Illustrator :: How To Extract Images Images Without Losing Quality
Oct 29, 2012I am working on pdf file, in which all the assets has been created in illustrator. I am opening that file in illustrator, and by save for web option exporting the images. But somehow the images as not proper. There are some colour related issues and also the images are not proper.
Is there any other way around so that I can extract those without loosing the quality ?

Jan 22, 2014What I want to do is put the image on a flash drive and take it somewhere to have it printed in photo quality (my printer won't do it). But like I said the image will only open using paint.net and I'm guessing that if I put it on a flash drive as it is now, it will still ask for paint.net to open where ever I take it.So how do I change it to a jpeg or something else where it will open on it's own and be able to be printed somewhere without paint.net?

May 27, 2012For some strange reason when I open a image and click on my text tool, my image goes into vector mode even when I have create mode set for floating or selection.
I had previously done work with vectoring and perhaps I set something that in now locked. I did reset all preferences, but am still having this problem. I don't have this problem in X3.

Feb 3, 2012If I work in Edit mode all the time I can open as many pictures as I like from the Organizer and have them all open at the same time. If I return to the Organizer and open another image, the ones already open are not affected. However if I go to the Manager tab (which only seems to be the Organizer on a separate page) to select an image I have to close any and all items already open in the editor. Surely this cannot be intended behaviour. In X3 it was possible to open images in the Organizer which was on a separate page and then return to it and open others without the original ones closing so why can't we do this in X4? The Manager does allow multiple images to be selected and opened at the same time but these are still closed if at any time you return to the Manager.
Update: I have now read a few posts about this problem and indeed it is not possible to switch between Edit and Manage modes without closing any images you have open for editing. The general feeling seems to be that this is not a problem as the Organizer (File manager) is available in Edit mode anyway so there is no need to go to the Manage tab. However I would disagree with this as some of my folders contain large numbers of images and it is much easier to browse through them using Manager in thumbnail mode as you can see far more images at once than with the Organizer in Edit mode. Also I find that Organizer gets in the way in Edit mode and would much prefer to switch back and forth to the Manager as was possible in X3.
Even if this problem does not affect everyone it is still difficult to understand why Corel would insist that images in the Editor are closed before switching to Manage mode. I cannot personally think of one reason why this would be preferable. Additionally the Organizer in Edit mode does not appear to have any way of resizing the thumbnails to optimize the number viewable at any one time.

Jul 9, 2013I just downloaded the LR4.x -> LR 5 installer from this website, but I can't install it. Each time I try to extract the installer, it fails. I downloaded it 5 times, using 3 different browsers... It does not fail exactly at the same moment (12%, 32%, 23%) but il fails anyway.
I also tried to open the package with winzip, and extract the file manually. Same thing, files can't be extracted as they seem to be corrupted.
Paint Shop Pro :: X4 Can No Longer Open Multiple Images At Same Time For Side-by-side Comparison
Oct 13, 2011I've just recently purchased PSP X4 since they touted that it was much faster loading and more stable (X3 was horrible about crashing). I continue to be amazed at how they (Corel) can just keep digging a hole instead of actually improving this product. I can see why they continue to lose market share.
1) I can no longer open mulitple images at the same time for side-by-side comparison. The work area now will only accommodate 1 open file at a time.
2) I miss not having the file size included in the data box that appears when you hold the cursor over a thumbnail. It was always handy when downsizing (resizing) photos for posting.
3) It is a pain now to have to go back and forth from the "EDIT" tab to the "MANAGE" tab to view full-sized photos (without having to open one at a time). They really screwed the pooch in X2 or X3 (can't remember) when they got rid of the old Organizer format. It was soooo easy to navigate; you had a screen full of thumbnails, you saw what you wanted and clicked it open....just too easy I guess!!! I was hoping they would go back to it for this version. I know in other forums, this change really rankled a lot of users. They just seem to bounce around trying different things. I wonder who the h*ll they use to test this stuff in-house.
I do like the faster speed, but don't know if I'll go for any more versions after this or not (been here since V.7 when JASC owned it). Big mistake selling if off to Corel. I've just about had it and there is some decent up and coming competition out there nowdays.

May 15, 2008We just purchased an Acer laptop computer, picked it up yesterday. Hubby is going to use this strictly for working on his pictures when out of town. He didn't even plan to hook it up to the internet. It has Windows Vista Home Premium, 2G of RAM, 120G of hard drive and a CD/DVD player/recorder. I installed Photoshop CS2, Nik Sharpener, Neatimage noise remover and Huey Pro Calibrater onto the computer last night.
When I opened Photoshop & Bridge, opened a DVD of some RAW images, Bridge would not show the thumbnails and I couldn't open any in Photoshop. In Bridge all that showed was a light blue box with CR2 over it and the file name below for each image. When I tried to open one I got a "Can not complete process due to a program error" message. I did open a jpeg image into Photoshop from the ones included in my documents and had no trouble with that. I didn't acutally try to do anything with it so I'm not sure that any of the options in Photoshop actually work, although they were all active with the jpeg image.

Jan 10, 2004I saw a preference somewhere in PS that told photoshop to open all images at 16.7%. You may be wondering why on earth I would want such an option, but it would come in handy sometimes when opening multiple images of the same size when there is a mix of verticals and horizontals. This way the horizontals would not completely fill the screen, making it easier to navigate through the open images when they are stacked on the screen.

And, sometimes, after trying to open images to edit them in CS5, I'll notice that CS5 now has, in its "Open Recent..." drop down menu under the File menu, some strange file names with an .ini suffix, or long strings of letters and numbers that mean nothing to me.
