The inital thread was created because Adobe Illustrator from CS6, downloaded via the Creative Cloud, quits unexpectedly upon launch everytime. However, all of the other desktop apps I downloaded work perfectly.
I tried every step suggested in the thread, however none of the solutions worked. I restarted my computer afterwards and it still does not work.
I just upgraded to Lion, and now my Illustrator crashes before it opens. I tried deleting the prefs files, but no luck.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery time I launch Paint Shop Pro X5 my recent file list is empty. I thought the program was supposed to remember the last four images that were opened. I then have to select File > Open but now the program defaults to a folder called My Pictures. I store my images in my own folder elsewhere. I would like to set my folder to be the default folder. I have to navigate to my folder ever time I launch the tool. If I go to File > Preferences, I do not see a place where I can change the setting.

Photoshop CS6 and Illustrator CS6 crash unexpectedly when trying to open a file. I'm on OSX 10.6.8. I installed the software through Creative Cloud. I tried deleting preferences and it still doesn't work. Here is the error details.

Illustrator CC will not launch on my mac. I've uninstalled and did a complete download and re-install and it still does not launch. I don't even get to the point where I get an error message.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have Adobe CC on a Mac 10.6.8. Illustrator has just stopped launching. It bounces a few times, then stops. No error message. I have:
- restarted my machine
- updated the Illustrator CC
- restarted application deleting preferences
- deleted my Wacom drivers (even though they were up to date)
- I do not have any 3rd party drivers
I have a client that installed CS6 Productiom Premium with a volume license on multiple Mac Pros and is saying that Illustrator hangs upon launch, meaning, it will take 1-2 minutes to launch the program. Out of all the computers he has installed the software with, one does not have an issue with start-up and launches almost immediately. He is currently looking on his end what is different on that machine compared to the others.
I have walked him through the steps in deleting his Font cache and resetting his preferences and he still reports a hang-up on launch.
He has Mac Pros with Lion on them.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just updated Illustrator CC to v17.1 and now it will no longer launch.There is a bouncing icon in the dock for about a second and then no activity, no warnings or errors.My mac is quite old (MacPro5.1 Quad-core running osx 10.6.8) which may well be the problem.Never the less Illustrator 17.0 ran perfectly well prior to the update.
Uninstalling Illustrator 17.1 and reinstalling v17.0 works.If Illustrator is allowed to update as recommended it no longer launches.Is there something in the update that prevents my older spec mac from running it?
I am running CS5.1 and suddenly Illustrator gets hung up on opening a particular file every time I launch. I do want to open this file, but since I just get the spinning rainbow every time I do - I'm guessing it's corrupt now - I've tried to work on other files. Any other file launches fine, but then it quickly tries to open this corrupt file too, hanging up the program until I force quit.

When I click "install" it goes through a downloading process but then I don't get any download (that I can find) and nothing has changed and I still can't launch Illustrator. Adobe Illustrator was working fine on my MacBook Pro. That is in the shop being fixed, meanwhile I have a loaner computer which is what the specs are above. All my Adobe apps work, except for Illustrator. When I launch it, it loads everything but just as the main menu across the top loads I get an error stating:
Configuration error uninstall and reinstall the product.
Having issue of illustrator failing to launch. Gets as far as Initialising Fonts 90% then freezes. Reinstalling didn't resolve the problem, also made sure it was updated as much as possible. (CS5 on Mac OS X 10.7.4)

Now, suddenly, I can't open it. When I try, the loading splash screen appears and goes through all the things it's loading, as usual. But as soon as it's finished loading, it automatically quits on its own.

I just upgraded my iMac (3.06 GHz i3 with 8 GB RAM) to OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2). Tonight I opened Photoshop CS5 for the first time since the OS X upgrade and created a new document (8.5x11 grayscale, 300dpi). Everything was fine until I saved the document, then "saved as" under a different filename. When I tried to re-open the original document, Photoshop immediately quit and continued to quit every time I tried to open the original document. I concluded that the document had gotten corrupted and started over, recreating the document from scratch; but exactly the same thing happened again. Once I saved the original document under a different name, Photoshop immediately quit every time I tried to reopen either the original document or the "saved as" version.
