hand and foot prints.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I am basically a brand new user to ai-cs6 and have been working on a project for a friend. I've drawn up the basic components of the logo she wants, all separate individual pieces. My intention is/was to trace in each piece, and scale, rotate, and clean them up according to how the final piece should look. Where I'm running into trouble is that the sketches are not point perfect, meaning there's some shading in the hand drawn, and the lines are rough in areas. I'm trying to avoid redrawing the pieces because we both are really happy with where they're at.
What I'd like to do with ai-cs6. How to trace very simply a one line vector of the outline of the image. So instead of creating a piece that has stroke straight from the scanned in artwork, I get a single line, with multiple points, that flows the simple shape of the piece. From there it seems it would be pretty simple to just increase the stroke weight and modify the style of line to make it look how we would like. except that since the sketch has some rough line sections ai-cs6 is adding either a lot of detail and making it look pretty rough, or it's missing entire sections and leaving them blank.
I'm using a Mac Pro Quadcore with Snow Leopard version 10.6.8 and want to scan photos straight into Ps CS4 version 11.0.2 using a Canon Canoscan LIDE 100.
BUT when I go to Import there is no TWAIN option, there is only: Variable Data Sets (grayed out), Video Frames to Layers, Anti-Alised PICT, PICT Resources and Notes (grayed out).
I right click on Adobe Photoshop CS4 inside the Ps CS4 folder to bring up "Get Info" and click the check box that states "Open using Rosetta" BUT when I click open the Ps icon to open it Ps crashes straight away. I click "Reopen" and it crashes straight away. Un tick the Rosetta check box and Ps opens fine.
I assumed this was Apples problem because Rosettas is their program but after walking it through the Apple care operator and following his instructions to download a PowerPC version of VLC (which started up fine without doing a thing)to see if Rosetta was automatically installed, it worked fine, I was told that it's an Adobe problem.
Then I downloaded the TWAIN plugin and dropped it into the import-export folder and NOTHING!
The scanner works with Snow Leopards native Image Capture so it's not the scanner. Except that the scanner buttons dont seem to work when they used to on a MacBook. But here on the Mac Pro I cant find anything within the Ps menus that resembles "permission" to scan.
I need to do a lot of photo correction/remove blurred/restoration and read that it's better to scan the old photos straight into Ps to ensure no quality is lost during the scan. Regardless if this 100% true I still should be able to scan straight into Ps. I mean the CS4 package + Mac cost enough.
I am using the latest version of GIMP on my windows 7 pc but color to alpha doesn't work. At my pc at work it works fine but i use windows xp there and i have ghostscript and python installed.
Or is it something completely different?
This morning I was trying to get the color dynamics to work with the paint brushes. It seems that in 2.8 the "Color to Gradient" dynamics tool was taken out. (However, in the dynamics there are many cool options to choose from, just not gradient.) So getting frustrated, I searched the web after someone mentioned the "Color to Gradient" dynamics and I found this tutorial on creating a "Color to Gradient" dynamics from the dynamics editor.

I'm looking at tutorials on how to add strokes to text (I downloaded it today) and they say to use the color select tool. In their demonstration, when they select text, it has the normal dotted lines around it. For me, when I click it just has a thick border around it and it tells me to move my mouse to change the threshold. It won't select the text, just change the threshold when moving my mouse from left to right.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have loaded Photoshop 10 onto my Win 7 SP1 PC, and it seems to work fine, but when I load an image and zoom in until it exceeds the window size, then try to move the image around with the scroll bars, nothing happens. Since I am using the crop tool, when I depress the Spacebar and use the Hand Tool to move the image, then release the spacebar, THEN the scrollbars start working as they should. Loading another image starts this process all over again. Is there something I can do so that Photoshop 10 always allows Scrollbars to function on a newly opened image?

secondly, the hand tool does not seem to work? I select it, the 4 options appear in the tool bar above and the little hand Icon, but clicking and dragging on the file in the open window, has no effect, I cant move the file around the window as I supposed to be able to do.
I'm on CS6 on a year old iMac. Plenty of RAM and memory. For some reason all of a sudden, the tools on the left hand side of the screen won't work. All I get is the hand. What I hit or what happened. I've re-started PS, the computer and reset Bridge. How to reverse what happened?
View 2 Replies View Relatedi play around with a gimp-image. i want to "ERASE" the text in the balls.
Well i guess that this is a bit tricky - since the background of the circles/balls is somewhat different and has sometimes multiple "(!!!) background-colors. So if we try to get the original - color of the circles then this is somewhat tricky.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm a Model Railroader, as the screen name implies. "RRArtist" RailRoad Artist. Anyway, I have a MoPar garage, planned, I have this 3D model, built, I'm merely working on a sign, that is based off I think the 1950's.....This sign, will depict my interests in MoPar, a "Hemi", and the classy girls used back in the day, as part of the sign, AND will be lighted......SO, in 1/87th to the foot scale (Pretty small) its nearly impossible to get a "Hemi" motor, and be able to see that it is a Hemi! SO, my plan, is to take a 1:25th scale Hemi motor, and mount it to a sign pole, that's a pipe, to carry wires for lighting. Then UNDER this sign, will be a girl, that looks as tho, she is holding up a sign that says "Hemi" in the old "MoPar" signage.....UNDER her will be this Hemi Motor.....BUT the lighting is the fun part as the "lamp shades. will be CHROMED Hemi Valve Covers.....With the motor itself, painted orange, with black valve covers.....
Now this girl on the sign, is the issue.............. The girl is actually a blonde.....(don't ask LOL) I need to change her hair color... to red! Problem is? The clothing shes wearing, a short skirt, or short shorts, that are also...........RED.... so, it leaves way to much "red" for the sign......Looks good as is, don't get me wrong, BUT, if I can replace her blonde hair with red hair, to match the "looks" of the image, to be "believable" is GREAT, BUT I want to remove the red from her clothing, and make it Hemi Orange.......... trimmed in black with the silverish looks it already has, blended into the red as you will see...
This whole project is going on a display I'm adding to my layout for looks for when I run trains and to show my other interest.......... old MoPar muscle cars that were Hemi with a garage to repair them, from back in the day......Trying to make all the colors fall into place is my issue!
Some of the images paste in full color and others don't. They are all vector images and I can't figure out why some would only copy the outlines.
