CorelDRAW X6 :: White Lines In Traced Images

Jan 17, 2013

When I trace an image in CorelDRAW (v15), I get of course a banding of colors, but unfortunately the regions with different colors are displayed with very thin white lines as borders. This look is retained when published to pdf. How can I get rid of these white borders?

Photoshop :: Remove Color From Images To Prepare Them For Being Auto-traced In AI?

Sep 20, 2012

I want to remove color from images to prepare them for being autotraced in AI.

Is there an advantage to using Image > Mode > Grayscale  vs. Image>Adjustments>desaturate vs. Image>Adjustments>hue saturation and dropping down the saturation vs.

Image>Adjustments>Threshold for this purpose?

Do these all generally do the same thing, or would one of these result in a better job of turning my image to black and white with higher contrast?

Illustrator :: Eraser On Traced Image?

Mar 23, 2014

I imported the scanned image to illustrator and then used object->image tracer and converted it to a vector graphic with area fill and no stroke. So far so good.

I now want to erase little mistakes in the drawing, that look like this

if I use the eraser, this happens:

so the path is weirdly bend around the stroke of the eraser, which obviously isn't what I wanted to achieve. In all the videos I watched about the eraser, it worked fine and if I just create an area with the blob brush and erase a part of that, that works fine as well. What's so different with the traced image?

Illustrator :: Turning Image Traced PNG To Paths?

Jan 21, 2013

I am trying to make a crack wall texture effect on some text in illustrator cs6.

I have some crack texture photoshop brushes I really like, so I brushed on a blank psd canvas and saved it to PNG with transparent background.

I placed that in illustrator and image traced it so that it would create the paths for the cracked effect, but I can't seem to get it to make the paths for me.

I'm trying to do this so I can use the outlined brushes to erase the text layer with the traced crack png, removing the proper paths from the text layer so the text layer is now transparent where those cracks are.

Lightroom :: Copied Catalog And Images To A New PC

Dec 7, 2011

I have recently moved my entire Lightroom catalogue along with the images to a new PC. I ensured all the paths were identical, and everything seemed to have gone smoothly except that now, when I import, Lightroom cannot correctly identify which images are already in the catalogue and will try to import duplicates.

For example, with the root image folder selected in the import dialogue, Lightroom will find the following: With "All Photos" selected, Lightroom identifies 13165 photos to import (this is what I would expect - my entire library plus a few new images). With "New Photos" selected, Lightroom finds 11537 photos - only slightly fewer than the entire library. With both "New Photos" and "Don't Import Suspected Duplicates" selected, Lightroom will find 5190 photos - just under half the entire library. The actual number of new photos is around 100.

As a test, I went ahead and imported one of the duplicated photos. The result was two identical images side by side in the library, both pointing at the same file (clicking "Show in Explorer" on each confirms this). The newly imported image has no develop history, although it still retains the develop settings from the xmp file.

I'm running Lightroom 3.5 on Windows 7 Home Premium. The catalog was originally created on a PC running Windows 7 Professional. I have successfully transferred the catalog previously with no issues and I'm not aware of having done anything differently this time.

Paint.NET :: Make Same Copied Patter Copied In Different Positions In Circle

Mar 18, 2012

I' only trying to create a logo for a project of mine.

This logo is composed by two things: the first one is the picture of the logo itself, than the second is the text part (which is not the hardest thing to do).

What I'm trying to do is, once have drown the "subject" (a light blue drop, in my case), to copy and paste it in order to have other four copies of the same drop, but moved and rotated to create something like a circle..

You can find the original logo I created attached. But I'm not really satisfied with it (this is also why I'm writing here!) =)

I'd like to re-create it and put the drops as in the attached logo....

Illustrator :: Paste Copied Item To Specific Location Determined By Point-click

Oct 30, 2013

In most vector based programs I am used to using a function which allows you to paste a copied item to a specific location determined by a point-click. I find this endlessly more useful than pasting to the centre of the screen, or even paste in place, as both are rarely anywhere near where I would like an object to be. I find the function of point-click paste does away with endless dragging of objects across the screen.

Illustrator :: Unwanted Stroke Offset

Jun 25, 2012

I'm having stroke issues. I'm not sure if it's a document setting somewhere or a bug. In one of my documents, when I draw a box and try to set the stroke to inside, it offsets, like this:

Notice that the stroke is on top in the appearance panel, yet the fill is masking half the stroke. If I resize the box, it changes the offset: It was also snapping any stroke weight under 1 pt to 1 pt when my fill was a gradient, although that doesn't seem to be a problem with this shape. Another strange thing is that in a different existing document, the stroke works properly, but if I open a new document with this one open, the same problem occurs in the new document. Is this a document setting?

Illustrator :: Unwanted Gaps Between Exactly Fitting Shapes?

What's the workaround to 'seal' one shape to another and rid the result of these gaps?

Joining the shapes is not an option as they are different colours.
