Paint.NET :: Blur Edges Of Images For Client Website
May 18, 2013
how to blur the images for a client website..What I have done is to take 2 images and put them alongside each other, but I need to blur the area where they join to make the join look less severe. Also, I need to blur the complete outer edge of the whole image as well.
i have outlined this pic and used the Gaussian blur , but how would i soften the edges of the blur so it doesnt look so "sharp"? I want it to kinda blend in so to say here is the pic.
I was wondering, how do you blur just the edges of your image in photoshop? I want it to blend more with a black background with a graphic i am doing in Illustrator
I filled a transparent layer with blue sky, opened another layer and used the elliptical marquee tool to draw a round sun, and filled with yellow. I then blurred the edges with a simple keystroke, but can't remember what I did.
I have no idea where to start. I guess I want to keep the edges defined, but still have a blur-type effect in there. But I also like how the colors are kinda washed, if that's the right term for it?
I have a picture has hard edges and I was able to blend these edges using lasso, mask and then Gaussian blur, check attached picture. is there a another way can produce better result or that result is enough ?
I am on Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 2013.I have a headshot that I can cut out of a larger photo using the freehand tool to trace the edges and then subtract the background that I want cropped out.
Now, I'm trying to figure out how I can apply some kind of transparency to the edges to soften them up a bit so they aren't so stark and will overlay nicely over my site background once the image is uploaded.
I am in the process of completing my Photographic website and need to make thumbnail and larger sizes for the the site. The site will have approximately 100 images on it. Clicking the thumbnails will connect to the larger images. How do I make both sizes in PS CS? Perhaps their is a generator that you would recommend for Mac 10.2?
I'm making a collage containing 4 images with different resolution. I want each image to have faded edges (to white) and I'm using gradient tool to accomplish this. The problem is that since the images have different resolution the gradient tool gives different result on each image even though I make the same "swipe". Is there another way of accomplishing these faded edges, equally looking and of the same size? The faded edges (to white) will, as you might have understood already, constitute the limit between the four pictures, that is, a white cross.
I do a lot of watermarking for the images on my website an created an action for that. What I did:
place water mark select both layers align left and bottom move the watermark layer up and to the right with the arrow keys (padding from the side of the picture)
Before I apply this action to my images I make them all 930 pixels in width with the original ration, so the height varies. When I apply the action to my images, on some of the images the watermark shows up just fine (like I created the action) but on some of them the watermark shows up very small or to large.
when i create images in Xara they look very clear and crisp but once exported and appear on the website they lose their clarity and sharpness.
Which brings me to the question.. what is the best way to export images for a website? Are there advanced settings that I may use to improve the images appearance on the website.
Heres a link to a website: [urL]........ and Im uploading the Xara document as well.
For the past one year I have been regularly editing my photographs in Photoshop (CS5 and CS3) and uploading them on my blog and my fb page.
However since the past 45 days I edited 5 albums in Photoshop but have not been able to upload a single photo on fb or on any other page. I moved browsers trying chrome, fire fox and even IE but nothing worked. I then formatted my laptop and reinstalled CS5 only to know that too was not useful.
I tried editing some photos in basic picassa and that worked well and was able to upload photos on fb and my blog. I then tried uploading some old photos (edited in photoshop) and they are getting uploaded. So I am sure this is a recent problem with photoshop.
I am making a DVD of a wedding and as part of a slide show of stills I want to download about 10 at a time and then display them 1 screen shot at a time .They are on a website that the groom raised for the occasion. They are around 2.34 MB jpegs each so they are small .I have X5 Ultimate and Paint Shop Pro X.
I'm on PS CS4 and an intel iMac. This may seem obvious to others, but I can't figure how the adobe navigation images (here at the top) are made. There seems to be something beyond just a gradient that is more texture oriented.

I have a website that I recently updated with a new logo created on Corel Draw X4 and then edited using Photo Paint X4. I resampled the image at 72 dpi and save as a jpg.
Once saved I loaded it to my Microsoft Windows Live Small Business account for upload to my website. It was a straight forward process. However, when viewing the website, I noticed that while the logo was visible using FireFox browser, it was not visible using the Explorer browser.
My first thought was that it must be a setting in the browser, but the image also failed to render when viewing the website through my smart phone browser.
This brought to mind that I had had this problem before when trying to upload an older logo design in the same manner. Some browsers just would not load the image.
So, I had this crazy thought that it may have something to do with Corel and the way it saved jpg images. So, I opened the jpg using the old Microsoft Paint program and without making any changes to it, I saved it from there. After that the image loads on the website with all the browsers that wouldn't work before.
I upload my customer proofs with LR to my website for easy viewing. I would estimate that I loose 25% of potential orders due to theft. How can I protect the images on my website from being downloaded or copied?
Trying to use Adobe Edge to get faded header images on my website. Was referred to Adobe Edge because it is supposed to be easy for beginners. I was able to upload my images, but then there was no instruction/direction on what to do next. Everything I clicked just brought me somewhere else. Every time I tried adding coding to my page, it messed it up.
used to use photostudio 5 but PS CS3 is supposed to be alot better so i got this and everytime i save it, (in mypictures folder) the preview and everything looks fine, but once i close the folder out and go back, it looks blurry and when i upload it to the web, its really blurry ...
I want to make a "favicon" for my web site, and was wondering if Paint.Net does anything along that line, such as converting an image to .ico format.
Favicon stands for Favorites Icon. If you look in your Bookmarks or Favorites section of your web browser, you will see a customized icon next to the listing for a site. That's a Favicon.
I find that this works well when incorporating the image into another picture on Paint.Net, but when I try to post the image on another website, such as a blog, the background is no longer invisible but white again.
I don't know how to do an edge blur. basically I have a smokey cloud in the background and a picture in front of it. i want the edges of the picture in front to be blurred so it appears to be all one picture.
