Feb 25, 2014I recently decided to use LR to catalog all my images (instead of Bridge). I love that PNG is now supported. Ran into one problem...all the snowflake and white frame images are viewed as a white rectangle due to the background white. I know Preview and other "viewers" don't have this issue. ACDSee has a setting to change the background. Can I do this in LR5? If not, is there a link where I can submit for a product enhancement to the Product Management team for a future release of LR?

Dec 17, 2012A few days ago I updated Lightroom to version 4.3. Since then, the "auto save to xmp" doesn't work. It is checked, but I keep finding files that "have been changed recently". So not only that it's not auto-saving them, but it is also finding "new images" that "have been recently changed" even though I didn't open or edited them in the past several months..

Jul 17, 2007I have just opened up Photoshop CS2 and the default layer background colour has changed!! How I do not know. It seems the white colour has disappeared and been replaced by a cream colour. Even if I select #FFFFFF for white, it stil only gives the cream options. Even clicking the little black and white squares in the tools window, just corrects to this cream colour.

Mar 15, 2012I used to use MediaStudio Pro to create picture in picture especially where the picture starts small and grows to cover the entire background video clip.
I looked for and found a video filter which I thought would allow me to do the same. However after viewing the 'help' for the filter and trying just about everything I could think of I cannot achieve what I want to do if start with a video clip and then have another video clip appear (very small) in one area of the background video and then slowly grow larger to eventually cover the background video clip.
I can make the picture in picture appear and grow larger but it covers the entire background video clip with black effectively covering it no matter what size my picture in picture is. I looked for a chroma key to cover the black out but could not find it.

Dec 14, 2011Corel SP1. I now have toolbars I can see clearly, but the black background makes it impossible to tell if an image has a thin black perimeter border. Last release I could drag the window to size it larger than the image and it was easy to see. The attachment shows the trouble and I can't find where or how to change just the background color of the work surface without changing the color of the workspace that now works best for me.

Oct 9, 2013I just got a issue when I use 'save as web' to save png or gif. when i chose the 'clip to artboard' the size for content will be changed. maybe smaller 1 px for both weight and high or only high. most ot the result will be cut off the buttom. I use 100 px circle with 2px stroke to test this (align the stroke with outside). I set the artboard fit to bounds of the art. so the artboard size should be 104 x 104 px. but when try to 'save as web'. the result will be changed.

May 1, 2013I have an image open in Photoshop, rulers visible on 2 sides. I pulled out the bottom right hand side (as I look at the screen) to have the image float in the background. Normally my background is grey, but suddenly it's turned to blue.
how this happened - what I unknowingly hit - but neither can I work out how to return to grey.

Nov 8, 2012I just learned how to make the background of my images transparent and am learning how to use layers. I am trying to save my pictures to picasa and photoshop so they are backed up and I can easily access them from any computer. I noticed that some of the pics are showing up all black. It's like the colors are inverted almost. I can kinda see the image in white, but mostly the whole thing is black. I noticed the same thing happened when I tried to open some of the images in paint.
I checked to see if they are all the same file type and they are not. Some are gif and some are png.
Also, some of my images won't open in windows photo gallery. They open in a blank web page. I originally go to my pictures and find them there, but when I click on them they open a page in IE instead of windows photo gallery so I can't crop them or anything.
I am trying to work on a project where I print silhouettes or simple images on vintage sheet music to use as art. I need to be able to take them to a print shop to have this done and I can't do that if the images show up black or won't open in a regular program.
I am attaching a pic that saved black like I talked about and a pic of what it is supposed to look like.

I am trying to get the white background changed to yellow to match the web page. I have followed the instructions in the GIMP manual for bucket fill, Foreground Select Tool, edit>fill with fg or bg color. Nothing works. The only color I can get is black when the fg/bg option is black. In the toolbox I have changed both fg and bg to yellow. Still no change. I would like to change a new canvas to the yellow bg color and then copy and paste my image onto it.

May 3, 2013I imported 150 raw photos from my Nikon D5100 and edited them all.
Then I imported one raw file from a different SD card (same camera) into the same catalog and edited that photo.
Suddenly all 150 photos I had originally imported into my catalog in raw were now JPG.
The only raw photo in the whole catalog was the single one I brought in from the second SD card.
I didn't click any weird buttons. I didn't do any kind of export or extraneous things.
All I did was:
1. Import 150 raw photos and edit them
2. Import 1 raw photo from a second SD card and edit it
3. Suddenly all my 150 raw photos were JPG photos and not raw any more
I am using Lightroom 4.4 with OSX 10.8.3

Mar 8, 2012When I export my images from LR4 to CS5 using the Edit In... choice, I first get the ...may require the...Camera Raw plug-in version 7.0... which we all know doesn't exist. Not that that isn't annoying enough (I know - I can turn off the warning) but the image then presented in PS5 is not of the same quality as the one I am exporting from LR4. It's almost as if the Lightroom adjustments are not carried through. I have tried all three color space options to no avail. Also, I am not being presented with the dialog asking if I want to edit a copy with Lightroom adjustments. These are Nikon RAW files (.nef) that I am working with. Other images that are not RAW files do display the Edit Photo with Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 dialog.

May 31, 2013Until I launched LR4 today, my Folders display would show a chronological listing of the path names of the import locations I made, with the most recent import location at the bottom of the list. Today, it only showes the folder structure with icons that are in my main "pictures" folder on my "C" drive. I didn't change antything that I know of, and now can't find out how to get the chronological listing back without the icons. That was a very convenient to easily get back to any of the most recent import sessions and associated photo locations I had. How can I get rid of the folder icons and structure?

Aug 26, 2012I moved from Windows to Mac. Today I imported a set of photos from my camera to my disk. After rendering all of my photos became B&W (LR4 changed color treatment of my RAW files). It surprised me a lot. I did it again and again. All my photos are B&W. I have to change color treatment in all of them. I would prefer my old importing scheme (photos are color after rendering). I did not use any preset and all oprions were as usual (only changed a name of photos).
I noticed that LR4 changed a few other options: decreased highlights by 100, increased shadow by 100, increased clarity by 50, changed tone curve to strong contrast, increase sharpening to 100, noise reduction to 40, and so on. Increadible! How can I came back to my way of importing?

Feb 25, 2014I edited my picture in LR then I choose > Edit in Photoshop. All well. PS opens and I edit in PS. Then I save my image on my PC as a JPG. Then I want to upload it to a site certain site. And once the photo is uploaded the colors are all different. Not slightly but let's say I selected Old Polar as a preset . It will be like that in PS but on the web it looks like for example blue became closer to dark grey. Or other colors changed.
When I edit first in LR . Save it to my computer . Then open it in PS it works fine. But I don't want to do that.
