I hand drew some pictures of rats that I have to use for a video pitch assignment. I'd like to add some fur using the live effect found in the Eye Candy 4000 plugin. I have disabilities and drawing in Xara is very difficult. Is it possible to add a live effect to a picture without having to draw over it using the program? I also drew smiling cheese that I'd like to add the gradient glow live effect to.
I want to ask if how to place a hand drawn picture inside the 4 view of the 3ds max development kit. I just want to create an animated character of my hand drawn picture. The sample figure of that is in the attachment file or on the link option.
I made a drawing by hand, now I want to use it in a laser machine... I need hairlines (in dutch haarlijnen) 0,5 thick and sharp? How do i transform this picture into a sharp document?
I'm trying to add a live effect to my file and I received an error when I tried to add a shatter effect (see attachment). Is this a problem with my copy of the program
I have added live effects (mainly liquid color, edited many times, don't know if the latter matters) to a bitmap image that additionally is heavily cropped beforehand (inside Designer).
Now every time I change the size or angle of that bitmap, it takes like two minutes to render that change
Is there a way to discard the cropped parts of the image (or something), in order to speed up that re-rendering -- but without losing my many layers (or at least the final stage, but including editability of it) of the liquid color effect?
I've been trying so hard to achieve the look of this picture. I am not sure how to get the outline like if it's hand drawn and also the shadow that goes on the outline. Not sure what tools I should use to get the outline and shadow look that way. I already tried several brushes but I haven't found anything like this one.
My work is generally calligraphy, it is all drawn by hand but would like the option to smooth it out on Photoshop if possible? I have attached a copy of the artwork,
I need to find out how to import/ convert a real hand drawn sketch into a .dwg or .dxf format so it can be used on a CNC machine to cut the pattern out of a 6mm sheet of aluminium
I have designed a logo for a company rebrand which they are really happy with; the only thing is that one aspect of the logo is a kind of 'swirl stroke' (URL... ) which I had hand-drawn and modified in Illustrator. They would like this aspect of the logo to appear less hand-drawn, and be as symmetric and clean as possible (ie. in no way hand-drawn).
How to simulate the following hand-drawn picture with Illustrator brushes and fills?
The situation would be... somebody would create a new vector drawing (i.e. made from a photo reference) with outlines and fills. With some easy steps he should be able to turn it into a vector drawing that resembles this style. It should be easy to do... maybe 2 or 3 steps. It could also work with add-ons or plug-ins or something (should work with CS4 upwards).
I designed a logo for some family friends, and the main part of the logo is hand-drawn, and it is made of multiple (a TON) of strokes. The company is getting t-shirts made, and the t-shirt company contacted me to get a "vector file with the fonts outlined." I know quite well how to do this on actual fonts, but how to outline a series of strokes.
I've created a hand drawn vector in Adobe Ideas and imported it into Illustrator CC. I've used a basic example below to test this method, but I want to be creating more complex hand drawn vectors in the near future. You can see the same line in the 3 images below. The third image shows a close up of the line where it's surrounded by 2 paths. Any way that I can merge the 2 paths in the third image into 1 path?
I have a logo comprised of hand-drawn letters that exist as outlined vectors in my .ai file. I am trying to find out if there is an easy way to make each letter a bit “thinner”. I have been achieving this for digital purposes by adding a stroke to each letter that matches the color of the background it will be used on. This workaround has been effective in getting the look I want but becomes problematic when preparing files for printed applications (t-shirts, stickers, etc.)
Is there an easy way to somehow “thin-out” the letters equivalent to the amount of girth that the stroke appears to take off of each letter?
So I am basically a brand new user to ai-cs6 and have been working on a project for a friend. I've drawn up the basic components of the logo she wants, all separate individual pieces. My intention is/was to trace in each piece, and scale, rotate, and clean them up according to how the final piece should look. Where I'm running into trouble is that the sketches are not point perfect, meaning there's some shading in the hand drawn, and the lines are rough in areas. I'm trying to avoid redrawing the pieces because we both are really happy with where they're at.
What I'd like to do with ai-cs6. How to trace very simply a one line vector of the outline of the image. So instead of creating a piece that has stroke straight from the scanned in artwork, I get a single line, with multiple points, that flows the simple shape of the piece. From there it seems it would be pretty simple to just increase the stroke weight and modify the style of line to make it look how we would like. except that since the sketch has some rough line sections ai-cs6 is adding either a lot of detail and making it look pretty rough, or it's missing entire sections and leaving them blank.
I know that I can animate using basics animation feature un Xara. Any way to create an animation showing every line drawn. Like in this exemple : [URL] I could record xara using screencast software but maybe there is a way to do it in automaticaly in Xara one the drawing have been made or maybe a software in wich I can import svg file to animate the lines.
It seems a Live Copy change made on the page holding the original Live Copy will change all copies on all pages but not in reverse. If I change the copy of the Live Copy on Page 2, only the page 2 object changes (local change) but if I change the original Live Copy or any other copies of it located on Page 1, then all copies on all pages change (global change.)
Not a problem, just trying to understand. If I want to change all Live Copies of an object on all pages of a document then must be be done from the page of the original Live Copy?
I've created a Live Copy set which I want to clone but have that cloned set not be associated with the originals (i.e. end up with 2 distinct editable sets). Is this possible?
When I select the live effect tool the "new" button is greyed out and there's no live effects list. How do I get to the default effects that come with Xara? I'm using Xara Designer Pro 7.
I'm a Model Railroader, as the screen name implies. "RRArtist" RailRoad Artist. Anyway, I have a MoPar garage, planned, I have this 3D model, built, I'm merely working on a sign, that is based off I think the 1950's.....This sign, will depict my interests in MoPar, a "Hemi", and the classy girls used back in the day, as part of the sign, AND will be lighted......SO, in 1/87th to the foot scale (Pretty small) its nearly impossible to get a "Hemi" motor, and be able to see that it is a Hemi! SO, my plan, is to take a 1:25th scale Hemi motor, and mount it to a sign pole, that's a pipe, to carry wires for lighting. Then UNDER this sign, will be a girl, that looks as tho, she is holding up a sign that says "Hemi" in the old "MoPar" signage.....UNDER her will be this Hemi Motor.....BUT the lighting is the fun part as the "lamp shades. will be CHROMED Hemi Valve Covers.....With the motor itself, painted orange, with black valve covers.....
Now this girl on the sign, is the issue.............. The girl is actually a blonde.....(don't ask LOL) I need to change her hair color... to red! Problem is? The clothing shes wearing, a short skirt, or short shorts, that are also...........RED.... so, it leaves way to much "red" for the sign......Looks good as is, don't get me wrong, BUT, if I can replace her blonde hair with red hair, to match the "looks" of the image, to be "believable" is GREAT, BUT I want to remove the red from her clothing, and make it Hemi Orange.......... trimmed in black with the silverish looks it already has, blended into the red as you will see...
This whole project is going on a display I'm adding to my layout for looks for when I run trains and to show my other interest.......... old MoPar muscle cars that were Hemi with a garage to repair them, from back in the day......Trying to make all the colors fall into place is my issue!
I finally downloaded Designer Pro 9 and installed the 64-bit version and, to my horror, realized it does not support Photoshop plugins. So I uninstalled the 64-bit version and installed the 32-bit version.
But now I find that the live-effects tool seems to be missing from the 32-bit version too!
I had thought the 64-bit version might be a bit more stable, but the old one was pretty stable. So now I'm wondering if I should plunk down money for the new version.
I'm pretty happy with the previous version, which oddly enough is called Xara Designer Pro X (go figure). So I'm going to ask for a possibly politically incorrect and certainly unvarnished opinion: How much of an improvement is the new version over the old?
I use it mostly for making graphics for websites or for making posters, leaflets, and such. I do not use it for website design.
I need to do an art project for school, and I want to make the Windows logo, but I suck. So I wanted to use a picture of it and change it to look like it was drawn by hand.
Say i have filled an area with Gradient fill and i open up the Gradient editor to refine the gradient, i realize that i cannot 'live' preview how the tuning affects the gradient in the object.
This can be achieve in Illustrator CS2 from gradient palette. i was wondering can it be done in Photoshop Cs2 with any shortcut or so?
(i was thinking any other way to achieve that without using Gradient overlay , Layer style? because i want to create several objects with differnt Gradients on the same layer)
Else, are there any external plugin/script to achive that?
---
Secondly, is there any command to align anchor points in PS? like align them vertically or something, i notice there is no paths palette in Ps( where are the commands to manage anchor points located at)?
As I'm trying to learn more of my new programs, I finally came across a tutorial that covered the Live Effects. However, after I've open and created an object (star)(that's another story), I go to the Live Effects button (per the tutorial) but nothing opens. Left click, right click, nothing brings anything up.
Also, in the tutorial it started by drawing the star object...click the icon draw a star, and I get a 6-sided filled object. No star to be found. The oval and rectangular objects draw fine. But no star obect.
I'm at the point where I don't know what should or shouldn't be somewhere or if something is or isn't working. I understand that the Live Effects can be pointed to an external folder where 3rd-party plugins should go, but I was also getting the feeling that something came with the program install (per the tutorial). I've gotten used to things not working in these Xara and Magix programs I purchased, so unlike my first couple of posts, the anger and frustration are being left out.
I'm intermediate (at best) with Illustrator. I'm using CS6 on a 2009 iMac. How to make Illustrator ignore stroke weight/cap/join settings when I'm applying a live rotate/multiple copy effect on a group of paths? Currently, Illustrator sets the rotation point to the outermost part of my stroke (figuring in the strokes atrributes), but I only want it to calculate the from the path's structure: the coordinates of my designated anchor point.
Here's the top/right group of paths with a rotate/ 3 copies effect of 90 degrees. Looks problem-free at this view.
Here's that top/right group of paths with the addition of a reflect/ 1 copy effect of X-axis. Still no apparent problems.
But here's a close up of the misalignment of corner points. As shown, the Transform effect is based off the strokes attributes (the tip of its corner), not the actual location of the corner point.
It does not apply different cap/corner styles or stroke alignments; that only slightly nudges the pivot point to the center.
Plus, this one point stroke is somewhat arbitrary. I only set it so in order to see my dynamic effects.
Tweaking the vertical/horizontal moves effects of the rotated/copied elements won't support because this art will later undergo lots of alteration, mostly changes in stroke weight (maybe even variable stroke width).
I need the skeleton of my structure to snap together precisely.
Any solution, no matter how roundabout, would save this project!
