A few days ago I updated Lightroom to version 4.3. Since then, the "auto save to xmp" doesn't work. It is checked, but I keep finding files that "have been changed recently". So not only that it's not auto-saving them, but it is also finding "new images" that "have been recently changed" even though I didn't open or edited them in the past several months..
View 8 RepliesI have just updated to Lightroom 5.3 and the strangest thing happened. I went back to my galleries and all the colors are off. Everything is a little greener and a little warmer. I had just exported a wedding that I shot a a few days ago anf I went back to change one shot. I noticed that it didn't match any of the other shots or previous version of that shot. I am an Olympus shooter (OMD E-M1) and I know that Adobe just added new Olympus profiles into Lighroom for the first time. I am not using any of those profiles, just the Adobe Standard profile. I am still experiencing a color shift. I am running an 2011 Imac w/ Maverick, 12gigs RAM, SSD Boot Disc. I didn't have any problem until the update. I don't know how to get the colors back that I adjusted the images to. I
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm using LR 4.3 on Windows 7, 64-bit. It seems to work pretty well in Library and Develop and such, so I don't think there's a performance issue...
When I do a synchronize on a folder (may be 500 files or as few as 20), new files don't show up to be imported. I can look at the folder and SEE the file. It's there. But, it's NOT in the library grid. Synchronize does NOT see the file. If I do an import (separate from Synchronize), the file usually shows up. The file I can't see in the library shows up in the list with a checkmark, so it KNOWS it's not been imported. At that point, I can go ahead and tell LR to add them and it's fine.
ALSO, when I add a keyword to a new file, it doesn't show up when I open the files for that keyword. For example, I take a .dng file edit it, then finish in Photoshop. Saving the file in Photoshop gets it back to LR. I can see it in the files in Develop. I can see it in the Library grid. But it ISN'T in the keyword set. Even if I ADD the keyword AGAIN, it STILL doesn't show up in the files for that keyword. If I shut down Lightroom and restart it, THEN the file shows up in the keyword set. Is there some "auto-update" setting I've messed up?
So I just downloaded and ran the updates for lightroom 3 (now 3.6) and now when I open folders to view my picture files, the canon raw files are no longer associated with lightroom. Let me further explain.
After shooting, I would plug my card into a card reader and see which pictures I wanted to view in lightroom. I shoot in jpeg and raw so I could view the jpeg thumbnails to see which raw files I wanted to open in lightroom. The raw files would be "labeled" with the LR icon and I would then doulbe click the raw file I wanted and by doing so it would initiate the opeing of LR. However, now the raw files do not have the LR icon assocaited with the raw files and I can longer clcik the raw files to automatically open lightroom.
Did something change with the update?

Alot of the time I will batch a set of photos through a couple actions (photoshop) before I start with lightroom.My problem arises when I (more often than not my colleuge) will start working with the wrong source pictures (either scaled down size or not batched yet). So i've got a collection with all the wrong sized photos as source. So my question is if i replace the picture withe the proper resolution files which are named the same is there a way i can force lighroom to "relink" with the high res versions? I tried deleting the source files with the hope that lightroom would ask me to relink them but it didn't.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a working "watched folder", established through Lightroom's auto-import settings. When I place an image into that folder, it is imported into my lightroom catalog.
However, if I put a folder of images into that watched folder (i.e. "James and Stephanie" is put into a "wedding" folder), nothing happens. I do not want all of my images in one single folder; that's why I have Lightroom, so they can be organized in folders but collected in a database.
I also do not understand why Lightroom wants to move auto-imported images into a destination folder.
I would like to drop a folder into the "watched folder" and have Lightroom import (without moving the image) into my catalog.
I was surprised to not find this issue in Internet searches; is it dreadfully obvious, or is there a better way that I'm not familar with?
I downloaded and installed the 13.0.1.1 patch for PS Windows but the about box still shows version 13.0.1. Did something go wrong or is this normal?
Moreover, contrary to what is announced in the forum header message, using the Help | Updates menu doesn't trigger any update. The 13.0.1.1 update is only available from the Security certificates updates page.
Changing a file association is a simple matter you either do it in Windows Explorer in the properties or just use the edit in command in bridge.Except that neither is working.
Photoshop CS6 is not even showing up as an option in either Explorer or in Bridge but it is ironically working in Lightroom.I know how to change file associations.

View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter the OS X 10.8.5 update on my current generation 27' iMac moving 1:1 images results in very low resolution for those areas I am moving to with as long as a two second delay before the image snaps back into full resolution. Not only that but when it snaps back into full resolution you see a shift in alignment and a snapping into place with the nearby area that was already in full resolution. This is awful and is occuring with Lightroom 5 and 5.2.
My iMacs specs are the current generation 27" iMac, i7 3.4 Ghz, 32GB RAM, and the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB running OS X 10.8.5.
I did not have this issue with OS X 10.8.3.
profile structure doesn't update when changed. First, the rim to sump value will not change with sump defined by depth and trying to change the sump depth (going deeper and no rules exist). Second, change to define sump by elevation and the sump elevation changes and the grip changes to the correct elevation, but the part outline doesn't change. I've read where the part catalogue location should be updated. I did.

What I want to do is revert the layer back to doing it's auto naming thing. Is there any way to doa that?
I can't just do "undo". Its an old document. I know I can copy the text into a new text layer and it will name it the way I want to, but I don't want to do that if I don't have to.
My Photoshop CS6 (cloud version and actiive) has started crashing as soon as I load an image.
This problem began after an auto update of Windows 7 It took several tries before the Windows update to work (got error message saying Windows could not install updates) until this morning when the update was successfully installed. Now PS CS6 has stopped working.
I am setting up a template and want my page #s to automatically update when i copy a tab. How is this done? I currently have my "Total Sheets" as a field and that works out fine but often need to add/ remove a sheet to/from drawing and would like the page #s to update.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have written some VB code which updates parameters in a model. I would like the code to update the shaft parameters. The shaft is created using the shaft generator. I can use a parameters to set the lengths, diameters and fillets. But when the parameter updates the length stays the same. If I open the shaft assembly, click 'edit using design accelerator' and then click 'ok' in the window the shaft updates. Is there anyway to do this automatically?, maybe through iLogic or API?

Why does AutoCAD still have automatic save if it is not going to automatically save your files? I have used AutoCAD for over 20 years and when the introduced automatic saves, I thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread. But apparently some time between release 2010 and 2012 it was redone or it just don't work. I can recall closing a drawing w/o saving by mistake after having worked on it for 2-3 hours and only loosing at the most 10 minutes of my time. I just did the same thing and lost about 2 hours worth of time and my automatic save was set to every 10 minutes as I have set it since automatic save was introduced.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using LR4 with a Canon camera setup (Wind 7 Ultimate). I've got the auto import setting all configured with an incoming folder and destination. The app recognizes when an image is put in incoming folder and in fact it moves it to the destination folder. What is really annoying is that it leaves me at the import settings dialog and then I have to make all these choices as I would if I were manually importing.
Shouldn't the images be places in the desination folder and some view of that image be displayed in LR? It could be the folder view or ideally I want to see the last image imported at 1:1 size so I can review it and see if I want to take another shot? Maybe there is some flag I've got set incorrectly.
I have been trying to get a list of xrefs contained within a drawing to auto update by using Rtext.
I have got as far as using the following diesel expression.
Xref's in this file are indicated as - Xref name [Filepath]
$(Xrefs,3,)
$(Images,3,Images in this file: )
This gives me more or less what I want but I dont want to show the file path. What changes to the expression I need to do to achieve this.
Using Inventor 2012. I have created a parts list in my .idw that is tied to a .iam Assembly file. In the .iam file I have two instances of the assembly, where one hides certain parts, the other hides others. I can manually tell the parts list which instance I want it to read (see attached image), however, is there a way to have it update automatically? I.e. when I go in to my .iam file and activate one or the other, save the file, then the parts list will auto update itself to include the correct items? Everything else from part names to iProperties auto update in the list, so I'm curious if it can read the correct assembly instance.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWorking in the CC3D features, I am constantly making changes to my bump map. Every time I step-backwards, or make a significant change to the bump texture (smart object?), CC auto-saves the layer. This specific file is a very very large document (3 gigs in the bump texture layer alone), and the 3D layer has lots of lights and is very complex.
This auto-refresh/update really bogs down the time that it would take me to make my changes. I have a very fast machine (I know it's fast, I dont need to list my specs), and I have all shadows disabled.
How do I disable linked smart-object auto-update/refresh?
