I upload my customer proofs with LR to my website for easy viewing. I would estimate that I loose 25% of potential orders due to theft. How can I protect the images on my website from being downloaded or copied?
View 4 RepliesI have recently moved my entire Lightroom catalogue along with the images to a new PC. I ensured all the paths were identical, and everything seemed to have gone smoothly except that now, when I import, Lightroom cannot correctly identify which images are already in the catalogue and will try to import duplicates.
For example, with the root image folder selected in the import dialogue, Lightroom will find the following: With "All Photos" selected, Lightroom identifies 13165 photos to import (this is what I would expect - my entire library plus a few new images).With "New Photos" selected, Lightroom finds 11537 photos - only slightly fewer than the entire library.With both "New Photos" and "Don't Import Suspected Duplicates" selected, Lightroom will find 5190 photos - just under half the entire library.The actual number of new photos is around 100.
As a test, I went ahead and imported one of the duplicated photos. The result was two identical images side by side in the library, both pointing at the same file (clicking "Show in Explorer" on each confirms this). The newly imported image has no develop history, although it still retains the develop settings from the xmp file.
I'm running Lightroom 3.5 on Windows 7 Home Premium. The catalog was originally created on a PC running Windows 7 Professional. I have successfully transferred the catalog previously with no issues and I'm not aware of having done anything differently this time.
I have photo store and I often shoot weddings but I have "problems" with my customers.Thy want to put all pictures on CD Discs to watch the pictures on computer and to make order for enlarging.I resize the picture but they complains about small looking size of the pictures.They complain even if I put almost invisible watermark.I have try with A4 contact sheets but still complains.
how I can put the pictures on CD but somehow to protect them from enlarging on photo paper.Is any program available to protect the pictures from enlarging.For example picture looks fine of computer screen but when it's printed on photo paper watermark to appear, or I ask too much.
I am in the process of completing my Photographic website and need to make thumbnail and larger sizes for the the site. The site will have approximately 100 images on it. Clicking the thumbnails will connect to the larger images. How do I make both sizes in PS CS? Perhaps their is a generator that you would recommend for Mac 10.2?

This logo is composed by two things: the first one is the picture of the logo itself, than the second is the text part (which is not the hardest thing to do).
What I'm trying to do is, once have drown the "subject" (a light blue drop, in my case), to copy and paste it in order to have other four copies of the same drop, but moved and rotated to create something like a circle..
You can find the original logo I created attached. But I'm not really satisfied with it (this is also why I'm writing here!) =)
I'd like to re-create it and put the drops as in the attached logo....
I had to re download PDN a little while back, when i did, i made it my default image viewer. as soon as i set this, now every time i download an image, it automatically opens PDN, slowing down my download time, and just generally difficult. How to turn this off?
View 13 Replies View RelatedGIMP won't recognize images I downloaded using Nikon Transfer. They are in the Pictures library and a Nikon Transfer file shows with everything else when I click File Open, but I can't bring them up to work on in a normal way. I was able to physically move one of the images, listed as DSC, from Nikon Transfer to the Gimp window and modify it normally, but the image was very tiny in a full-screen Gimp window, (which lately I can't permanently get back to the normal size). Saved the image as xcf and jpg and placed in a new file, but still can't work on it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI do a lot of watermarking for the images on my website an created an action for that. What I did:
place water mark select both layers align left and bottom move the watermark layer up and to the right with the arrow keys (padding from the side of the picture)
Before I apply this action to my images I make them all 930 pixels in width with the original ration, so the height varies. When I apply the action to my images, on some of the images the watermark shows up just fine (like I created the action) but on some of them the watermark shows up very small or to large.
when i create images in Xara they look very clear and crisp but once exported and appear on the website they lose their clarity and sharpness.
Which brings me to the question.. what is the best way to export images for a website? Are there advanced settings that I may use to improve the images appearance on the website.

I tried editing some photos in basic picassa and that worked well and was able to upload photos on fb and my blog. I then tried uploading some old photos (edited in photoshop) and they are getting uploaded. So I am sure this is a recent problem with photoshop.
I am making a DVD of a wedding and as part of a slide show of stills I want to download about 10 at a time and then display them 1 screen shot at a time .They are on a website that the groom raised for the occasion. They are around 2.34 MB jpegs each so they are small .I have X5 Ultimate and Paint Shop Pro X.

After a few minutes the progress bar reaches the end, and Lightroom says some files were not imported and lists allt he files that should have imported without importing anything.Ive tried importing from memory card, copied the files to my hard drive and tried the import from there also, all with the same result.Files are NEFF Nikon files.

I have a website that I recently updated with a new logo created on Corel Draw X4 and then edited using Photo Paint X4. I resampled the image at 72 dpi and save as a jpg.
Once saved I loaded it to my Microsoft Windows Live Small Business account for upload to my website. It was a straight forward process. However, when viewing the website, I noticed that while the logo was visible using FireFox browser, it was not visible using the Explorer browser.
My first thought was that it must be a setting in the browser, but the image also failed to render when viewing the website through my smart phone browser.
This brought to mind that I had had this problem before when trying to upload an older logo design in the same manner. Some browsers just would not load the image.
So, I had this crazy thought that it may have something to do with Corel and the way it saved jpg images. So, I opened the jpg using the old Microsoft Paint program and without making any changes to it, I saved it from there. After that the image loads on the website with all the browsers that wouldn't work before.
how to blur the images for a client website..What I have done is to take 2 images and put them alongside each other, but I need to blur the area where they join to make the join look less severe.Also, I need to blur the complete outer edge of the whole image as well.

I was able to upload my images, but then there was no instruction/direction on what to do next. Everything I clicked just brought me somewhere else. View 3 Replies View RelatedHave noticed a strange behavior lately with LR 5 when I am making small adjustments in the Basic panel. The problem seems to happen when I am moving through the images too fast. If I make some adjustments to an image and then hit the arrow key to go to the next image, all of the previous adjustments are copied over. I typically use the Previous button for a lot of my editing but LR does this on it's own. I then need to Reset the photo to default and start over. Not a huge annoyance until it gets to the point where you need to re-edit some photos and it copies over everything. This happened several times to me today. I had an event fully edited but decided there were a few photos that needed minor adjustments. As I was quickly scrolling through making adjustments where needed, I would notice that LR would drastically change the settings to match the previous photo. This completely slowed me down and I had to re-edit so many photos. In some cases it would even copy over the cropping I had done. I hate to say but I am not very impressed with this version of LR so far. Feels rushed and not polished. I understand that each version has it quirks and issues but so many for an established program. Tempted to go back to 4. Slow and unusable healing brush and now this annoyance are two major hits for me.

1. Building the slide show exactly as website creator's help topics;
2. Using a jquery plugin like this one: URL....
3. Using URl.... and copying original DHTML & Javascripts.
With all the above the slideshow does not show in browser preview or in website creator's build in preview.
i have purchased and downloaded presets from pretty presets and followed every instruction i can find online on how to get your presets to come up in the adjustment brush section but nothing at all is working, my PC automatically unzips the files and there is no install option available, i dont know what else i can try as i have tried everything i can find, i have also uninstalled lightroom 4 and then reinstalled it but nothing will get them into the adjustment brush area, i know all about how to open the lightroom folders through the preference section and i have tried to get them to show up by putting them into the local adjustments folder as well as the develop presets folder but neither work
View 2 Replies View RelatedIve been using lightroom for some time now and when I connect my cf card to the card reader lightroom starts and I select "import". I went to do the same as usual and it started up and I clicked import, the files started to download so I walked away. I came back an hour later and LR had frozen after the first few pictures. I gave it some time but then decided to cntrl alt dlt and end the task and tried to start over. It downloaded all of the images but they are not visible in LR. I can see all my previously downloaded images but not the new files. I can see the files and view them through my hard drive using the windows photo gallery viewer. I have checked for updates and my computer and LR are up to date, I also tried reinstalling LR and there is the same issue.
View 7 Replies View RelatedAfter importing into LR3, I get an error message that says: Some import operations were not performed. The following files could not be copied to the backup location.
Then there is a list of images (usually all of the photos imported). This didn't always happen and I can't pinpoint exactly when it started. My LR catalog and backups are stored on an EHD.
I am currently saving all of my metadata to files (just to be sure) and backing up my catalog so I can upgrade to LR5 (already purchased) but want to be sure my catalog is good before I do that.I've tried everything I know - checking my backup location and drive in LR window match up.
Normally I import as RAW, and then convert to DNG; today is first time that I've Imported/Copied directly to DNG.
Using LR5, I "Copy to DNG" a bunch of images from my CF Card, that I shot over the weekend. In Grid view, under the Histogram, I noticed the icon "Originals without Smart Previews" had a 1, "Originals + Smart Previews" had a 0, "Smart Previews" has a 0, and "Missing" also has a 1 next to it. Admittedly, I forgot to check the "Build Smart Preview" check box, so I Library -> Previews -> Build Smart Previews. After the process finished, I now have "Originals without Smart Previews" - 0, "Originals + Smart Previews" - 1, "Smart Previews" has a 0, and "Missing" - 1. When I go into Develop module, under the Histogram I also see "[!] Photo is Missing". When I Right-Click and select "Show in Finder" it takes me straight to the original, in the correct folder location that I Copied/Imported into. I've also done "Find All Missing Photos" and re-synchronized the folder. Nothing has changed.
I just cloned my hard disk (named PI) to a new one named TAU. Now they both contain my enormous catalog of 800 GB of Lightroom catalog and files.
I removed my initial hard disk PI and put it in a safe location (just saying this so you know I have a backup)
I start Lightroom 5 and open the ircat file on TAU but all the pictures have an ! meaning they are missing (but the pictures are all there). How do I get Lightroom to recognize the new location?
In my catalog settings the path correctly points to the new hard drive and the folder where the photos and catalog are located, however within the application there is no way to navigate among the files and folders of my collection as there was before.
If I do an import from my memory card, choose my external hard drive as a second location for the import, and then go into my catalog and delete the bad photos, is there any quick way to also remove those files from the backup on the external hard drive? I've got a ton of wasted space on my external HD due to things that I've deleted and don't know of any simple way to get rid of them short of formatting the drive and doing another export, which takes a long time and isn't something I want to do all that often.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a procedural way to download my photos to LR3 instead of Image Capture on my iMAC? I had Apple Store Geniuses fix the Safe Mode problem (which i posted in a different thread) so when I got home and tried to download my photos from the CF card reader it showed up in the Image Capture screen but not in LR3. I had the CF card reader attached to the computer's USB port before turning on the computer.
Should I have turned on the computer first and then open LR3 before connecting the card reader? My guess is that because LR3 was not opened first, the downloading went somewhere else.
I used Adobe lens profile creator to download a lens profile. I cannot find the file. It is not in the standard folder for lens profiles. Where does lens profile creator downloads the lcp file? It says local disk?
