Photoshop :: Couldn't Save / Document Is Bigger Than 2 Gigabytes
Sep 9, 2013
If I uncheck the 'maximum compatibility' mode, the file size is 48.7MB. If the 'maximum compatibility' is checked, then it cannot save the document at all giving me an error message about it being larger than 2 GB.
I need to send this file into a printer and I cannot guarantee what version of photshop they are using, so I want maximum compatibility to make sure they can open it.
So, I tried opening this document that was originally created on a Mac. I'm running photoshop on PC (windows 8, CS6). I keep getting this error message on many of the docs that my friend created on his mac.
"Could not complete your request because it is not a valid photoshop document"..I've checked the document extensions.
Saving a Photoshop file as a PDF for emailing to someone else has always been complicated by the number of choices to be made, and now it's become impossible. Every time I try it now, I get this message, and I have to send a jpeg instead. I've tried different files, trashed the PS prefs, tried different settings in the dialog box that pops up after I hit "save", but it is no longer possible to save a PS file as a PDF. Every single file I try to save has "a program error", for some reason. how to save a PS file as a PDF.
I have recently purchased a new desktop under WIN 7 as well as Adobe Creative Suite CS6.My first internal hard disk is 2 TB, the second one installed is from my old PC, 250 GB.
I am getting this error when trying to save a file over an existing file using the “Save” command. The message is wrong, because the filename IS valid. This error is persistent. This error does not occur when doing the same action on my second internal hard disk. This error happens on files larger than about 1MB in weight.
What happens is that the original file over which I try to do the ”Save” command gets corrupted and lost.If I don't use the “Save as” command to save my work under a different name, my work is lost. The same problem occurs with both PS CS6 versions, 64 Bit and 32 Bit.
We were using Photoshop CS3 and decided to upgrade to version CS6. However, several times, to save images and if they are in network storage or servers, the message that you can not save them, because of a program error.
I inadvertently saved a document as a jpg and wondered if there is any way I can convert it to a document file that is handled more easily with a file that is other than a photo file?
Temp. Drive Full, File Copy Error?I got this error in CDR XIII. I have checked my Temp Drive Folder in C: I have sufficient space in hard drive but this error occuring again & again & I could not save my hard working graphic files.
Original file was generated in Adobe InDesign CS6 as (16) 8.5" x 11" - exported this to high res print ready PDF. I need to manually paginate this 16 page document to 11" x 17" printer spreads so I can set up addressing with XMPie.Placed PDFs into InDesign CC (vsn 9.2) on (8) 11" x 17" sheets - saved as a new file name but it won't save - it looks like it's processing for a minute, then just stops and doesn't save.
Made an 8 page 11" x 17" template without placing the PDF and saved it - and it saved successfully. Once I place the PDFs - and try to save or save as - it does the same thing, processes for a moment before stopping and not successfully saving (the * is still next to the name at the top of the document bar, and if I close it asks me if I want to save changes.)I'm on a Mac, OS/X 10.8.5, I've restarted the machine, and tried again and ended up with the same issue.
I have a document which has has a non-square pixel ratio thus requires pixel aspect ratio correction to be turned on to view the image correctly.
I want to save it as a JPEG for use online however I cant find an option anywhere to make the saved file have the corrected aspect ratio.
Essentially when I save the file as a JPEG (or any end format) the image is squished. How can I save the file not squished? (i.e. burn in the ratio correction)
Basically I am making a new pattern of stars, so I created a 1000 by 1000 document, filled with black, added noise, then added an adjustment layer to thin out the noise and make it look like stars in space. It looks great!
How to save it without the effect changing. I tried flattening the image, and it messed up how I wanted it to look. I tried merging visible, that didn't work. I tried just saving it as a PNG, like I do with all my projects, but that didn't work. And defining a pattern did the exact same thing. I just want to have what I physically see on the screen save as is so I can use it with other things.
I am running cs6 on both PC and Mac. On my pc if I save a Photoshop file on it as a save as, it does not open the file immediately. I have to close the original file, find the file then open it. Very time consuming and also confusing if you are working fast. On my Mac if i save a document in Photoshop, doing a save as, it saves the doc, and opens it right there and you just continue to work.
I use Photoshop to design interfaces and then cut down the graphics, by using the rectangular marquee tool and selecting the area that I want to save, copy-merged and then paste into a new document, of the correct canvas size according to the selection area, and then save for web..I end up with dozens of open windows all "Untitled" something, unsaved.
All I want is being able to select an area in my document using the marquee tool and then select from File a save function like "Save selection for web and devices...".
Perhapse this option could be in the "Save for web and devices.." dialog, where you could select from a dropdown the following: "Entire document" (default) "The entire selected area" "Trimmed down selected area"
I have a working document, part of which should become a template for similar docs.
However the part that should become a template is not all that is in the document.
I guess I can turn off the eyeball of all layers or objects not meant to be part of the template but then the template will have all the extra junk in it (turned off).
Is there a better way than saving a copy of the doc, opening it and deleting all that is not meant to be template, then resave as template?
I can't get my document to save a PDF with the bleed area, it shows the cropmarks but not bleed area. Also in my Object tab I do not have the option of Crop area.
I purchased Designer Pro 9 about a month ago. I have tried about 30 times, no kidding, to change the US Letter template from Arial 10 to Verdana 12. It happened again this morning and I've decided to finally come to the forum and find out what's going on.
Here's what happens: I open US Letter and make the changes, then choose Save Template. When I reopen it, it's still Arial 10. Makes no difference if I choose "Use as default template" or not. I even tried saving it as a template with a different name, Verdana 12, but it still opens as Arial 10.
As a test, I opened Designer 6, chose New, US Letter, and changed the font to Brussels 12. I then selected Save Template, saved it as Brussels 12, and closed out. Then I chose File/New/Brussels 12. It opened as a letter template with Brussels 12 point. That's the procedure I used years ago to change US Letter to Verdana 12 in Designer 6, and so the Save Template function still works in that version.
Because nothing I've tried seems to work, I am wondering whether any template I create will be saved in 9.
I recently u[graded from a very old Illustrator version to CS6 and I noticed the crop tool is missing. It used to be really easy in the old version to drag the crop tool around the area in question and crop marks would be generated automatically. Then I could save and print just that area only. Now this tool is gone and I am having trouble with finding a way to define the area I want to save or print. When i generate crop marks and then save, all i get is a file with plenty of white around it that also shows the crop marks....
I am working on a plugin application, in that saving Image files on a specific location by using JSX file.I have done with that but it works only with local drive.I want to save that file on my Network Share by using JSX.
For the last few weeks everytime I'm working on a document in illustrator cs6 that includes paths, I go to save it and it freezes, I try and copy it and it freezes.
I've got an Intel Core Processor @ 2.00GHZ and 8.00GB RAM, I don't have any other program open at the same time so I don't know why this keeps happening.
I have a problem. I use AutoCAD 2010. I want to know the use click save or discard button when close the document. I know the "Saved" Property of AcadDocument can tell me the result. However, I could not use the AcadDocument Class. Because there is another plug-in, when i use the com class just like AcadDocument , it will tell some error.so i only can use .net Class just like Document. Is there any Proprty to get it ?
in fact didn't know I had the time to be either.Creative Cloud is a great idea, pity it has been used to release under cooked software. The upgrade to CC has cost my department hours and hours of chargeable/billable time.URL....
