Creative Cloud Illustrator will not launch on my Mac running 10.6.8. InDesign & Photoshop work fine. But even after multiple uninstalls and reinstalls, the illustrator icon simply bounces and stops, failing to launch the application.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Adobe CC on a Mac 10.6.8. Illustrator has just stopped launching. It bounces a few times, then stops. No error message. I have:
- restarted my machine
- updated the Illustrator CC
- restarted application deleting preferences
- deleted my Wacom drivers (even though they were up to date)
- I do not have any 3rd party drivers
I have a client that installed CS6 Productiom Premium with a volume license on multiple Mac Pros and is saying that Illustrator hangs upon launch, meaning, it will take 1-2 minutes to launch the program. Out of all the computers he has installed the software with, one does not have an issue with start-up and launches almost immediately. He is currently looking on his end what is different on that machine compared to the others.
I have walked him through the steps in deleting his Font cache and resetting his preferences and he still reports a hang-up on launch.
He has Mac Pros with Lion on them.
We have heard from few users that there is a crash on launch after the latest Illustrator update 17.0.1 on WINDOWS. We need to debug this issue and to isolate this. Any user who is encountering this on windows can join the connect session: [URL]
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just updated Illustrator CC to v17.1 and now it will no longer launch.There is a bouncing icon in the dock for about a second and then no activity, no warnings or errors.My mac is quite old (MacPro5.1 Quad-core running osx 10.6.8) which may well be the problem.Never the less Illustrator 17.0 ran perfectly well prior to the update.
Uninstalling Illustrator 17.1 and reinstalling v17.0 works.If Illustrator is allowed to update as recommended it no longer launches.Is there something in the update that prevents my older spec mac from running it?
I am running CS5.1 and suddenly Illustrator gets hung up on opening a particular file every time I launch. I do want to open this file, but since I just get the spinning rainbow every time I do - I'm guessing it's corrupt now - I've tried to work on other files. Any other file launches fine, but then it quickly tries to open this corrupt file too, hanging up the program until I force quit.

When I click "install" it goes through a downloading process but then I don't get any download (that I can find) and nothing has changed and I still can't launch Illustrator. Adobe Illustrator was working fine on my MacBook Pro. That is in the shop being fixed, meanwhile I have a loaner computer which is what the specs are above. All my Adobe apps work, except for Illustrator. When I launch it, it loads everything but just as the main menu across the top loads I get an error stating:
Configuration error uninstall and reinstall the product.
Having issue of illustrator failing to launch. Gets as far as Initialising Fonts 90% then freezes. Reinstalling didn't resolve the problem, also made sure it was updated as much as possible. (CS5 on Mac OS X 10.7.4)

I am trying to download it now and keep getting an error that says that Safari can't open the specified address because OS-X does not recognize Internet addresses beginning with "aam:". I have CS2 and CS3 still installed. I installed it as Administrator, per the instructions, but it didn't seem to matter. I do everything as the Admin anyways. I looked for those 3 files mentioned in the error, but they are nowhere to be found and I have system files visible. I've not called tech support yet, hoping to avoid that. I had one of 3 Transcend 1G cards result in complete failure, loosing about 400 pictures of Costa Rica birds. Neither the camera nor computer would recognize card after the shoot. Disk Doctors disassembled the card and hooked it up to test modules and ran multiple 5-6 hour tests to try to reconstruct data. Nothing worked as they said all the files were corrupted. This is the one disk that I shot until full with a Nikon D40X camera. Card was formated before use. I reviewed pictures as I shot and all seemed right.
They theorize that perhaps the card and camera did not communicate, but I shot at most only a couple of RAW format pictures over the capacity, so to me that does not seem logical it would corrupt everything. But not an expert either.
The technician said not to fill up the card and use smaller cards so you don't have all the shots in the same basket.
I am trying to install the 11.0.1 update, and all I get is a generic error "The Update Failed" with no details and no log entry. I have AV off, plenty of disk space, applications are closed, and all the other basics checked. Whether I download the update directly or use adobe updater, no go.
I'm using Vista 64-bit.
I'm trying to install Adobe Photoshop CS5 on my laptop and every time, after installing the product and entering the serial number, the process fails and tells me 'We are unable to start your subscription for Adobe Photoshop CS5 Subscription Edition.'
It then asks me to relaunch the product and do the installation process again. I have tried this numerous times and it keeps saying the same thing.
Windows 7 OS, On a new laptop I loaded my trusty Creative Suite2, it failed to open, after I ran as administrator and manually entered the folder location C:progra~2adobe, CS2 loaded and runs fine. After a Motherboard failure and partial HD failure I'm attempting to rebuild and replace lost software.
I had originally loaded the boxed version of Video Studio 11 Plus and later did an upgrade to Video Studio Pro X2 via a download from Corel...previous system was XP.
From what I've read it appears that I will need to: Reload the Boxed version of VS 11Plus, and then download the upgrade version of VS Pro X2 from Corel's website. I can view my serial number of the VS Pro X2 on Corel's website from when it was registered. The new OS on this computer is Windows 7 64Bit. Does this seem feasible, or is there perhaps a better way.
Also it appears some of my VS Database files are still recoverable from the old HD. Should I be able to import them into the new?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI frequently use ALT+TAB or CTRL+TAB to toggle between drawings open in one AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 session. It usually works great, until it doesn't. It will tease me by showing the desired drawing (for 3-30 seconds, without a command prompt) and then switch back to the one I wanted to leave. Once this problem occurs I use the QuickView button at the bottom of the screen to force the change. The appropriate drawing will be displayed but it still takes a while for the command prompt to appear (3-30 seconds). This problem is not drawing specific or session specific, and it cannot be predicted or reproduced on command. Is this a known issue or is my AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 installation compromised somehow?
