View 1 RepliesIs there any way to have Photoshop CS5 automatically open files at startup? I have 3 files that I use as "templates", and it would be nice if they launched along with the program.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFile-> Open is the only way I can open files with 64-bit.When I clicking icons or right click-> Open With they only open with the 32-bit version. (Even though I've set the default program to 64-bit)
I'm able to open 64 bit by shortcut and it runs very well, about 10 times faster loading time and extremely smoothly for everything I do.
Here is my system info:
Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 Intel Core i5-3330 @ 3.0 GHz (3.2 Turbo) (2nd Generation i5 processor) 8 GB Ram 1600 Mhz (800 MHz for each 4 GB stick) (1GB shared memory for onboard graphics, 6.94GB useable) Gigabyte GA-B75M-HD3 Motherboard
I like to edit my images in Photoshop. why after I upload raw files into LR and using photoshop as external editor, the file opens but not in the PS (photoshop) raw processor. I have to work around this by first finding the image in windows explorer and dragging this file into PS. Shouldn’t the file open automatically in the PS raw processor ?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just did a reformat, and I used to be able to open DNG's in ACR just by double clicking them, but I can't figure out what setting that was. It was nice to avoid having to right click and select Open in Camera Raw, and just press enter.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been away for a few months and now, when I go to open a RAW image in CS6, it tries to default to Photoshop, then opens in Camera RAW. This is something new. How do I get RAW images to open automatically in ACR (Adobe Camera Raw)? They did before (two months ago). They do not now. I can, of course, right click and go to the dropdown menu and tell it to open in RAW but that is an extra, unnecessary step. There's a saying..."It's not a bug, it's a feature." No, this seems to be a bug. What happened?

View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently Photoshop CS6 has started automatically opening up to a certain photo every time I launch it. I'd like to stop this behavior.
I am on a MacPro running Mt. Lion, all sw is up to date.
When I open an image by double clicking on the file name, or by right-click > open in > photoshop, immediately up pops an image saying "Some Clipping May Occur" or the print dialogue in some cases.
But, if I drag the file into PS and drop it, it does not try to print it. So it seems to be something about actually "opening" a file that makes it want to print. I tried changing the file association to another program then back, but it didn't work. I'm using WinXP
I have a very large PDF that I need to open in Photoshop (It is a template image). The size of the image is 125.9843" x 91.5354".
However, when I open in Photoshop the image is automatically resized to about 106" x 79". I have tried to manually input the dimensions upon opening the file, however, when I open the file and check "Image Size" the dimensions are 106" x 79" again.
I can open the image in Illustrator at the correct dimensions automatically, and the PDF file itself is at the correct dimensions.
[I am using Photoshop CS5.1]
I have loads of dwgs made by a former employee at another site that have our company logo in the tile block. I need to replace the company logo with a new one. If it were not made from a dwt, I could change the .dwg file and just reinsert the block and let it redefine the block, done. But since all of the text in each drawing was input using a template, I cannot do this without losing all of that data. We are not permitted to explode the title block, delete the old logo & add a new one as the drawing format needs to remain as one entity. Is there a way to automatically update these dwgs without re-entering all of the title/revision block text on every drawing?
View 2 Replies View RelatedFollowing previous LR upgrades (3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5 and 3.6), old files were automatically removed from the Program Files folder. However, I just upgrades from 3.6 to 4.0 and notice that the old files are still on my hard drive in the 3.6 folder. Do I need to keep these files or can I UNINSTALL LR 3.6?

Is there some way that I can tell PS to just always assign a working profile so I don't always have to go through that dialoge box?

View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen opening an image in Photoshop CS6, in order to make the best use of the available screen area for viewing my photos, I have to either press the 'Fit Screen' option, at the top, or double-click the Hand Tool. Why doesn't the image fully fit in the available screen area automatically, when first opening? Is there a reason for images to open by default with empty space surrounding it, or is it an oversight by Adobe, in how the application works?

View 4 Replies View RelatedBeen trying to save files that are processed from Camera raw to tiff in CS 5 . The pop up window shows a different folder from where the just processed file was located. The preferences 'save file options is set(checked) 'Save as to orginal folder' Not sure what to do . After further tries I noted that the ' save as' dialogue indicates the saved folder is 'my documents' . This only occurs with files saved a Tiff or PSD . When a jpeg file is opened and then saved it is saved in the folder it originated from. Is this perhaps a windows 7 setup issue?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to automatically slice a very large TIFF file (800 MB) into 28 equally-sized rectangles using Actions (it is a scanned image of 28 scientific slides and reducing the resolution is not an option). My goal is to start with the TIFF file and end up with a folder that contains 28 separate files. I'll do this on many such TIFF files, so it needs to be coded into an action.
So far I have an action that creates guides in a grid pattern and then converts the guides to 28 individual rectangular user slices that together cover the entire screen. Unfortunately the file is far too large to use with the "Save for Web & Devices" tool and I also can't export to TIFF from that tool. So I made an action that individually selects each slice (using the slice select tool), copies it, creates a new file, pastes the image, saves it as a flattened, non-compressed TIFF into a new folder, then closes the file. When I try to run this I get the following error:
The command "Select" is not currently available
-- Continue -- -- Stop --
If I press Continue the action is not carried out. If I press Stop and select the slice manually there is no problem (but then my action will not be fully automated). The image is in 8-bit RGB mode, and I've also tried converting the locked Background layer into a standard layer. I don't see any reason why the select command shouldn't be available! There is only one layer and there are user slices available for selection. I tried separating the slicing and select/import jobs into 2 different actions but it still didn't work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI get 3rd party zip files from our consultants.
They contain the consultant's DWG, plus our office's initial plans in DWG, logos, fonts, etc.
I used to be able to simply Extract the zipped file and then open up the main DWG. Then the main DWG and all associated XREFs would open smoothly. Now, when I open the consultant DWG, none of the XRefs are opening and being placed automatically, and I can only see the consultant's DWG, which looks like a bunch of blips because there's no context.
How I can get things back to normal? One click that will automatically open and re-associate/re-attach all the XREFs needed? I tried attaching a zip file as an example but it exceeds the maximum allowed
take jpg + RAW pics with my DSLR, for the most part the jpgs come out fine but now and again I like to tinker with the RAW's. So I like to keep both incase I'm inclined to tinker in the future.
To keep my photo catalogue looking neat and tidy I stack the jpg and RAW so only the single image shows. I can obviously select both images and the select stack, or I can select a whole load of images and select auto stack which then suggests stacks based on photo likeness. This is OK sometimes, but often many images are of the same subject and I don't want 10 stacked, just the 2 same files in jpg + RAW. Is there a way to automatically stack the same file number jpg + RAW?
Just started elements up and all my files appeared, most of which i didnt want to open.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing that suddenly stopped synching one of the alignments (the others synch fine) and the two surfaces that are referenced. They are all data referenced but require me to open the drawing and manually synch the entities each time. This drawings was functioning perfectly until this began just recenlty. I've searched the forums but can't find anything. I'm assuming maybe some system variable is wacky but that doesn't explain why the other alignments sync just fine.
