I had to re download PDN a little while back, when i did, i made it my default image viewer. as soon as i set this, now every time i download an image, it automatically opens PDN, slowing down my download time, and just generally difficult. How to turn this off?
View 13 RepliesI have been away for a few months and now, when I go to open a RAW image in CS6, it tries to default to Photoshop, then opens in Camera RAW. This is something new. How do I get RAW images to open automatically in ACR (Adobe Camera Raw)? They did before (two months ago). They do not now. I can, of course, right click and go to the dropdown menu and tell it to open in RAW but that is an extra, unnecessary step. There's a saying..."It's not a bug, it's a feature." No, this seems to be a bug. What happened?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a very large PDF that I need to open in Photoshop (It is a template image). The size of the image is 125.9843" x 91.5354".
However, when I open in Photoshop the image is automatically resized to about 106" x 79". I have tried to manually input the dimensions upon opening the file, however, when I open the file and check "Image Size" the dimensions are 106" x 79" again.
I can open the image in Illustrator at the correct dimensions automatically, and the PDF file itself is at the correct dimensions.
[I am using Photoshop CS5.1]
When opening an image in Photoshop CS6, in order to make the best use of the available screen area for viewing my photos, I have to either press the 'Fit Screen' option, at the top, or double-click the Hand Tool. Why doesn't the image fully fit in the available screen area automatically, when first opening? Is there a reason for images to open by default with empty space surrounding it, or is it an oversight by Adobe, in how the application works?

(this is my workaround)
however since i add images , I sometime forget to add those image names to the batch file, and they do not load.
so is there a way to add to paint.net the option to automatically load upon start the " last open images"
ie. the last images that were open before the program exited ?
I manage a website and I have to resize bundles of images frequently. I find it a problem in Paint Shop Pro X5 that every time I resize an image it shows as a tiny thumbnail. This causes me to go to the 'view' toolbar and then from the dropdown box have to click 'zoom to 100%'
How do I format PSP X5 to automatically show resized images at 100%?
I used Adobe application manager to download a trial version of photoshop cs6, but I need to install it at another time. Adobe application manager instead installs photoshop immediately.

But like I said the image will only open using paint.net and I'm guessing that if I put it on a flash drive as it is now, it will still ask for paint.net to open where ever I take it.So how do I change it to a jpeg or something else where it will open on it's own and be able to be printed somewhere without paint.net?

I had previously done work with vectoring and perhaps I set something that in now locked. I did reset all preferences, but am still having this problem. I don't have this problem in X3.

View 1 Replies View RelatedGIMP won't recognize images I downloaded using Nikon Transfer. They are in the Pictures library and a Nikon Transfer file shows with everything else when I click File Open, but I can't bring them up to work on in a normal way. I was able to physically move one of the images, listed as DSC, from Nikon Transfer to the Gimp window and modify it normally, but the image was very tiny in a full-screen Gimp window, (which lately I can't permanently get back to the normal size). Saved the image as xcf and jpg and placed in a new file, but still can't work on it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIf I work in Edit mode all the time I can open as many pictures as I like from the Organizer and have them all open at the same time. If I return to the Organizer and open another image, the ones already open are not affected. However if I go to the Manager tab (which only seems to be the Organizer on a separate page) to select an image I have to close any and all items already open in the editor. Surely this cannot be intended behaviour. In X3 it was possible to open images in the Organizer which was on a separate page and then return to it and open others without the original ones closing so why can't we do this in X4? The Manager does allow multiple images to be selected and opened at the same time but these are still closed if at any time you return to the Manager.
Update: I have now read a few posts about this problem and indeed it is not possible to switch between Edit and Manage modes without closing any images you have open for editing. The general feeling seems to be that this is not a problem as the Organizer (File manager) is available in Edit mode anyway so there is no need to go to the Manage tab. However I would disagree with this as some of my folders contain large numbers of images and it is much easier to browse through them using Manager in thumbnail mode as you can see far more images at once than with the Organizer in Edit mode. Also I find that Organizer gets in the way in Edit mode and would much prefer to switch back and forth to the Manager as was possible in X3.
Even if this problem does not affect everyone it is still difficult to understand why Corel would insist that images in the Editor are closed before switching to Manage mode. I cannot personally think of one reason why this would be preferable. Additionally the Organizer in Edit mode does not appear to have any way of resizing the thumbnails to optimize the number viewable at any one time.
I have a problem receiving or downloading png files. Once downloaded to my computer they always show a white background. Where I might look to see if I screwed up a setting somewhere? If i right click to copy and paste a png file into psp pro x4 itself it has a black background .. if i right click save as ... then save as the png file it has a white background. If a friend takes that same file and saves it as a psd file it opens perfectly with the transparent background.

Then I go to the tab "Do more".From here I can download frames, patterns, preset shapes etc. However, I cannot find the downloaded content after installing. I have restarted PSP afterwards, but to no avail. I would try to uninstall and reinstall the packages, but I can't find a way how to do it.
I am using Windows 8 64bit, and the latest update for PSPx5.
I am having trouble getting my tubes to show up in the Tube tool drop down box. If they are downloaded with the .tub extension they show fine. But if the need to be converted they don't work. I've tried 2 different converter programs and couldn't get them to work.
I used PSP5 a long time ago and used a converter that worked great. Now can't seem to get anything to get my downloaded tubes to register in my Tube Tool .
I've just recently purchased PSP X4 since they touted that it was much faster loading and more stable (X3 was horrible about crashing). I continue to be amazed at how they (Corel) can just keep digging a hole instead of actually improving this product. I can see why they continue to lose market share.
1) I can no longer open mulitple images at the same time for side-by-side comparison. The work area now will only accommodate 1 open file at a time.
2) I miss not having the file size included in the data box that appears when you hold the cursor over a thumbnail. It was always handy when downsizing (resizing) photos for posting.
3) It is a pain now to have to go back and forth from the "EDIT" tab to the "MANAGE" tab to view full-sized photos (without having to open one at a time). They really screwed the pooch in X2 or X3 (can't remember) when they got rid of the old Organizer format. It was soooo easy to navigate; you had a screen full of thumbnails, you saw what you wanted and clicked it open....just too easy I guess!!! I was hoping they would go back to it for this version. I know in other forums, this change really rankled a lot of users. They just seem to bounce around trying different things. I wonder who the h*ll they use to test this stuff in-house.
I do like the faster speed, but don't know if I'll go for any more versions after this or not (been here since V.7 when JASC owned it). Big mistake selling if off to Corel. I've just about had it and there is some decent up and coming competition out there nowdays.
I just did a reformat, and I used to be able to open DNG's in ACR just by double clicking them, but I can't figure out what setting that was. It was nice to avoid having to right click and select Open in Camera Raw, and just press enter.
