View 5 RepliesI have encountered a problem when attempting to save my DWG. A message appears quickly then the program closes, or the program will just instantly close when I hit save. I am using Cad 2012 on a macbook pro. see the attached file that is a screenshot of the pop-up that I receive.

1. Save As -> PDF
2. File -> Scripts -> SaveDocsAsPDF
But I have a case where I need to save document through my plugin. Can we save the currently open document as a PDF file using the CS6 SDK ?
I can't get my document to save a PDF with the bleed area, it shows the cropmarks but not bleed area. Also in my Object tab I do not have the option of Crop area.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently u[graded from a very old Illustrator version to CS6 and I noticed the crop tool is missing. It used to be really easy in the old version to drag the crop tool around the area in question and crop marks would be generated automatically. Then I could save and print just that area only. Now this tool is gone and I am having trouble with finding a way to define the area I want to save or print. When i generate crop marks and then save, all i get is a file with plenty of white around it that also shows the crop marks....

I've got an Intel Core Processor @ 2.00GHZ and 8.00GB RAM, I don't have any other program open at the same time so I don't know why this keeps happening.
I just upgraded to Lion, and now my Illustrator crashes before it opens. I tried deleting the prefs files, but no luck.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there any chance to assign values to an artboard?
I've experimented with “tags”, but they only work for pageItems. (if the item which includes the stored data is deleted, the data is also deleted)
It is simple data like v1=true, v2=false, … I want to assign. And it needs to be saved within the illustrator document.
The inital thread was created because Adobe Illustrator from CS6, downloaded via the Creative Cloud, quits unexpectedly upon launch everytime. However, all of the other desktop apps I downloaded work perfectly.
I tried every step suggested in the thread, however none of the solutions worked. I restarted my computer afterwards and it still does not work.
I inadvertently saved a document as a jpg and wondered if there is any way I can convert it to a document file that is handled more easily with a file that is other than a photo file?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to save a custom artboard setup with a custom document profile in illustrator cs5? I do technical illustrations and our page size is odd (7.19 x 8.96. It the size that our Framemaker layout is set to.). I have a custom document profile that I use, but I use the grids all the time so that my callouts are spaced out evenly around the art. I would like to have a way to set the artboard up so that the grid will align to the center of the artboard everytime I turn them on. Right now they always start from the top left and when I center art in the center of the page, the grid spacing isn't the same on each side of the art. I just want to be able to open my document profile, turn on my grids, have them start from the center, and I can get down to business. As it is now I have to go into my artboard settings and manually adjust the grid to the center. Small annoyance, but it still annoys me. I have tried to save it a few different ways, but nothing has worked. Maybe there just isn't a way.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis was very easy to do in earlier versions of Illustrator, but now it seems like the only option is to make a separate artboard for each page tile!
View 1 Replies View RelatedOriginal file was generated in Adobe InDesign CS6 as (16) 8.5" x 11" - exported this to high res print ready PDF. I need to manually paginate this 16 page document to 11" x 17" printer spreads so I can set up addressing with XMPie.Placed PDFs into InDesign CC (vsn 9.2) on (8) 11" x 17" sheets - saved as a new file name but it won't save - it looks like it's processing for a minute, then just stops and doesn't save.
Made an 8 page 11" x 17" template without placing the PDF and saved it - and it saved successfully. Once I place the PDFs - and try to save or save as - it does the same thing, processes for a moment before stopping and not successfully saving (the * is still next to the name at the top of the document bar, and if I close it asks me if I want to save changes.)I'm on a Mac, OS/X 10.8.5, I've restarted the machine, and tried again and ended up with the same issue.
During the Auto-backup, the document failed to save in the background.
I can't do anything about it.If I try to close the document, it'll prompt me to save it, leading to the same failure.
So I can only quit CorelDraw without saving the document. And if I reopen the same file, same thing happens. So I end up recreating everything.
It only happen to the particular file and not others.
I need to save a CS6 document to open in CS5.5.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a working document, part of which should become a template for similar docs.
However the part that should become a template is not all that is in the document.
I guess I can turn off the eyeball of all layers or objects not meant to be part of the template but then the template will have all the extra junk in it (turned off).
Is there a better way than saving a copy of the doc, opening it and deleting all that is not meant to be template, then resave as template?
My copy of PhotoShop has worked fine ever since I've had it
Now, suddenly, I can't open it. When I try, the loading splash screen appears and goes through all the things it's loading, as usual. But as soon as it's finished loading, it automatically quits on its own.
I have a document which has has a non-square pixel ratio thus requires pixel aspect ratio correction to be turned on to view the image correctly.
I want to save it as a JPEG for use online however I cant find an option anywhere to make the saved file have the corrected aspect ratio.
Essentially when I save the file as a JPEG (or any end format) the image is squished. How can I save the file not squished? (i.e. burn in the ratio correction)
If I uncheck the 'maximum compatibility' mode, the file size is 48.7MB. If the 'maximum compatibility' is checked, then it cannot save the document at all giving me an error message about it being larger than 2 GB.
I need to send this file into a printer and I cannot guarantee what version of photshop they are using, so I want maximum compatibility to make sure they can open it.
I'm working on a large tradeshow booth design. It was suggested that if my computer can handle it, to work at scale (120 " X 90") at 150dpi. So I am.
I am nearly finished designing and now Photoshop 7 is giving me an error:
"Cannot save file...the document size exceeds 2G." Or words to that effect.
The document window tells me that the file is 970 MB, less than a Gig.
I've purged all hidden layers to reduce the overall files size. No go.
I removed the last image I had in the design, which used outer glow effect, and now the file will save.
I purchased Designer Pro 9 about a month ago. I have tried about 30 times, no kidding, to change the US Letter template from Arial 10 to Verdana 12. It happened again this morning and I've decided to finally come to the forum and find out what's going on.
Here's what happens: I open US Letter and make the changes, then choose Save Template. When I reopen it, it's still Arial 10. Makes no difference if I choose "Use as default template" or not. I even tried saving it as a template with a different name, Verdana 12, but it still opens as Arial 10.
As a test, I opened Designer 6, chose New, US Letter, and changed the font to Brussels 12. I then selected Save Template, saved it as Brussels 12, and closed out. Then I chose File/New/Brussels 12. It opened as a letter template with Brussels 12 point. That's the procedure I used years ago to change US Letter to Verdana 12 in Designer 6, and so the Save Template function still works in that version.
Because nothing I've tried seems to work, I am wondering whether any template I create will be saved in 9.
photoshop cs6 won't stop quitting.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI Have to force quit Photoshop CS5 in order to get it to quit at all? Then it takes quit azwhile to quit after which a user report comes up to be sent in to Adobe.
I have tried opening it resetting the prefs file, to no avail.
I just upgraded my iMac (3.06 GHz i3 with 8 GB RAM) to OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2). Tonight I opened Photoshop CS5 for the first time since the OS X upgrade and created a new document (8.5x11 grayscale, 300dpi). Everything was fine until I saved the document, then "saved as" under a different filename. When I tried to re-open the original document, Photoshop immediately quit and continued to quit every time I tried to open the original document. I concluded that the document had gotten corrupted and started over, recreating the document from scratch; but exactly the same thing happened again. Once I saved the original document under a different name, Photoshop immediately quit every time I tried to reopen either the original document or the "saved as" version.

View 6 Replies View RelatedBasically I am making a new pattern of stars, so I created a 1000 by 1000 document, filled with black, added noise, then added an adjustment layer to thin out the noise and make it look like stars in space. It looks great!
How to save it without the effect changing. I tried flattening the image, and it messed up how I wanted it to look. I tried merging visible, that didn't work. I tried just saving it as a PNG, like I do with all my projects, but that didn't work. And defining a pattern did the exact same thing. I just want to have what I physically see on the screen save as is so I can use it with other things.
