Photoshop Elements :: How To Make A Label For Disc Or Jewel Case Or To Backup Files
Jan 22, 2013
In Photoshop Elements 10 one can create a CD using the edit menu "share/more options." This function seems missing in PSE 11? I am not seeking to make a label for a disc or a jewel case or to back up files. Has this function been dropped or am I just not finding same?
I've restored from a backup on external disc..... but it seems that all of my categories, filing, faces named..... all of the hard work I put into organizing the catalogue was NOT restored?.....
I'm not sure if there was something I didn't tick on the restore?.... but I would have thought, the catalogue would restore to the exact place it was backed up???
I'm using PSE 9 on a new Mac Mini. I want to be able to save files with a lower-case extension by default. With my main (non-administrator) account, the extension is there, but it's always in uppercase. I've tried to select the "Use lower-case" option, but it always comes in upper-case, and when I go back to the preferences, the "Use lower-case" option is unselected. In my administrator account, I can't even get the "Always use an extension" option to stay selected.
My first objective is to get a directory and its sub-directoried to agree as far as total file count is concerned and I'm not getting there. I have a directory the shows a total of 1082 files. When I totaled the number of files in the sub-directories I had 1080 files. I found two files that did not belong in the directory. I removed the tags from the two files (pictures) and then removed them from the catalog but not from the hard disk. They belong to a different catalog. When I totaled the sub-directories I got 1080 which meant the two files were gone from the sub-directories. But, the directory total was still 1082 and noted that two files were not shown. If they arn't in the sub-directories why are they counted in the main directory?
I have PSE11 on my old Windows XP computer. I have installed it also on my new Windows7 computer and hoped it would be easy to transfer the photos by backup/restore via an external hard drive.
When I try to restore a backup on to the new computer, no tly file is found. When I then look at that backup folder in Windows explorer the .tly file is absent. I tried again with an older backup, checking first that a tly file had was present, by looking on the old computer with Windows explorer. Looking with explorer on the new computer - no .tly file. Looking again with explorer on the old computer, the .tly file is gone!
I am completely mystified. I dont't want to keep trying as each successive backup is older. If the .tly files are gone, I assume the backup becomes useless.
This problem has existed since I purchased a replacement laptop and reinstalled PSE 8..I have a little less than 8,000 photos and I back up to an External HD..I have read the earlier extensive discussion on this topic which seemed inconclusive as to whether it could be resolved. The problem seems to exist in PSE 8
When i back-up the catalogue, i assumed the backup would be mede of al the tags added to photo's. When i check the catalogue-files, i see a whole lot of jpg-files. My actual photo-collection contains jpg-, raw an avi-files.
I have a habit of making a copy of all my photofiles, but now it seems double
Question: Does de backup-function of photoshop elements 11 actually make a backup of tags and photo's?
I want to make a curve label with all its elements (radius,tangent...) and the data of widenning and superelevation on the curve?. I attached the label that I want to create on C3D.
I have a client that needed to know the distance required to make a stair case, and when I drew it wight revit 2013, I discovered that I could manually adjust the riser height but was unable to adjust the tread length. I was also unable to end the stairs with a tread rather than a riser, witch he wanted.
I am an SL netizen, SL being SecondLife. I did a couple of earrings and gave them to a friend to sell and he says I should go into jewelry making. I do have a little experience in PS as I already make t shirts for sale in SL. But jewelry making... I am a little lost on making the jewels and gems. The primitive part will be easy, but I'll need the textures to put onto the facets, and this is where this delightful forum and my post comes into play. How do I do gem / jewel facet textures?
This is some jewelry I bought earlier...
how she did it would be a faux pas, like asking Mars Candies how they make M&Ms, ya know? But I hope with someone's help I can make my own just as good version for using on my own jewelry.
I've just installed elements 12 and have added names to people, and added some keytags. Is there a way to save this information so when I back it up to a portable hard drive I have all the keytags and such if needed for putting on a new computer if for example the hard drive crashes and I lose everything.
My Videostudio is in Chinese(I hate it but no choice in HK shops), so sometime is hard for me to understand how to do this and that!
I see some topic said I can try to make a ISO first instead of using the burn function, I try to output the project to a videso and a m2t file come out, I getting confuse now, how can I make the ISO file, by using the create video file? or create a disc? I have different project all put in one disc, if I burn the ISO, still have the menu?
I am a novice with PSLR 2.When I make adjustments to images in develop ie, exposure, color etc. the changes show in LR but not when I display them on my Apple TV from my "photo file". I save the changes to disc but this does not work, they show unadjusted in the "photo file". When I edit the image in PS Elements and save they display corrected on Apple TV.
I have an early 2008 Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard. It's been awhile since I've tried installing Photoshop Elements 6, but I am trying currently. Disc is good, no scratches, used for install plenty of times in the past. Every time I insert it into the laptop, it takes the disc and thinks on it, like it's going to load. But then just ends up spitting the cd back out.
No one of the used files are bigger than 20MB in file size. When opening the file, my empty hard drive space (40GB of free space) decreases to ZERO. Which temporary file on earth can be 40GB big? My system is an i Mac with 24GB RAM. How can this happen?
EDIT: I just found out this might be the so called scratch-disc. But anyway, how can a file take up this much space? Photoshop has a allocated RAM space of 16GB on my system.
I have been using Elements 9 and Premiere 9 on Windows 7 machines, and retain the Windows and the Mac discs, with serial numbers. I am now changing to an iMac on Mavericks, which does not have a disc drive. How do I download the full Elements 9 and Premiere 9?

I have CorelDraw X5, and it makes back up of what ever I'm doing but it saves them in the same folder as I have my regular files. Is there a way I can tell Corel either not to make back ups or put them some place else? I've looked around and can't find anything.
Why won't my photo album copy to a disc or another folder on the hard drive. It shows that it copied but when you try to open it it says no files found. For some reason adobe element 11 is blocking my album from going anywhere but to shutter-fly or to stay in the create of 11. I have worked 2 day on my album and not i can't get it published into a book.
I've used Elements in the past, last one being Elements 8. now with E12, i'm unable to print directly to a disc. ive looked under the 'printer setting' ' paper size' ' type of printer' and nothing says CD/DVD or 80mm or 120mm.
