I am a novice with PSLR 2.When I make adjustments to images in develop ie, exposure, color etc. the changes show in LR but not when I display them on my Apple TV from my "photo file". I save the changes to disc but this does not work, they show unadjusted in the "photo file". When I edit the image in PS Elements and save they display corrected on Apple TV.
View 4 RepliesWe have a bunch of shots taken using natural light - the shots all have completely different exposure and white balance adjustments.
Now that the shots feel like they've been shot at the same time of day (and on the same day) we'd like to start adjusting the white balance accross multiple shots - but use the current white balance/exposure from each individual shot as the starting point - not reset the adjustments.
Kind of like baking the current settings or making adjustments on top of current adjustments - or make new adjustments relative to the current adjustments.
I have created a media pack application but need to find a way for users save some images to disc from within the application? The images are in a gallery and I want to avoid opening another browser window and using the R click > save image as.

How do I import these images and not loose the work I have doen to them?
I have recently purchased a new camera (Canon 600D) and am shooting in RAW+jpg.
I make many on-camera adjustments (exposure, creative effects etc) which apply to the JPG fine. Is there a way to apply these to the RAW image also (within LR) without manually changing all the settings using the 'develop' module? For example, can I right-click on a RAW image and select 'Apply camera settings' or something along those lines?
On a side note, is there a way to ask lightroom to simply use the JPG version rather than the RAW version (on an individual photo basis)? Lightroom as I currently have it set up uses teh JPG only as a preview.
Not sure if it is relevent but I am using the latest Lightroom 3.x on Vista.
I moved images from my harddrive to an external drive.
I opened Lightroom.
Noticed there was a question mark by the photo folder I needed.
I synchronized the folders. Nada.
I rememebered I moved the images (first line ^^)
I re-imported the images from the external drive into Lightroom.
These images (other than one that was marked previously with a blue label) look completely untouched - completely original files - even though I spent hours working on them.
I am glad the images weren't deleted BUT re-doing 600 images will be a MAJOR FAIL if I can't figure out how to import the images with the settings / developments I did beforehand.
Question: Why won't layer adjustments save?
Details:
I work for a music publisher that wants to make older publications available for download via their website.
I scan the sheet music and get a PDF as a result.
Some pages are too light; some need to be rotated a bit.
I open the PDF and export each page as a TIFF.
Then I open the TIFFs in Photoshop.
Rotating the image is no problem.
A Levels Adjustment Layer gives me darker blacks, higher contrast.
I save the TIFFs, then use Acrobat Professional 8.x to create a PDF from multiple files.
I combine the TIFFs, save the new file.
The rotation changes are there in the new PDF, but the level changes aren't.
If I open the TIFFs again, they look fine -- meaning that the Adjustment Layer is still present.
Next, I tried merging layers (there are just two: Background and the Adjustment Layer) and saving the TIFF again.
Close the file; reopen it in Photoshop.
One layer (Background) which seems to have no change from the pre-adjusted original.
I've tried saving in different formats (Photoshop PDF, JPEG, EPS, PSD) before and after merging or flattening.
The only thing that seems to work is the Photoshop PDF format. When I open that in Acrobat, the level adjustments are preserved.
But the resulting PDF is huge. To illustrate:
A 12-page folio typically contains only simple lineart (no photos) and text on page 1 and music (just a font, not an image) on pages 2-12. Sometimes there is an EPS barcode on the final page.
The PDF my scanner produces usually weighs in at 3MB.
The recombined PDF made of 12 Photoshop PDFs (TIFFs extracted from the original PDF, then adjusted in Photoshop and resaved) is typically 60+MB. Using Acrobat's PDF Optimizer gets the size down to 20MB or so.
But this is huge. These files should be around 1-2MB tops.
I have hundreds of pieces to scan, adjust, and prep for downloading.

Mac OS X 10.5.7
Photoshop CS3 Extended 10.0.1
My Videostudio is in Chinese(I hate it but no choice in HK shops), so sometime is hard for me to understand how to do this and that!
I see some topic said I can try to make a ISO first instead of using the burn function, I try to output the project to a videso and a m2t file come out, I getting confuse now, how can I make the ISO file, by using the create video file? or create a disc? I have different project all put in one disc, if I burn the ISO, still have the menu?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just purchased Elements 12 but can't save photos on my hdd that I edit. I use a macbook pro which I also recently purchased. Before the mac I was using a laptop with windows and ACDSee with no issues.
I can access and edit the photos from the hdd but cannot save them. I am using jpeg and tif files.
The message I get is that I can't save the file "because write access is not granted".
I have a pspmage that I can not make any adjustment on. I can make adjustments on others in the same folder with no problem.

However, I can not get the disc to run at all, it is not recognising the disc as having any content.
I'm trying to create a digital layout in PSCS version 8.0, and when I go to save the psd file (very early stages of the creation...its not very large yet) I get an error that says "Unable to save (file name) because of a disc error". I've never seen this before and am trying not to panic, but I'm on a deadline! LOL And am running behind as usual!
I am using an older mac, and I'm pretty dang maxed out on Gb...gotta clean up some files, but having a hard time finding a free dup file finder for macs...so I'm procrastinating, basically. Could the fact that I've got very little Gb available left have something to do with this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm thinking of moving all my pictures to an externa drive with usb3 (2,5", 5400), so I can use my laptop, and another computer with lightroom.
My first concern is if it's a good idea to keep the catalog on the drive, so that I have the same catalog when I use my second computer. Is there a risk with this and will this affect the speed using lightroom? If I keep the catalog local, can I then work work (rate, add keywords etc) with the pictures without my disc connected (when traveling)?
Will the work be much slower compared to multiple internal 7200 discs as on my stationary pc? I have a lot of photos (45000, DNG) and prefer to keep all om the same drive, (but using my laptop I will have more time to reduce)I have a Dell xps12 (touch), with windows8, 256 gb SSD and i7 with 8 gb ram.
i have some smart folders of my fav. pics. i want to export them to disc for my mobile devices the pics have different resolutions.
I want to resize them in %. I saw only the option in pixel.

I'm using LR4 and trying to export a .mov file. I have 4 files all taken the same day and two of the files export correctly and two give me this pop-up in the title. I have successfully played these videos as a quicktime movie on Windows Media Player before and after I received this message. I am exporting using H.264 at max quality setting.
