Photoshop :: Installing Insert Disc 2
Apr 27, 2008i recently downloaded the trial of Adobe Photoshop CS3 Elements (from Adobe's website), I want to see what this program is like before purchasing. The files extracted with no problems, but once near the end of the install i get a prompt telling me to insert disc 2, now because this is the downloaded trial, there is no disc to. I am running Windows XP Media Edition (SP2)and am out of ideas. I have tried ruffly 3 times, re-downloading every time, and still I still get the same message.

May 7, 2007I'm trying to create a digital layout in PSCS version 8.0, and when I go to save the psd file (very early stages of the creation...its not very large yet) I get an error that says "Unable to save (file name) because of a disc error". I've never seen this before and am trying not to panic, but I'm on a deadline! LOL And am running behind as usual!
I am using an older mac, and I'm pretty dang maxed out on Gb...gotta clean up some files, but having a hard time finding a free dup file finder for macs...so I'm procrastinating, basically. Could the fact that I've got very little Gb available left have something to do with this?
Photoshop :: OSX Lion And CS5 Scratch Disc Error
Mar 19, 2012I've been using Photoshop CS5 for awhile now (about a year and a half). Up to yesterday I was running OSX Snow Leapord with no issues. Yesterday I upgraded to OSX Lion and today, my first day using Photoshop in Lion, I'm getting repeated "scratch disc error" messages with a "quit" button (no other options). Photoshop works fine for awhile, three hours or so, and then I'll get the "scratch disc error" message and will be forced to quit Photoshop and restart.

My main drive is a 2Tb drive with 1.7Tb of available space, so I'm sure scratch disc space isn't a problem. I've got about another Tb of scratch disc space available on two other internal drives. I've got 14Gb of Ram, all memtested and working perfectly. It clearly seems to be an issue with OSX Lion since it never happened before today. A few other details: I'm up to date with Photoshop CS5, I have Open GL turned off because I'm on an older Mac Pro (a 3.0 Ghz dual quad core, 2.1) and my video card doesn't play nicely with Open GL (a whole different kind of crash).

All three times I've gotten the "scratch disc error" pop-up today it seems to have been when I open multiple files. This last time I opened something like 8 files. Big deal; sometimes I open 40 or more without any problems. I have yet to lose any of my work (I save constantly - a habit born out of past frustrations), so it's managable, but it shouldn't be happening.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it several times. What the Christ, guys? Am I forever doomed to have an incomplete, non-working Photoshop on my computer? Is there any way I can simply delete all the files and remove it from the registry?

Aug 9, 2012I've combed through the forums and tried every fix that I've read, however nothing has worked. I've just been given a new work laptop with a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise Edition running SP1. Full administrator privledges.I am attempting to install Adobe Photoshop CS3 straight from the DVD, so no updates, patches, etc.

After running either the autorun or directly setup.exe within the Adobe CS3 folder, the Initializing Adobe Photoshop CS3 bar makes it between 80-90% before jumping to the Loading Setup screen where I'm presented with the error, "Critical errors were found in setup.
OK, the support pages have had me look for "FATAL" (case sensitive) within the setup log. It appears on the very last line of the 80 mb text file. Here's the surrounding elements:

Photoshop :: Error Message While Installing Adobe Creative Suite 5.5
Feb 11, 2013I have a brand new Dell desktop that runs windows 8. I installed the Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Master Collection and got a message saying that there were errors during installation and some things might not work properly. I uninstalled and did it a second time. Same message.
I then spoke with an Adobe agent who told me to download a program to detect what the errors were. He said they were minor issues and shouldn't affect the programs. I then spent hours today speaking with Dell on the phone and the rep took remote control of the computer and did a diagnostics check on the hardware. He said everything is fine. I asked him if it might be the video card needing an update so he ran an update. Same issues, no change.
We changed the compatibility to windows 7 and still no change. I then uninstalled the creative suite and tried installing it from the desktop. Still same problems. These are the issues in Photoshop:

1)When using certain tools (transform tool, crop tool) the images goes completely black.
2) The background switches at random- sometimes checkered, sometimes grey, and sometimes black.
3) Color saturation is incorrectly represented. It switches whenever it wants. For instance, when I zoom in and out it changes.

In Adobe Bridge some of the RAW images don't show in the program. Some I just can't open. Others open fine. Those images will open in Photoshop but not in Bridge.
