Photoshop :: Central Cache Preferences Purge

Mar 4, 2012

I'm using PSCS5.1 and when I open Bridge I get the message "Bridge encountered a problem and is unable to read the cache. Please try purging the Central Cache Preferences to correct the situation." where "Central Cache Preferences" are located? I found in Bridge under Tools the "Cache" but It does not say anything about Central Cache Preferences.

Photoshop :: CS3 Acting Slow On MAC / Purge Cache?

Dec 3, 2012

Using my MAC version 10.5.8, and when searching for images in Bridge, whether it is among 3 external hard drives or just one, the search has many long delays, somtimes I think it is my mouse, then I see the images taking a long time to scroll and long time for thumbnails to appear.  My mouse seems to jump around, but I think it is a delay.  Do I need to purge cache?

Photoshop :: Warp Pattern About Central Point - Advanced Transforming?

Jul 30, 2012

Basically I am trying to warp a pattern about it's centre point, in a radial manor (the pattern file is obviously square in photoshop). If you imagine the pattern on a planar surface, the warp that I am trying to achieve is as if one were to grab the central point of the surface and pull it directly away from the face - see image below for visual aid...

I'm trying to achieve a pattern that is a flat file, but looks like you are looking directly at the end of a pointy end of a cone that used to be a flat surface with the pattern on it.

Photoshop :: Highlight Central Portion Of Photo Using Custom Shape

Jul 7, 2013

I'm on CS5. I have a photo, and I want to highlight the central portion of this using a custom shape - let's say a star. When I do this I can work with the shape.

I don't want to work with the shape, I want it to be there, but the image inside the shape I want to remain visible. Then round the edges of the shape I want to add borders (?Stroke) of colors selected from the image. Obviously I don't want to hand draw the shape because I won't make it symmetrical.

So, once I've chosen my shape, how can I work outside the shape, whilst still retaining visibility inside the shape?

Revit :: Syncing To Central File Over VPN Connection

Aug 16, 2011

I am having an issue syncing to a central file over a vpn connection.  I am able to vpn into a consultant's network and I am able to access the folder structure of the network by typing in an IP address into file explorer.  I have mapped the network connection and I am able to consistently access the files.  At the consultants office the files are located on NAS device and they access the device using the following nomenclature.  \devicenamefolder.  I access the same device with the following nomenclature.  \ipaddressfolder.  When I open the central file, the central file thinks that it has moved and is informing me to save the file as a new central file or a local file.

I am not a network guy but does this have something to do with the central file being saved with a unc path vs an ip address??  Is there a work around for this?  Does the vpn need to be configured differently or does the consultant just need to save the central file by using the ip name?

Revit :: Central / Local File Synchronizing?

Jun 28, 2011

My Architecture office is using Mac Pro's with OSX and Parallels to run Windows 7 and Revit 2011.  We are having issues with getting everyone to be able to work synchronize to the Central File.  If one workstation (workstation 1) intially creates the Central File, puts it on the server then creates a local from the Central File they have no issue when synchronizing to Central.  However if another workstation (workstation 2) creates their own Local File it does not synchronize to central, it tries and an error of "File Failed to Save" pops up everytime.

The Central File location is the same on both workstations (ex.  \psfFirmProjectsActive ProjectsProject# and nameConstruction DocumentsDrawingsCentral File Name}.

We have also turned off all antivirus and firewalls to elimnate that as an access issue.

how we may be able to get everyone working with Local Files, and Synchronizing to Central?

Revit :: Change IP Address Of Central Server?

Oct 19, 2011

I'm testing out a Revit Server configuration with a local server on one site connected to a central sever at another site. So far the testing has gone fine but we've run into a snag. The public IP address at the site of the central server has changed because of a change in ISPs. Now I'm unable to figure out how to update the IP addres settings for the central server that the local server connects to..

I've tried running the install again but it won't run since the software is already installed. I've tried running a repair. I've tried logging into Revit Server Administrator but there is no option to change the IP address of the central server it connects to.

AutoCad :: Drawing A Line Central To Two Parallel Lines?

Dec 14, 2011

if I have two lines which run roughly paralel, but sometimes vary in the distance between them, is there a quick method of having CAD draw a line which is central to the two?

Basically, like an offset, but it would need to offset the line at a distance that is central to the two lines, as and where it varies. IE, you couldnt choose 'offset' and then choose 'mid between two points' because the distance between the lines varies at points..

Is it simply the way Revit is programmed to locate and access central files?

Photoshop :: Purge Histories Not Working

Jan 30, 2013

Choosing Edit: Purge: Histories or Edit: Purge: All isn't purging the history list (or affecting it in any way). This is true regardless of whether or not I have "Allow Non-Linear History" checked in the History Options. I can still clear the history with the "Clear History" option from the History panel's own drop-down list, but the Purge option (which seems enabled -- i.e. it isn't grayed out) seems to do nothing.

I remember the Purge option working fine. Currently I'm running Photoshop CS6 (13.1.2 x64) on a Snow Leopard (10.6.8) Mac. Why Purge isn't working?

Photoshop :: PURGE Work? Freeing RAM On...

have Photoshop CS3 on Xp

When i go to purge i never see that it has any effect on my available free ram memory. I have a 3rd party program that shows me free ram availability and when I get low on RAM when using Photoshop...I think of Purge...but it does not free up anything noticable.

Am I expecting too much from Purge...maybe I dont understand that it only does part of a job.

What to you do when your large photoshop project takes up 80% of your system ram...I usually close everything...shut down Photoshop...then relaunch Photoshop...then I now have about 60% of my 2 gigs to use again. I crash in photoshop when I get to 14% of usable Ram left.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Dimensioning To Central Axis Through Multiple Sketch Planes

Dec 3, 2011

I am creating a part that consists of a series of intermediate Lofts.  The various Loft termination profiles are sketched on a series of stacked planes, most of which are parallel to one another.  I have a Work Axis (oriented at an angle off of true vertical) that penetrates all of these sketch planes, essentially forming a "central axis" for my part.  Most, but not all, of my sketch planes are normal (perpendicular) to that axis.

I want to use my "central axis" as a reference point in each of my sketches, i.e., the point where the axis intersects the sketch plane.  I am having a minor difficulty.

When I project my central axis into a sketch whose plane is normal (perpendicular) to the axis,  Inventor displays a reference point where the axis penetrates the plane and I can dimension my sketch geometry relative to that point.  Conversely, no such point is displayed when I project the axis into a sketch plane that is NOT normal to the axis.

Is this correct behavior?   To have a dimension able point on my "non-normal" sketch planes, must I create explicit Work Points to mark the intersection between my Axis and such planes, and then project those points into the related sketches?

3ds Max Animation :: Animate Moving 180 Degrees Around Central Axis Remote From Cylinder

Oct 29, 2013

I have a cylindrical tube that I need to animate moving 180 degrees around a central axis remote from the cylinder.  I also want to create a circular motion locally for the cylindrical tube as it follows the 180 degree arc.I planned on creating the 180 degree rotation first and then the local circular motion second.

When I created the first motion I tried to use an object (another cylinder) as the transform centre for the rotation.  As soon as I click on "Auto-key" the "Use transform centre" option is greyed out.  I therefore moved the cylindrical tubes own pivot to the required position for centre of rotation.  After I created the 180 degree rotation I moved the pivot back so that I could create the local rotation.  At this point I find that the original motion has now changed to suit the new pivot point.

how I can get the "Use transform centre" option to work in this instance?

AutoCAD .NET :: Purge Linetypes

Jan 31, 2011

How can I purge linetypes?  We get data from outside sources and my goal is to load our linetypes.  I have a list of layers and store the previous layer linetypes.  I reset them all to "Continuous".  Now I have to purge the old linetype definitions but I can't make them go away.  I need to purge DASHED and HIDDEN so far.  If I open the file and click on the linetype in layer manager, I still see the old DASHED and HIDDEN definitions.  I have tried db.purge(linetypeobjectid) but they don't go away.

Do I need to go through the symboltablerecord to find the correct linetypetablerecord and remove it?  Will that remove the linetype from the list shown in layer manager?  That is what I need to do - make sure DASHED and HIDDEN *have* to be re-loaded from our linetypes.
