Photoshop :: Open All Images At 16.7%

Jan 10, 2004

I saw a preference somewhere in PS that told photoshop to open all images at 16.7%. You may be wondering why on earth I would want such an option, but it would come in handy sometimes when opening multiple images of the same size when there is a mix of verticals and horizontals. This way the horizontals would not completely fill the screen, making it easier to navigate through the open images when they are stacked on the screen.

I'm using CS5.1-- just installed it. I go to File-->Open--> the image, and no window opens.

It seems the window is hidden because I see an icon in the layers pallet and the icon says it's visible... I can't click anywhere because there is no window to click in "Fit on Screen"  doesn't do anything..

Photoshop :: Can't Open Raw Images In CS2 After...

May 15, 2008

We just purchased an Acer laptop computer, picked it up yesterday. Hubby is going to use this strictly for working on his pictures when out of town. He didn't even plan to hook it up to the internet. It has Windows Vista Home Premium, 2G of RAM, 120G of hard drive and a CD/DVD player/recorder. I installed Photoshop CS2, Nik Sharpener, Neatimage noise remover and Huey Pro Calibrater onto the computer last night.

When I opened Photoshop & Bridge, opened a DVD of some RAW images, Bridge would not show the thumbnails and I couldn't open any in Photoshop. In Bridge all that showed was a light blue box with CR2 over it and the file name below for each image. When I tried to open one I got a "Can not complete process due to a program error" message. I did open a jpeg image into Photoshop from the ones included in my documents and had no trouble with that. I didn't acutally try to do anything with it so I'm not sure that any of the options in Photoshop actually work, although they were all active with the jpeg image.

Photoshop :: How To Open And View Several Images At Once

Jan 4, 2013

I like to compare and see what images I've worked on and would like to have them all open at one time. In CS4 you could have up to 15 open and reduced so you could compare them at once and quickly move from one to the other. Is this possible in CS6?

Photoshop :: How To Show Two Images Open In CS6

Jan 31, 2013

How can I show two images open in Photoshop CS6  - next to each other?

Going through the screen modes by pressing F like in Photoshop CS5 doesn't get me there. That screen mode with the floating windows seems to be missing. I need it for comparisons and for dragging layers between the two images.

Is the floating window screen mode achievable in CS6 or how else can I put two opened images next to each other on Photoshop's workspace?

Photoshop :: Cannot Open Images From Bridge

Jun 19, 2013

I have installed and updated both PhotoshopCC and BridgeCC.

I can display the images in Bridge. However, whenever I double-click on them I get the following error message' "Windows cannot find C:ProgramfilesAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6 (64 bit). Make sure you typed the name correctly and the try again."  I can open the files from PhotoshopCC without going to Bridge.

What can I do? This may be related to the above problem: PhotoshopCC does not seem to set the file associations.

Photoshop :: How To Get RAW Images To Open Automatically In ACR

Dec 1, 2012

I have been away for a few months and now, when I go to open a RAW image in CS6, it tries to default to Photoshop, then opens in Camera RAW.  This is something new. How do I get RAW images to open automatically in ACR (Adobe Camera Raw)? They did before (two months ago). They do not now.  I can, of course, right click and go to the dropdown menu and tell it to open in RAW but that is an extra, unnecessary step. There's a saying..."It's not a bug, it's a feature." No, this seems to be a bug. What happened?

Photoshop :: Cannot Open Camera Raw Images In PS CR3

Apr 27, 2008

Even though I've been a professional photographer for over 25 years, I finally decided it was time to go digital. Little did I know how overwhelming and frustrating the learning process would be, especially for an old timer like me. Well, the 10 day return period on the digital equipment and software purchase is up, so I have no choice but to move forward in the learning process. :)

Actually, I'm excited about all the photographic possibilities that digital has to offer over film.

The first batch of photos were taken with a new Canon 40-D in Raw + JPEG. When I open my picture folder (containing those photos) in Bridge, a CR2 icon appears next to each thumbnail image that was loaded from the camera flash card. The Bridge program is part of Photoshop CS3 that I purchased, and the 40-D has the latest firmware. (If relevant, the computer is a PC using Vista Home Edition.)

Problem: When I double click on a JPEG image, I am able to load that image into Photoshop. When I double click on the CR2 icon, however, I get a message that says, "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document." What am I overlooking?

Also, shouldn't a thumbnail Raw image appear along with its corresponding JPEG thumbnail when the content of the picture folder is opened in Bridge? As it stands now, I get only a CR2 icon next to the JPEG thumbnails.

Photoshop :: Images Open In Camera Raw 4.6, Not.

Apr 22, 2009

Since I downloaded & installed camera raw 4.6 to deal with raw images from my Nikon D90 I have had the following problem with Photoshop cs4 (on XP + SP3). Any images I open from within bridge or Picasa or directly from windows explorer get opened in Adobe Raw 4.6. From their I have to open image to get it into photoshop. This applies to all images, jpg, gif, tiff, psd etc.I've looked at the file associations & made sure photoshop is selected & I've tried open with & browsed to the photoshop directory & selecting the photoshop.exe file but always they open with the adobe raw. How do I get this set back to default so that all regular images open in photoshop & raw images open in camera raw? Lastly I tried deleting thus ressetting my prefferances, no good.

Photoshop :: All Images Open As Black!

Feb 2, 2006

No matter what the image, a sample from PS or a jpeg I know works just fine, they all open solid black! I'm using PS 5, but have upgrades to 7. For years I've used PS to alter images and so on, then suddenly, all images open black!

Just today i noticed that if I zoom out (over 200%) on the blackness, I can start to see my image. If I use the hand tool to move it around, each time the image goes past the border, it starts to braek up and disappear!

Photoshop :: CS3 Suddenly Won't Open Images

Dec 16, 2008

I've been using CS3 forever with few problems. All of the sudden, today it quit opening images. The program loads and opens without any problem, but I can't open any images. I have rebooted about 5 times and disconnected all plug-in equipment (ipod, printer, etc.) Can anyone tell me how to fix this??

I found a thread on this topic in the Mac forum, but it hasn't helped me. The problem there seemed to be images on a disk, but the images I'm trying to open are on my harddrive.

Photoshop :: Images Open On Top Of Menus

May 18, 2007

when I open images in photoshop, they open in the upper left corner on top of the file menus. I have to drag them into the work area one by one before I can do anything. How annoying!

I cannot figure out what is causing this. I did not change any settings (that I am aware of).

This happened once before about a year ago.... don't remember what I did to correct it then... I thought maybe I just did a reboot - but I've done that today to no avail.

I use dual monitors. All toolboxes are on the right monitor and images should (and usually do) open on the left - under the menu bar and just right of the Tool bar.

Photoshop :: CS6 Zoom Sometimes Affects All Open Images?

Jun 28, 2012

How to replicate this issue. This is on Win7 x64 with PS CS6. On an infrequent basis, when I zoom in on one open image, the same zoom magnification will be applied to all the other images I have open. When this happens and I have several image files open, you can imagine it's annoying to have to reset the view for all those open images.

It looks like the zoom inheritance sometimes happens when I drag a layer from a zoomed-in image onto another open image window that's at a different zoom magnification. But it doesn't happen every time.

If this is a "feature" how to avoid or disable it.

Photoshop :: Unable To Open Images In Bridge CS3

Apr 30, 2012

Re: Icon issues in Bridge CS3 and also with Photo Downloader that have never been there before.

So, these are the issues.   Just one of the folders that previously would show thumbnails now only shows DNG icons, and none will open in Photoshop to let me work on previous image.    Issue #2  - can't download images with Photo Downloaders - both my wife's Canon G9 only shows CR2 icons, and my Nikon D300 only shows NEF icons - neither of these issues had appeared before or been an issue.  Third issue.  None of my Bridge folders - even those with regular thumbnail immages- will open now - get a message that says words to the effect of Photoshop doesn't recognize this type of file.  Computer is a Mac, with OS 10.5.8

I recently tried to make more room on HD, so must have taken some critical files/commands out by accident.  I'm sure that in trying to correct things have made things even worse- as may be noticed  by the two snapshots I've attached.  The first is one from a library from my user section.  The second library image is from my hard drive.  Hopefully you and others aren't laughing or crying too much over what you see - redundantcy, etc!  All of my energies have focused on taking photos, obviously none to proper setup/use of organizing things on my Mac. I am most anxious to getting back to working with and saving images.
