When downloading photos from I photo I mistakingly downloaded every image on my hard drive including numbers, symbols and things which I never saw before. How do I delete those images so that when I use illustrator I see only my photographs? There must be thousands of unwanted images.
View 5 RepliesInstead of "removing" a folder with thousands of photos I went in to Windows Explorer deleted the catalog, the locked file and a few other folders. However, when I try to delete the folder with all the thousands of previews folders in it I get a message telling me that I can't delete them because they are being used by another program. I don't have Lightroom open when I try to do this so my question is: how can I simply delete those folders from my hard drive?
Do I have to un-install Lightroom to do this? Hopefully not.
Is there a way to delete images from the Lightroom Library module and also have it delete the corresponding file in the backup folder?
View 2 Replies View Relatedfind a way to delete succesfuly unused images from the library and can find no way to do this.Is this really the case? if so it needs to be addressed immediately. Its very common to try many images in this sort of composition and the auto renamimg protocol makes it virtually impossible to weed out unused images at publish time.

I have to now piece all of these images together. There are about 1,800 images, so doing this by hand is a real pain (I actually have already done about 1/8th of the work, and it took 1.5 hours so far). So here's my question: is there a way in photoshop to automate this.
I know about droplets and batch things, etc. But I don't know how to make 'merge two images, with the second directly placed directly below the first in the new image.' If I knew how to do this, I could create ~60 columns with everything lined up.

I want to find a way to make a central locaton for thousands of images that I can tag to make them easy to find. For strictly this purpose and not editing, what is the difference between doing this in Lightroom vs. Bridge? It seems like they do the sam thing? I was also considering iPhoto for this purpose, how these programs differ for this purpose?

I have autocad 2013 and I used to have the material library downloaded and working fine. I recently installed revit 2014 and deleted all 2013 material library and downloaded the 2014 that came with Revit.
However, now autocad gives me an error saying the material library is not installed. Is there anyway to remap it so that it reads the 2014 library? I would rather not download the 2013 library if I don't have to, I use windows on a mac and my bootcamp partition is very tiny.
I downloaded an atn action from the web and now cannot get rid of in Photoshop. I looked for it in finder and can't find it. Do I need to uninstall then reinstall Photoshop to get rid of it?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there a procedural way to download my photos to LR3 instead of Image Capture on my iMAC? I had Apple Store Geniuses fix the Safe Mode problem (which i posted in a different thread) so when I got home and tried to download my photos from the CF card reader it showed up in the Image Capture screen but not in LR3. I had the CF card reader attached to the computer's USB port before turning on the computer.
Should I have turned on the computer first and then open LR3 before connecting the card reader? My guess is that because LR3 was not opened first, the downloading went somewhere else.
When I right click downloaded brushes the options Duplicate Brush and Delete brush are greyed out and when I click Edit Brush I can't change anything. That is a problem because from the more than two hundred brushes I have right now I only need/like about 20 or 30. Those options are available only in brushes I created myself, by the way.

View 13 Replies View RelatedGIMP won't recognize images I downloaded using Nikon Transfer. They are in the Pictures library and a Nikon Transfer file shows with everything else when I click File Open, but I can't bring them up to work on in a normal way. I was able to physically move one of the images, listed as DSC, from Nikon Transfer to the Gimp window and modify it normally, but the image was very tiny in a full-screen Gimp window, (which lately I can't permanently get back to the normal size). Saved the image as xcf and jpg and placed in a new file, but still can't work on it.
