I am running CS5.1 and suddenly Illustrator gets hung up on opening a particular file every time I launch. I do want to open this file, but since I just get the spinning rainbow every time I do - I'm guessing it's corrupt now - I've tried to work on other files. Any other file launches fine, but then it quickly tries to open this corrupt file too, hanging up the program until I force quit.

This setting seems to be absent in CS5.
Is there any way to get both apps to launch simultaneously?
Recently Photoshop CS6 has started automatically opening up to a certain photo every time I launch it. I'd like to stop this behavior.
I am on a MacPro running Mt. Lion, all sw is up to date.
There are 4 jpgs that launch automatically when I launch photoshop PS6. They are beinf stored somewhere else and have been renamed by the system. On a new MacPro 3.2 Quad, running 10.7.5.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy job is making PDFs "ready for print" - checking colours, making sure overprint is on where needed, adding trapping where needed, etc. After I'm done doing this, I add a logo outside of the printable area as proof that I have checked the file and it's OK for print and the date. This is always on the same spot: 5mm left from the left edge of the design and 5mm below the lower edge.
Right now, I have to keep the Illustrator file with the logo/date open at all times, go there, copy the image, go back to the design I was working on, paste it and enter the values manually to be sure it's in the right place (and then edit the date, of course).
It's time consuming and I was wondering if there's a way to make Illustrator place the logo and date on a pre-determined location without having to keep the file open. I can't just make an action that "places" the file there because then, I can't edit the date anymore.
Is there a way of automatically exporting each layer of an Illustrator file into PNG files, with the PNG files taking the name of their layer in the Illustrator file?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to export with artboard. Illustrator automatically adds a number to my original file name. It won't even let me replace the old file. It is extremely annoying and makes flow with other programs really hard because they can't auto update, since the file name changes. When you have multiple files, you can't be manually renaming all the time.

- restarted my machine
- updated the Illustrator CC
- restarted application deleting preferences
- deleted my Wacom drivers (even though they were up to date)
- I do not have any 3rd party drivers
I have a client that installed CS6 Productiom Premium with a volume license on multiple Mac Pros and is saying that Illustrator hangs upon launch, meaning, it will take 1-2 minutes to launch the program. Out of all the computers he has installed the software with, one does not have an issue with start-up and launches almost immediately. He is currently looking on his end what is different on that machine compared to the others.
I have walked him through the steps in deleting his Font cache and resetting his preferences and he still reports a hang-up on launch.
He has Mac Pros with Lion on them.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just updated Illustrator CC to v17.1 and now it will no longer launch.There is a bouncing icon in the dock for about a second and then no activity, no warnings or errors.My mac is quite old (MacPro5.1 Quad-core running osx 10.6.8) which may well be the problem.Never the less Illustrator 17.0 ran perfectly well prior to the update.
Uninstalling Illustrator 17.1 and reinstalling v17.0 works.If Illustrator is allowed to update as recommended it no longer launches.Is there something in the update that prevents my older spec mac from running it?
When I try to launch Illustrator I get the message "To open 'Adobe Illustrator CS6,' you need a Java SE 6 runtime. Would you like to install one now?" When I click "install" it goes through a downloading process but then I don't get any download (that I can find) and nothing has changed and I still can't launch Illustrator. Is it possible in Lightroom to automatically append/prepend directory names in the file path into the file name itself? Example:

If this is not natively possible within Lightroom, any plug-in that delivers this functionality?
I used to be able to just open any image and my copyright info would be inserted into the file data. I guess it was a droplet, "when the file is opened or created then add file info from a xmp file". I still have the xmp file with all the data in but i am unsure how to implement it being automatically opened and added to the file when i create a new one? I thought i could handle it, i assume its a droplet of some sort.

if i need to rename or change anything in the iproperties of ipt, im doing it from the vault.my problem is that, when i change something in iproperties of an ipt thru vault, i have to open the idw to update it.
as most of the iproperties in ipt shows in the idw.
its easy to change the properties in vault. but its deleting its purpose if i have to each idw to make sure i have the updated idw.is there a code where i can open all idw and save the same file and checking to the vault automatically?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to delete an AutoRecovery file (.psb) in CS6, it keeps opening on launch. I can't find it on my computer to save my life. I have tried saving the file in various places to see if it takes care of it and it does not. Apparently, it is supposed to be in:
Mac HD/users/me/library/application support/Adobe/Photoshop CS6/Autorecovery
There is not an AutoRecovery folder or .psb file anywhere to be seen in the Photoshop or Adobe library folders, and I have looked everywhere. I have a brand new imac w/ OS x. I have tried searching everywhere for the file and folder, even in places that make no sense. I have searched my entire computer, even visually looking in every folder.
I have read a few message boards and apparently the file should be where it is supposed to be (file path above) and deleting it will solve this issue, but I cannot find it.
My illustrator CC crashes right after it launches on the MAIN profile of my macbook pro. It launches fine in the guest profile.

Adobe Illustrator was working fine on my MacBook Pro. That is in the shop being fixed, meanwhile I have a loaner computer which is what the specs are above. All my Adobe apps work, except for Illustrator. When I launch it, it loads everything but just as the main menu across the top loads I get an error stating:
Configuration error uninstall and reinstall the product.
Having issue of illustrator failing to launch. Gets as far as Initialising Fonts 90% then freezes. Reinstalling didn't resolve the problem, also made sure it was updated as much as possible. (CS5 on Mac OS X 10.7.4)

I am unable to get this code to launch the File Save As Command. I Think I have the sytax correct, because if I Replace "AppFileSaveAsCmd" with a different command name (i.e. "AppFileNewCmd") it works as expected. I have tried this with "AppFileSaveCmd" and "AppFileSaveCopyAsCmd" and both have also failed. It seems any kind of save command wont work... I am trying to creat a rule that will fire on "New Document" iTrigger that will Force a user to save the newly created assembly document in preperation for further iLogic rules that depent on the assembly Filename and path. According to Julieanne you hit ctrl-s so that PS saves the HDR image and then it should show up in Lightroom. What I have found is that hitting crtrl-s saves it as a PSD file which does automatically show up in Lightroom, however Lightroom but can't read it. If I do a save-as, and select TIFF as the extension Lightroom will not automatically see the TIFF file. I have to synchronize the folder in order to have Lightroom import it.
Why would Lightroom automatically see a PSD file (that is of no use) and not see the TIFF file?
Is there a setting in PS that will change the preferences to save as a TIFF instead of a PSD file?
