I want to find a way to make a central locaton for thousands of images that I can tag to make them easy to find. For strictly this purpose and not editing, what is the difference between doing this in Lightroom vs. Bridge? It seems like they do the sam thing? I was also considering iPhoto for this purpose, how these programs differ for this purpose?
View 5 RepliesIn Linux the export location is /var/www/html/WiretapCental/export. The same path doesn't exist in OSX, not that I can find. The browser just shows me /localhost/Wiretapcentral/export

When downloading photos from I photo I mistakingly downloaded every image on my hard drive including numbers, symbols and things which I never saw before. How do I delete those images so that when I use illustrator I see only my photographs? There must be thousands of unwanted images.

View 4 Replies View RelatedInstead of "removing" a folder with thousands of photos I went in to Windows Explorer deleted the catalog, the locked file and a few other folders. However, when I try to delete the folder with all the thousands of previews folders in it I get a message telling me that I can't delete them because they are being used by another program. I don't have Lightroom open when I try to do this so my question is: how can I simply delete those folders from my hard drive?
Do I have to un-install Lightroom to do this? Hopefully not.
by mistake I imported (moved) several AVI and MPEG videos into a specific folder that I inteded to use as backup for one of my relatives.
Problem is that my original folders, where I stored these videos, along with specific names regarding genre and/or subject were left intact, with nothing inside them.
I am trying to find a way to "revert" the import process and send those files back to where they belong.
I have created a hodge podge of directories with images in various locations. I want to re-organize all my images into the single location and organization in a logical directory structure. Now for my question. Would I be better off moving all my files into the new directory structure then create a new master catalog then import into the new catalog? I am wanting to develop and use import templates to better organize and document my images... btw, I am not opposed to upgrading v3 if this will make things easier... just haven't had a need as yet.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am a novice with PSLR 2.When I make adjustments to images in develop ie, exposure, color etc. the changes show in LR but not when I display them on my Apple TV from my "photo file". I save the changes to disc but this does not work, they show unadjusted in the "photo file". When I edit the image in PS Elements and save they display corrected on Apple TV.

That way, I email the little ones for clients to peruse, and then send the full-res after they agree to buy. I know I can set up two presets and do them separately, but thought I'd ask.

So I clicked the box to limit file size, and I chose 300k (for web), and it says "could not create a jpeg that met your limit".

If I use this:
button.LargeImage = new BitmapImage(new Uri(@"c:\folderA\folderB\image.png") );
it works just fine. But it relies on absolute syntax, which is daft since it forces the code to be installed in a specific directory (or the images).
I've tried
button.LargeImage = new BitmapImage(new Uri(@"images\image.png", UriKind.Relative) );
and
button.LargeImage = new BitmapImage(new Uri(@"images/image.png", UriKind.Relative) );
and I've tried placing the images subdirectory with the png file relative to the assembly, to the project source folder and even relative to AutoCAD itself - and in none of the cases do I get an image. I'd like the images subfolder to be relative to the compiled assembly.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIve started at a company where all of their parts and assemblies have all of the work planes, axis and points visible. Im getting bored of going view, object visibility, turn off all work features everytime i open a new model. Anything written that will turn off these features and only turn them back on when requested.
basically im looking for a shortcut, rather than opening every part and assembly and doing it manually.
I have an iLogic Form that I've created and implemented into our model template files. I am manually adding this Form to all existing files. It's a time consuming process of opening the files one by one and pasting in the same Form over and over.
Any way or program has created where it will take a Form opened in a model and paste that same Form into a selected group of files?
BTW I'm also having to do this to the Drawing Resources folder of Inventor IDW and DWG files as I have updated/modified our border design on the new templates. I want all of our existing drawing files to have the new border. So again I'm having to manually open each drawing file and paste in the Drawing Resources folder then clicking "Replace" any time it sees an existing name rather than click "New" as it would then give me duplicates of those names.
I have to update a block in literally thousands of cad files. I have the book "AutoCAD Secrets Every User Should Know About" and the author gives examples of this by using a Batch File, Script File, and then Lisp Routine. Any easier way to do the following:
Insert "Gennnotes=" (updating the block) into any drawing that has this block in the drawing already, if not Quit.
Typically to do this I would open the drawing "insert" "gennotes=", then cancel the command and save the drawing. I have a lot of subfolders that also hold drawings so the command would have to search through each subfolder for dwgs.
Like I mentioned above, I tried to use the Batch File/Script Method but my batch file failed. It could find the folder Autocad 2012 - English. For some reason it was not seeing the spaces in between. Not sure. Here's the batch file portion of the routine:

I have CS3 and use a 3800 for my work. Whenever I set an image to print the preview displaces the image to the left and up about 1 cm. no other application I have does this.
I am using windows XP on a dual core PC.
Every so often Revit asks me if I would like to Synchronize with central. What does this mean and is it important to do?

Please try purging the Central Cache Preferences to correct the situation." where "Central Cache Preferences" are located? I found in Bridge under Tools the "Cache" but It does not say anything about Central Cache Preferences.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue syncing to a central file over a vpn connection. I am able to vpn into a consultant's network and I am able to access the folder structure of the network by typing in an IP address into file explorer. I have mapped the network connection and I am able to consistently access the files. At the consultants office the files are located on NAS device and they access the device using the following nomenclature. \devicenamefolder. I access the same device with the following nomenclature. \ipaddressfolder. When I open the central file, the central file thinks that it has moved and is informing me to save the file as a new central file or a local file.
I am not a network guy but does this have something to do with the central file being saved with a unc path vs an ip address?? Is there a work around for this? Does the vpn need to be configured differently or does the consultant just need to save the central file by using the ip name?
My Architecture office is using Mac Pro's with OSX and Parallels to run Windows 7 and Revit 2011. We are having issues with getting everyone to be able to work synchronize to the Central File. If one workstation (workstation 1) intially creates the Central File, puts it on the server then creates a local from the Central File they have no issue when synchronizing to Central. However if another workstation (workstation 2) creates their own Local File it does not synchronize to central, it tries and an error of "File Failed to Save" pops up everytime.
The Central File location is the same on both workstations (ex. \psfFirmProjectsActive ProjectsProject# and nameConstruction DocumentsDrawingsCentral File Name}.
We have also turned off all antivirus and firewalls to elimnate that as an access issue.
how we may be able to get everyone working with Local Files, and Synchronizing to Central?
I'm testing out a Revit Server configuration with a local server on one site connected to a central sever at another site. So far the testing has gone fine but we've run into a snag. The public IP address at the site of the central server has changed because of a change in ISPs. Now I'm unable to figure out how to update the IP addres settings for the central server that the local server connects to..
I've tried running the install again but it won't run since the software is already installed. I've tried running a repair. I've tried logging into Revit Server Administrator but there is no option to change the IP address of the central server it connects to.
It would be really good to be able to use WTC from an iPad (I am lazy). The bad news is it uses flash so it wont work. Is there an HTML 5 version in the future?
