Photoshop :: Why Couldn't Save Images In Network Because Of Program Error In CS6
Oct 8, 2012
We were using Photoshop CS3 and decided to upgrade to version CS6. However, several times, to save images and if they are in network storage or servers, the message that you can not save them, because of a program error.
Saving a Photoshop file as a PDF for emailing to someone else has always been complicated by the number of choices to be made, and now it's become impossible. Every time I try it now, I get this message, and I have to send a jpeg instead. I've tried different files, trashed the PS prefs, tried different settings in the dialog box that pops up after I hit "save", but it is no longer possible to save a PS file as a PDF. Every single file I try to save has "a program error", for some reason. how to save a PS file as a PDF.
I have a particular set of images that I am editing and then trying to save as RGB JPEGs. I keep getting the message 'could not complete your request because of program error'. I am working on Photoshop CS2 on Windows XP Professional. The files will save as TIFFs and PSD files but not JPEGs. Photoshop will save everything else but not these particular images.
I have used Photoshop elements 5.0 for years. Mainly I use it for cropping, a small amount of touch up. Recently when I try to save a picture as a jpeg the message comes up "could not complete your request because of a program error. I can save as i tiff. and other formats bu t not jpeg. So I uninstalled 5.0 and reinstalled and the same thing happens.
We're having an issue with saving files using Photoshop CS6. Several of our users are unable to save, specifically on our server. They all get the "Could not save because of a program error" message. It doesn't seem to happen on the computers running Lion, but most of the people running Snow Leopard have the problem.
We've tried resetting the preferences, repairing permissions, etc. I read somewhere about unchecking the "ask before saving a layered tiff" button, but none of them seem to solve the problem.
I use Photoshop daily (7.0). Just recently, I tried to save a photo and got the message "could not save because of a program error". After getting the message again tonight, I re-installed Photoshop on a NEW computer, (went from Windows 7 to Windows 8), transferred my images and got the same message. The strange part about this is that only some of my photos can't be saved - even those taken the same day. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.
Details: - they can't be saved in any format. I tried jpeg, tiff, png, etc. Same message for all. - they can't be saved externally. I tried to transfer them to an external drive and got the same message. - I tried uploading it to an online editing site and renaming it, then re-opening it in photoshop. same message.
I'm trying to save a PSD to PDF however each time an error message comes up- something about a program error- I have tried closing and restarting Photoshop - converting the color destination in the PDF dialogue box but don't seem to be making headway.
Running Photoshop CS3 under Windows Vista I could not save as PDF due to a "program error" (whatever that is).Looked in C:UsersadminAppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS3Adobe Photoshop CS3 SettingsFile PSErrorLog.txt contained the message:2009:07:21 15:31:54 : ....sourcesPDFUtilities.cpp : 2240 : REQUIRE failedSolution:Close PhotoshopRename Adobe Photoshop CS3 Prefs.psp to Adobe Photoshop CS3 Prefs-old.pspRestart Photoshop
Just ran the CS3 patch and now files are not saving. Getting a "Program Error" when attempting to Save file. Any workarounds? Would like to Save what I have been working on, including layers and masks.
When attempting to save an RGB or CMYK file larger than 100M as a jpeg, an error message appears stating "Could not save a copy as C:(file name) because of a program error". Two questions:
1. Will resetting my prefences affect this error? If I try resetting my preferences, will my custom color swatches and patterns be erased?
Everytime I try to save as a PDF I get a message telling me that it could not save as "title.PDF" because of a program error. I'm using Photoshop Elements 10.
I've loaded and reinstalled photoshop elements 3 times. I can not save any files. all i get is cannot save file do to program error message' this is a brand new product with a program error and they want me to pay them to fix there problem. it ain't right.
My husband and I are "classic" adobe users of element 5.0. Has always worked great except recently can't save pictures... only comes up saying "can not complete your request because of a program error"
I get the following error message"The catalog could not be opened because it is currently in use by another program" This happened to me before and your online chat person wlked me throught the sets of suttin down a few component of Photoshop that were running in the background. I need that again
I currently run Windows 7 and have Photoshop Elements 5. When I edit a photo it will not let me save it and comes up with a message "Cannot save due to program error". O have tried restarting the computer, reinstalling PE5, saving in a different location, Save As and NOTHING has worked.
Every-time I try either of these I get windows cannot locate Adobe_lightroom_x64.msi...I copied that file from the installation but lightroom refuses to use it!I tried deleting all the fold files for lightroom and still couldn't remove the program!!!
I'm photographer and this problem is killing me! I really need this program working!I tried disabling my antivirus real time protection(avira) and tried some of the forum methods but nothing still works! I'm using administrator for installing and set permissions correctly nothing works!
What's the best way to wipe a previous adobe installation? When I try to uninstall I get error 1714. Lightroom 3.6 installs fines. If I try to install regular lightroom 4, it only immediately converts to lightroom 4.1 installation?!??!?! I already converted my catalog folder to lightroom 4...
I have recently purchased a new desktop under WIN 7 as well as Adobe Creative Suite CS6.My first internal hard disk is 2 TB, the second one installed is from my old PC, 250 GB.
I am getting this error when trying to save a file over an existing file using the “Save” command. The message is wrong, because the filename IS valid. This error is persistent. This error does not occur when doing the same action on my second internal hard disk. This error happens on files larger than about 1MB in weight.
What happens is that the original file over which I try to do the ”Save” command gets corrupted and lost.If I don't use the “Save as” command to save my work under a different name, my work is lost. The same problem occurs with both PS CS6 versions, 64 Bit and 32 Bit.
If I uncheck the 'maximum compatibility' mode, the file size is 48.7MB. If the 'maximum compatibility' is checked, then it cannot save the document at all giving me an error message about it being larger than 2 GB.
I need to send this file into a printer and I cannot guarantee what version of photshop they are using, so I want maximum compatibility to make sure they can open it.
I recently upgraded to Mac OS X Mountain Lion and was informed that I needed to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop Elements 6. The Setup application could not be opened, however, because of Javascript errors (according to the error message). I couldn't find an uninstall item for Elements 6 anywhere on my hard drive. (My iMac is a late 2009 model.) How should I proceed?
The following message appears when attempting to install the trial version of PSE12 onto an iMac.."The following disk images could not be opened - Photoshop Elements_12_WWEFDJ.dmg error -4960"...The installer then hangs with the install extractor and does not respond.
I have created an action where I do some stuff with the picture and then I save the file to a shared network drive while using the "Save for Web" function. While recording the action everything works fine but when I run the action I got a error that Photoshop can't save the file because the Path does not exist / Is unavailable. It is stuck while he want's to run the "Save for Web" part of the action.
I tried the mapped path (Z:files...) and the UNC path (\fileservusersdjametfiles...) but both did not work.I am using Photoshop CS5 and Windows 7 Professional (64Bit).
I am not able to open the tutorial files in the getting started tab. I get a script error "could not complete the operation due to error 800a01ad" for both the tutorials and the help files. I have Windows 7 64 bit SP1, IE 9. I am not getting script errors with any other web sites.
Trying to install LR4 upgrade and it won't install.
Error msg when clicking the yellow package reads: The operation couldn't be completed.(com.apple.installer.pagecontroller error -1.) Couldn't open "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.pkg".
My system is an iMac 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo w/ 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3.Just upgraded to 10.6.3 Snow Leopard and the HD has 893GB available.
When I use the quick selection tool (or when I use content-aware scaling) I get an error message saying "could not complete your request because of a program error." I am working with NEF files, 4 GB of RAM, fast machine with plenty of scratch space, Radeon X1950 crossfire graphics card. With small .jpg files, the problem doesn't occur.
