View 7 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to import photos automatically into the organizer in elements 11, like picasa does?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently imported about 1500 photos to light-room, and when I click on a photo, it comes up more saturated than the image I took. And it's automatic to all images.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've been told that LR5 automatically corrects blown out highlights upon import, even with raw. Also, I was told that LR5 adds contrast to the file upon import, even with raw. The person that said this corrects for this by decreasing exposure by 2 steps and decreasing contrast by -33.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI use Lightroom 5.2 and Photoshop CC. I also use a number of publish services. If I use Lightroom to edit a photo that has previously been published, it will be marked automatically for republishing. If I use Photoshop to edit a photo that has been previously published (in this case a .PSD) and I select Edit Original to preserve layers in the file, Lightroom does not seem to recognize that the photo has been edited externally, and does not automatically tag the photo for republishing. It happens this wal with all of the installed publish services.
Is this normal behavior, or have I inadvertently changed a Lightroom setting that prevents this from happening the way it should? It's quite annoying, and I have convinced myself that previously it did not operate this way.
Import window does not open automatically as it did in LR3?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI did a quick screen capture, and as you can see, the picture on the right (saturated) is the "unedited" version in lightroom, and the picture on the left is the raw file opened (used IrfanView). As you can see, my original file is quite flat, and I like it that way (easeier to edit), but lightroom imports it, and when I click on it to develop, it adds saturation. If I wanted to make it look like the origianl, I have to manually bring down the saturation by ~ -30! Why is Lightroom auto adjusting my images?
I used a Canon 6D to take this picture.
If I go to Edit and choose "Select none", they are deselected for a a few brief seconds and then highlighted again. If I go to another photo, it leaves one of the previous photos selected and also selects the second photo. I've tried restartting Lightroom, restarting Windows 8.1, all to no avail.
View 2 Replies View RelatedRather than manually applying lens correction profiles to images by each time having to correct one image and then sync with the rest, I would like LR 5 to automatically apply the appropriate lens correction (either by EXIF info or "default" profile) when importing from the camera (card).
View 3 Replies View RelatedHow can I create a smart collection that automatically includes 4+ star photos created in the last month plus 5 star photos created within the last year? (i.e., only show best photos further back in time, but more recently, show a wider selection of photos)
Apparently, you can't include results of one SmartCollection in another SmartCollection (i.e., "Collection" criteria does not operate on SmartCollections).
I add five photos to a folder in Lightroom 4.3. The photos are in the specified folder in Windows. Import shows the five photos as imported but greyed out and semi-highlighted. Library does not show these five photos. What can I do?
View 10 Replies View RelatedLightroom 5.0 fails to detect memory card and open import dialog. This has always worked fine in Lightroom 4, 3,and 2. Same cards, same camera, same iMac using OS X 10.8.4. Manual importing works OK, card is detected just fine.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have created default settings by serial number for my Canon Mark III 1ds which include enabled lens profile corrections. I then created a user preset with these default corrections. Next I imported a folder of RAW images shot with this same Canon camera with the user profile checked as part of the import. When I switch to the Develop module and check the Lens Corrections panel, I see that although it is checked for each file, the actual make, model and profile are not populated.
Is this a bug or am I overlooking something on import? I understand that in LR 4, you can apply specific lens and camera calibration profiles to camera serial numbers (noise reduction etc too).

When I go to import photos into PS from lightroom, I am losing my edits. Not sure what the deal is. I checked the color profile and also proof set up and they seem to be right... [URL]...

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have Lightroom 5 installed on a Dell desktop running Windows 8. LR 5 won't import any files - they just don't appear in the LR browser. Photos already in the catalog appear as expected. I still have LR 4 installed and the same photos import as expected. The same photos are read as well in Photoshop CS6 and Elements 10. The latest video drivers are installed. As a result, LR 5 is unusable. How to make Lightroom 5 import photos?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy wife imported some images and saved them to an external hard drive. I then took the hard drive with me on an air force deployment to the desert. The photos are still on the memory card, is there a way to reimport them and save them to the desktop? Right now they show up darkend and she cannot check the box to import.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am unable to import photos into Lightoom 4.4 on Macbook Pro running on Mountain Lion. I tired importing photos directly from the sdcard, both via the inbuild reader & and external USB reader. Import fails in both cases. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been having problems with Lightroom 4.4 and importing photos from an external hard drive. I've worked with this configuration for years with no problem. I've been working with 4.4 since it was released as an RC, no issues. It started to be very slow to move into the import modual/function. Then it would hang every time and no sources for import would come up and the program would just stop and I'd get the "not responding" message. I thought it might be a corrupt catalog so I tried one of my backup catalogs, I tried different catalogs all together. I deleted the preference file and that seemed to be the beginning of the end for my current installation. When I tried to open Lightroom (via the catalog file) after deleteting the preference file it was like Lightroom couldn't/wouldn't rewrite the file and open. It would hang. Eventually I did get it to open up but I had to walk away and let it work on opening for a good 10 minutes. It finally came up but was too slow to work with. I gave up and decided to uninstall it and download and install again. It is still wonky and slow and will not import photos at all. I know it is difficult to diagnose something like this but I'm at my wits end. I've used Lightroom since the very beginning and I've come to be quite dependant on it. I just don't even know where to look to figure this out. I've browsed around for import problems but haven't found a whole lot of information or examples. Oh I should mention I tried creating a new empty catalog on my internal hard drive in case the problem somehow was with the external drive but that isn't the case. Actually I have catalogs on a few different external drives. It doesn't matter where the photos are, Lightroom is not happy at the moment. It barely responds to any input and crashes if I try to import photos. I also uninstalled and disabled my Carbonite because I know that can cause problems with some programs and I am desperate to get Lightroom going again.
